The A-Team woudn't be caught dead without this trusty throwback! The Ruger Mini-14 Tactical SF Rifle. Chambered for 5.56/.223 rounds, this puppy is a semi auto tactical rifle w/ a 18.5" hammer forged barrel threaded 1/2x28. The gorgeous walnut stock sports a stainless side-folder made from original Ruger casting tooling & an injection molded polymer pistol grip. Also features a Garand-style action w/ breech bolt locking system, a fixed-piston gas system & self-cleaning moving gas cylinder that provides unparalleled reliability under the harshest operating conditions. That ain't all! Some other notable features include a bayonet lug, picatinny rail and a drilled receiver.

Why did Ruger not use a stainless-steel front sight ramp/bayonet mount lug combo on this new re-release stainless-steel mini-14. The price is reasonable at least, I wonder if Ruger is going to make 300 Blackout mini-14's in stainless steel folders also?

For those that already own a Mini the A-TM stock is available for purchase. The Mini's barreled receiver should fit in it without issue as the stock is a factory licensed product 😎

There used to be a .22 conversion by Ceiner. Look on gunbroker they might be on there. The only other option is to get a 10/22 and buy a Sampson side folder stock. It’s a good repro of the mini 14 sidefolder.

I think we can all agree that these are cool rifles and we all want one including myself however.....a more reliable, longer lasting with slightly more punch is an SKS D model that uses any AK-47 mag. Just install a folding stock. Invest in guns that are true or near true military design and grade. At almost 1,400 dollars the price of this Mini-14 you can get something much better.

@@railfanningpoints2.045 the AR-15 in my opinion would only reach the top after you install a piston gas system like the HK variant. If the world fell apart and I could have just one 5.56 I would most likely choose the CZ Bren 5.56.

@@railfanningpoints2.045 I own AR’s with and without and there is a huge difference in carbon deposits even after just a few rounds. It’s obvious that an AR with a gas piston runs much cleaner. Without any other factors considered this alone in my opinion is enough to believe it’s better. I’m not comparing an AK to an AR I’m just suggesting that the AR platform with a piston gas system is better.

Ruger only makes trash. Springfield armory could have made the m1a awesome but it’s also trash. This pattern of rifles must be cursed which is strange because the Garand was a great rifle.

@@sandwichartist5053 the military m14 was a great rifle in my opinion; some will say it was a huge f up but I think only certain aspects. There are a few companies out there that still make decent versions. Springfield armory uses MiM/Cast parts and tolerances are pretty bad. I think the Socom variant is a cool little rifle and I’d love to own one but the quality is just not there for 2 grand +. Springfield is not known for quality products. Ruger is also not known for quality products. It’s a shame because they both used to be.

@@sandwichartist5053 great question. It’s been awhile since I did research into quality m14s. Fulton armory and LRB are great but you’re going to pay out the nose for one. If you’re just messing around and plinking Springfield armory is fine. If you’re buying it and needing a very reliable, accurate, and bulletproof rifle I would steer away from the Springfield armory copy.
