If you are a guitar player, you probably appreciate it a lot more. Otherwise it may just seem like air guitar for non-players. As a player, it is incredible how well this was synchronized. Obviously this is not what he was playing, but the techniques heard are shown at the right times and when possible, segments where the playing matched the audio were actually used. I would bet the guy who made this video definitely plays guitar himself. You would not otherwise be able to line up hammer ons and pull offs, slides, bends and vibrato (especially hard to fake I would think) so well that many of the notes fretted are likely within a semitone of being correct
Anybody who followed BB back in the day knows... KNOWS... he used to bust out neoclassical shred licks between blues songs ALL THE TIME... don't doubt what you can't disprove :)
damn it for a minute i thought this is real .... and then i think "waaaaait a minute, theres no guitar player playing metal with face like that" ......
Actually the face expression was appropriate. This is an artsy rendition of delightful music, not dumb metal "if you can't hear what i play, be scared at least of my facial expression".
Lmbo! Are you serious. B.B King was born in 1925 and his career was over 70 years. Yngwie wasn't even born till 1963. Heck Yngwie's parents weren't even born yet. So who influenced who. Get your facts right.
Thanks God he played in Ljubljana back then, I still keep the concert ticked in my drawer and Blues Boy in my heart. This is beyond words!!!!! Ciao from Slovenia, yours truly Peter :-)
Yeah I laughed at it too. Every time, the expression on BB's face too made me laugh too. Whoever did this was really good a editing in the parts and whoever played over it plays really good and has an excellent tone.
A lot of people forget BB King’s pioneering, neo classical, metal guitar playing. Before his live at the regal concert, BB was donning spandex and permed hair WAY before Yngwie Malmsteen. However, he was so ahead of his time, that folks weren’t ready for it yet. That’s why he settled for a more laid back, blues style.
Permed hair perhaps but....the spandex would be a no go. Every broad in the place would be passing out " trouser rouser". I mean tell us what religion you are BB, without telling us what religion you are.
Amazing fake video. The best is the guitar player behind the video. He has to be a genious to syncronize every single note, every bending,...of B B King. Well done unknown guitar player!!
It’s so nice to see an 80-something year old African American blues player who never forgot where he came from! who never forgot his Northern European/Scandinavian 🇸🇪 Neoclassical roots!... things go full circle......Fantastic to see.
@@wsplatinum Hmmm ! Let's see. Is Riley King's ancestry from northern europe or scandinavia ? I think not ! I do believe his ancestry is from Africa and his grandparents were slaves. How is that european/scandinavian ? I must have missed that in history class or misread his autobiography.
@@u.v.s.5583 BB could do that with the guitar behind his back, but he decides to play more "Grown up" music, for real men, not that 1000 notes per second bullshit, thats called Shred
I don't know if you know this or not but if you shake the neck of the guitar it creates virtually the same effect. If you play guitar it's very cool and useful if you don't have a whammy bar but want that vibrato sometimes. Just thought I'd let you know!
B.B. was once asked in an interview, “What’s it like being the greatest guitarist in the world?” To which he replied, “I wouldn’t know, ask Yngwie Malmsteen.” Dead serious. Look it up.
THAT is freaking awesome!! I always throw Yngwie's name out there when asked who I think is the greatest guitar player. Followed very closely by George Lynch.
Hahaha I’ve watched this so many times, but just noticed @1:44 ahaha! -he waits till he turns around, out of view!! Then he plays the main theme starts already a few notes in! Ahaha -I can’t explain why this is so enjoyable, hahaha
I suppose your guitar never goes out of tune !! ...........try playing live in front of some lights etc and you'll see its different from your bedroom.
In 1973., when I was just 15 years old, me and my best friend stood right in front of BB at the foot of the stage and watched him play beautifully for two solid hours. What made it extra special was at the end of the concert BB bent over and with a smile gave me the guitar pick he been playing with all night. It was bright red and had his name "BB King" embossed on it. I am ashamed to admit sometime later I lost the wallet in which I had been keeping the pick. Nevertheless, this video. brings back the memory of this great guitarist and the kindness he showed a skinny 15-year-old white boy who worshipped blues guitar. A genuinely nice man. One of the all-time greats.
This had to be the best fake vid ever. I laughed so hard when I see him played, got me thinking that B.B King really did play Malmsteen's song for a few seconds then I realized that it's a really well made video. Kudos to the guitar player who made it possible.
Absolutely brilliant! Love how you match the notes that BB is playing then when we can’t see his fingers you throw some shredding in. My favorite video in a long time.
cant help it happen dude.. good musicians will never fix the tune of string in a very obvious way.. and will never do a STOP which making a hole on the body of the song
It's amazing stuff. If you look closely, you can see Jimi Hendrix on glockenspiel, Elvis on the marimba, and Jim Morrison just standing there being the Lizard King.
Cause it’s fake. The runs at 1:16 and 1:46 were the only times where he got some solid speed. And of course, the camera conveniently shows his back and not his hands at those moments. I was playing Yngwie licks 20 years ago note for note up to speed which is why they showed his back only at those moments. Cause they knew guitarists like me would spot it. I love BB King btw.
I loved the way you mixed the images and the sound! Congratulations for your creativity! That would be great to see...unfortunately, it didn't happen. Maybe we'll see Yngwie playing some BB stuff one day. RIP BBKING!
No...this isn't BB's playing or touch. Pay attention to his fingering and the nuances of his vibrato. Whoever overdubbed this did a 98% immaculate job and is, quite obviously, a fantastic guitar player with a wicked sense of humor (WOW)...! ⚡👍🥴⚡
@A.R.F !!! (Amazing Rare Footage !!!) this is insanely good!!!! the only thing that gives it away is the drummer and the drum sound....not trying to be an picky hey.... you couldn' t do anything about it apart from cut the scene....you had me for few seconds... like others i though he was just making a few notes to introduce something... how the hell did you come up with this idea??? hahahah
You should learn to play guitar ... This is real ... Or i challenge you to show me the original footage of this video ... If he's not playing Malmsteen tell ma what song this is .... I'll be waiting .... Probably forever !!
i have no interest in finding the original footage but its fake..... dont watch the guitar watch the drummer faffing about on cymbals when a snare beat is heard
Hello my dear neo classical bluesy friends ! 🎸🤘 can't answer to all the comments but be sure that I read ALL of them ! Much love to you ❤️! And keep the shred alive ! Ric
I was literally fooled the first time with an uneasy feeling. Absolutely incredible playing and editing. I can’t imagine how much work went into this. Hats off to the creator(s)
It took me a second to get my head round this one. It's a very convincing overdub of you- playing in the style of Yngwie by using his sound and technique (and a sort of tribute version to one of his tracks) to closely correspond to what BB basically happens to be doing. A Malmsteenian neo-classical rock equivalent of what BB King is actually playing- which is regular blues- by neatly matching approximate position and movement. All the fast recognisable stuff will mostly be done when the camera is off looking elsewhere. It's a winning idea. And oddly inspiring. Just turn down the volume of your chosen artist- pretend they are playing something written by you and by roughly mimicking their moves- you can whack out some totally new stuff. This vid reminds me of the one with Malmsteen in an instructional video where someone is impersonating him badly in the overdub- as if he's just playing garbage. Oh- there're no flies on me- but I wonder how many people will be/ have been utterly confused or taken in by this one. I'll think I'll have a little read.
