Whenever you need to explain “playing the electric guitar with feel” to someone starting to learn, BB playing ‘Thrill is Gone’ is the bonafide definition of playing with feel. Nothing but the man and Lucille.
People who bash Hendrix or B.B King for not bring “technology efficient” don’t know who to appreciate blues guitar, or guitar in general for that matter
For anyone who like me thinks B. B. King is just about one of the best blues/soul artists of all times, take a look at the duet he did with Pavarotti on the same song. (I think it was a benefit concert called ‘Pavarotti and Friends’, but don’t recall the year it was done.) The King of Blues and the King of Opera together on one stage is awesome! That one is my personal favorite of them all! ❤ them both, and miss them both too, but thanks to technology today, we are still able to watch and enjoy these great preserved videos from the past!
"A good solo is not about what you put into it; it's about what you leave out." --BB King. By looking at 4:02 in the video, it's obvious that this virtuoso man had the talent to put into his solos as much as he wanted. But his music taste was impeccable. That's why he is the King! RIP, BB.
The legend BB King impersonates in his golden voice and guitar, the ordeal the black community in the US has gone through. I can feel the pain loud and clear through his transcending music. You were a rarest phenomenon! Thank you, Sir! Rest in peace my King! ❤😢
Love to hear BB sing & play Lucille, I never will forget seeing him in person at Pier 6 in Baltimore in the 70's when BB shook my hand. He smelled soo good. The thrill of a life time!!!!
God gifted talent, I was blessed to have seen BB live & I have seen alot of entertainers & BB ranks in the top 2? Impossible to pick one as the best. Simply outstanding for lack of better word!@
когда дочь была совсем еще маленькая мы много ездили между городами на машине, в то время еще были кассетные магнитолы и она из своего автокресла с удивительным постоянством часто просила - папа Би Би, папа Би Би.
BB Kings music and soul lives forever. I’ll cherish it until my time on earth has expired and when that day comes I’ll carry it right on through to the other side. BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOURS MY BROTHER STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART OF DIXIE USA
There are so many ways to be good on an instrument and B.B. King found his voice early on. He can say more with a few notes than most shredders can say with a thousand.
His touch! Amazing. So freakin good! It ain't about what you can play, it's about what you DON'T play. Beautiful human being he was and I feel privileged to this day that I was able to see him play.
The Thrill Is Gone - Timeless - BB King - Ethereal, Forever. Remember when I first heard this tune in the 60’s - hooked, and da man delivered until he could no more. RIP, BB King.
It's absolute religion what you believe in or not this is sacred this man was a gift you can feel the spirituality the hurt the pain my big regret is never seeing him live I have a few other regrets
BB King what a master, he could make a Gibson talk. He played Billy Gibbons’ guitar in the 80s and said, “son why are you working so hard?”... he switched to 7 gauge. BB played 8 gauge (I think) but what an absolute beautiful musician.
B.B. said more in the notes he didn't play than in all the notes other guitarists actually played. The anticipation of his genius was better than most others flashy runs and tapping shows..
Los pocos pelos que me quedan por el cuerpo , se erizarán al escuchar ésta obra maestra 🙏 ...... Y donde solamente hay piel , también se estremece 🙌🎸❤️🙏👌🌍
there are average guitar players, others above the first and finally a very very small number of players, including BB King, who touches the stars when they play the blues and who transforms us by hearing this music.
Not only King of the Blues but also the most influential electric guitarist of all time. B.B. befriend, played with and mentored every significant electric guitarist of the classic rock era and beyond, all the way until his passing. In addition, B.B. toured internationally for decades introducing people to the blues in the most far flung places, no doubt inspiring people to play and sing the blues in their own way.
A sweet beginning... then the meat. Sad that the compressors take some of that away. He had such a beautiful touch.. that guitar cried. Some can play loud... but very few can play with that much emotion that softly. And if the guitar didn't make you cry, his voice would.
A true Artist. A true Musician. A Real Artist. Just an all around Magnet to the Spirit of Humanity. This song isn't just words. Tony Bennet loved him. He tried to sing the Blues. Bless his heart. I suppose he never had the Blues. B. B. King sang the Blues for anyone who had 'em...
Although King is known as the ‘King of Blues’, I put his music (as well as Joe Bonamassa and some others) in a single category /playlist of ‘Blues/Soul’ music. To me at least, if I can’t feel it in my own ‘soul’, get chills, and be emotionally moved, it’s not worth saving and listening to it❗️
How can you not love the blues. Wish that I could learn how to play my C harmonica. Love that harmonica blues sound. But keep it to yourself. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Wonderful stuff. Thank you!
