Close , but with well over 115 albums , and now the new releases from the Zappa. Foundation Zappa played with the best Steve Vai ,Jean Luc ponty , Ruth Underwood , and Mayall is God of the BLUES for me , cheers mate, it'd be close though , I've wondered that ny self , and Frank Vincent Zappa , RIP. was a Virtuoso Guitarist as is Vai , George Dukes Chad waggerman Terry Bozio , now apologies for the thousands i forgot , stay well Geoegejasper
The legend of John Mayall will live forever, but having Gary Moore on the same stage, is heaven to ANYONE’S ears! Throw Buddy Whittington in the mix, and it is euphoria redefined!
John Mayall he is an absolute legend who gave so many legendary players a chance to shine and we have the late great GM on stage with John and buddy .. .what a treat for music lovers
Moore must be one of the most underated guitarist ever (if not the most underated). He could play anithing, from classic blues, he invented rock blues (what Bonamassa embraced), hard rock, jazz, etc... and he was a master in all of that. Rarely you see such a guitarist.
THE BLUES, WHAT A GIFT FROM HEAVEN, THE MUSIC THAT MAKES YOU SAD AND HAPPY AT THE SAME TIME!!! JUST A SECOND LET ME WIPE THE TEARS OF JOY FROM MY FACE. GARY JUST MADE ME CRY WITH HIS SOULFUL GUITAR PLAYING
That's exactly what I was thinking - the angels in Heaven just stopped what they were doing, closed their eyes, and just absorbed this music into their eternal souls!
È assolutamente vero ciò che dici: il BLUES è dannazione e pace, felicità e tristezza, ti entra dentro e ti rivolta come un calzino...... è la musica più sconvolgente per me
I grew up listening to Gary Moore and love his playing. But why so few comments on Buddy Whittington's playing on this tune? Superb touch, tone to die for, dynamics, creative notes, feel, taste, beautiful chords, masterful right hand work, right note at the right time, chops for days, etc. I can go on forever. As far as I'm concerned, Buddy Whittington is one of the finest blues players alive. Two guitar titans on the same stage.
Buddy's a Blues purist thru 'n thru .....original to a fault and his phrasing/dynamics etc all non-derivative in as much as anyone can be.....more so than most.....eloquence personified.....
Love how Gary steps to the side as he lets the spotlight fall on Buddy and his solo. Got to see the two of them when Buddy supported Gary in Cambridge. Great gig.
1969 having a beer with my girlfriend in a tiny bar in belfast this actually blew me away - totally took me to a place in my soul that i am forever grateful for - took me away in my mind from the troubles in ireland at the time still listening today 2021 and the chills are up and down my spine- thank you john mayall and the bluesbreakers- the greatest blues band ever
This song is just SO DEEP and SOULFUL it makes you appreciate the level of musicianship that GARY possessed! John’s singing is the icing on the cake. This video is a REAL GEM, and we are so fortunate to have it!
I agree...it's a pleasure to watch band members of this caliber just playing respectfully with each other. This is classic in my book. I will always stop and listen to this.
Being a 75 years old fart from Germany I totally agree with you, Mike! Looking back in time I must say, it's not only the younger generation that misses in my opinion something I would call the "foundation" of today's music. It's much more, the spirit , the feeling and the discoverer mentality of the 60's, 70's and maybe , I'm not really convinced of it - the beginning of the 80's in music and lifestyle, both going together like a fist on the eye. In our time we really discovered music, because we as younger people were more or less stiff bored of that what was mostly presented by commercial radio stations. And besides music from Beat to Jazz Rock, Fusion, Pop Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, from Soul to Hip Hop or any other music direction I found out, that the Blues and it's variation possibilities was and still is a kind of music to witch I can withdraw and sink into it. I've seen both Musicians, John Mayall and Gary Moore a few times live in concerts or festivals in the last 40 years, but unfortunately never together on stage. But these memories of both will last until I close my eyes forever!
Позволю себе с Вами не соглситься. Во всём мире живёт очень много талантливых людей. Молодых, успешных и признаваемых публикой. Послушайте гитариста из Беоруси Дидюлю , и Вы поймёте , что Гэри Мур в мире не один.
Totally agreed. I'm still young, 66, missed the early 60s, but moved to London in the mid 70s just to suck in all the vibes, love, music. Saw the greatest bands and learned to play the guitar there
This a great jam session, love how Johns vocals started the story with wee licks from Gary, which helped build up to Buddy’s great solo, which opened the doors for Gary tae guide us all through and close behind us , true musicians that are rare to find these days
I love you John Mayall and you too Bluesbreakers!!! I have going to your concerts for maybe 50+ years and Gary Moore you are fantastic. I love the Bluezzz... Can't wait til this mess we are going through is over so I can get back on the concert trail. I sure miss that. Stay safe and healthy so that we may see you play again.
Elly Winterquist : Hello Elly, my fellow Mayall & Blues fan. I became a fan in 1968. , saw every appearance of Mayall when he was on the East coast , started a Blues band and had a great time ! OH! I met John Mayall and Buddy WHidington and they were real nice to me . Regular guys . So nice.
@@bobareeniobobareenio2935 Hi Bobareenio, good to hear from another John Mayal fan!!! I met him also he signed my c.d. and took a picture with me!! Here on the West Coast, he is a very nice guy. Just a regular person but can play the Bluzzz. We were supposed to see him this last year, but was cancelled due to vivid... I am the last person that wants to get covid!!! I hope and pray this thing may be over sometime!!!! Stay safe and stay healthy!!! ✌🎼🎵🎵
Gary Moore is and has been my favorite blues player but mad props to buddy Whittington who definitely up there.....he plays so passionately and definitely makes that guitar sound like its crying.....I so love the blues
This song reminds me about my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost the battling to cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, and I never miss a moment with her, life could be so unfair most times, there is some pain, I will cry in vain but won’t let you know how I will feel yes, I will miss you to the core! but some times i wonder why bad thing always happen to good people. She’s always in our heart.
Diarmaid Mac George Harrison’s favorite blues picker! They played together; George said” some blues men wanna play fast but it’s not required; Garry’s my fav.cus he play’s slow & great!
Hi how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. I'm Maria from California, looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind, thank you.

Mayall's vocals sound great in this video ! .........Blues at its best. Gary Moore and John Mayall .......Wow ! The dynamic difference between Buddy's great solo and Gary's is incredible and so well done by both guitarists. I hope Buddy gets the credit he deserves.
Its amazing how many British performers can give their careers the credit to the Missisippi River Blues style .or as some call it Delta Blues.. This man has lived the blues I think.
The man still surprizes me. I 'd never heard him on keyboard before. I ll be forever grateful to him for giving the humble harmonica the respect it deserves, and inspiring my own playing.

To me Gary Moore and John mayall means alot because i may not have much experience in this life at 26 but sadly last year I lost the greatest young love I'll ever know ... But at least Gary and a few other acts I have discovered are strictly for myself as selfish at it seems I mean it in the sense of they are the bands and artists that soothed my broken soul when I was locked in a deep and tormenting depression , the music was all I had and to this day still all I have at times when they get hard again The blues is always there in my heart and soul ♾️ I'm just an old blues boy after all so young but I feel so old like my days are already over ... Like John said it I miss my baby I miss her laying by my side ❤️🔥 sweet sweet blues baby thats all you need
You can call me "pops" or "old man" or even an "old fart" because I don't give a rat's ass. I got something the younger generation missed out on: The profound joy and memories of growing up listening to these guys. And that is pure gold! Thanks very much for posting. Be safe 🙏
I am that younger generation and all respect to those before me. Without people like you and these guys we wouldn't have this to enjoy. My friends call this garbage but this is real music.
John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers' albums was one of the first I bought as a young mother when I realized a change was really cooking in music..I think it was in 1966 and I found it in a sale bin. They never quite caught on like the Beatles, haha, even though Clapton might have been playing on that album (not that I noticed). I listened all through the 50s to the black radio stations as a teenager, so got a real education in the blues, so when the Brits started in with some of the same material, it was fascinationg.
So many roads........Gary Moore he paved the road for so many BLUES guitar players. He is playing the BLUES for the angels. Miss u on this crazy planet Gary......
With respect, he was quite late to the British Blues scene. Cyril Davis & Alexis Korner are considered to be the first influential Blues musicians in England. They opened the first Blues club in London in 1957, hosting Muddy Waters in 1958, influencing them & a generation of players to go electric. Mayall was part of the second wave, in 63/64, breaking through in 1965 when Clapton joined. I don't want to be at all negative about Mr Mayall's achievements, I just think the originals should be remembered too. I'm sure he'd agree.
Gary Moore never disappoints. Check out the early Irish Skid Row stuff, even way back then he was amazing. That said JMs' singing and keyboard are spot on in an understated way. Buddy too is great in this performance. The parts are great but in this case the sum is greater than the combined parts! Why? ..... This is Blues with a whole lotta Soul. Brilliant!
Neil W., not 'noisy', maybe loud at the right times, but 'noise' suggests something undesirable, like RAP. No, he used 'loud' when it was called for, you're just not hip!! Sorry man, but your ear needs to evolve and smile, it will! Follow wisdom.
Hi Robin how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. I'm Maria from California, looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind, thank you.
The blues just put a smile in my face, the only music genre that can make you sad and happy at the same time. How is that possible? Very powerful stuff. I could swear I heard Gary's guitar cry or am I imagining?
The word antithesis comes to mind but not with any negative implications. I have listened to this tune over and over. One is soulful and moving and the other is power and speed almost but not quite out of control. Great work!
Hi Marc how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. I'm Maria from California, looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind, thank you.
Sorry but you don't know that, he may be listning in on this track, in heaven with Jimi, Johnny, Phil, Amy, Jim and all the others who died from this damn discease.
Gary is my all time favorite guitar player... He was a relaxed perfectionist in my view which lead to his playing be magical in his own unique way like no one else and made him the best contemporary blues guitar player of his generation in my humble opinion. I also even loved his 80s rock guitar work above any other player at the time - Wild Frontier was a true masterpiece.

I keep coming back to watch this amazing performance again and again. You can see John’s reaction at the end that he knew this was an exceptional performance from everyone.
Excellent music improvisations by two G.O.A.T., RIP G.M. - you left soo many music gifts for us to appreciate, I hope we're all playin on stage and making great music at 85 years old like John.
Hi Jim how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. I'm Maria from California, looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind, thank you.
Love Mayall, seen him back in the 70's & again in the 2000's. You're right except the voice. It works on a couple of songs, but have always thought he'd been more successful had he used good singers on his recordings.
I have always been a Clapton fan, but every time I see/hear Gary Moore play I get blown away. The speed, the touch, the precision, the use of volume for expression is amazing. Also he has got that old Les Paul and the Marshall amp "blues" sound down to perfection. None is (was) better. Also, Buddy Whittington can hold his own with anybody.
For me the ultimate music is the Blues. I love the American and English Blues which makes me happy and sad at the same time. I really think God sent it to us to relive our pain from this evil world.
