nice battle, fanatic got the crowd up, but why was no-one using the music more, 'give it up, turn it loose is full of moments tailor made for crowd pleasing in battles, I guess thats the sacrifice of having 'sets'
exactly. You're the one startin with this 'so and so could take out so and so'. You did the comparing, not me. Reread my statement. I think justbreakin is right, USA doesn't care that much about BOTY. He didn't trash talk at all. Stop putting words into peoples mouths and please read the posts properly. Otherwise nobody will take your opinions seriously.
You can like your own nationality more, but if USA beats BRAZIL in the WC(I know it'll never happen) then USA wins. Anyone who knows anything about bboying will never say that korean zulu is better than Us zulu. If you disagree, than you need to study up. Go watch those guys in person. Cause I've cyphered with Casper, Smurf, and Taisuke.
He's much better now than he used to be. He's been dope much longer than I've known about him, but judging from this comp, it seems his footwork has gotten a lot tighter (even though it feels strange to say that considering footwork's always been his strong suit).
I just went and looked up gass in another battle, his flavor is very similar and I'm sure influenced by Kamel, as many bboys have been influenced by kamel as well. So for a guy who's never seen Gassama break before, and in this dark setting with a hat covering his face, it would be easy to mistake him for Kamel, although it's not kamel's exact moves, the flavor is very similar.
you're talking about the tall african american guy with the kangol hat right? I guess I was mistaken. They both have the same ethnicity, body frame and height. Kmel wears similar styles of clothing at times. Their toprock movements and stuff have some similarities, and some of the moves are similar, but at the same time, I was wondering why it seemed like kmel was doing TOTALLY different new moves as well. My bad, respect to gassama, that was a tight set.
I never said in the first place. You're making like I'm saying Phantom is a phony, I did not say that. You're also making like, because I don't feel Phantom's style, that this means I'm not as "deep" as you stated "you gotta get deeper than Ken Swift." I said I didn't feel Phantom's toprock in one section, and I used the wrong word to express that "corny," which was a mistake. But
Ken Swift is not from Jojo's generation, but Ken Swift did start breaking in the late 70's, so he's from that era, thus why he's an OG. I already cleared this up with Phantom, through messages, we're kool now, I should've have said the word corny, I apologized to him because I was disrespectful, and a jerk in what I said. But still, Phantom is not an OG, but he does know and
Ken Swift is one of the deepest breakers there is, not because he's well known, but because of his style, creativity, and flavor. How OG is floorphantom, OG would be the mid to late 70's, with Jojo, the Nigga Twins, dem cats, is floorphantom from that generation? I know the Zulu Nation has been there forever, rivaling Kool Herc with A Bambaata, but was floorphantom from that time period, or are you throwing around the OG word aimlessly?
Don't get me wrong, in an uprock battle, he would burn me a million times. I just mean that, thing at 0:04 repetitive step, looked a little corny. But here's the thing, I guess cuz I was looking for a bang effect, because I'm used to swift, and fast styles like Ken Swift, Lego, Casper, etc, at least on camera. But in person, in a cypher in real life, I'm sure I would enjoy watching guys like floor phantom because it's just different in person. You break with ready to rock crew?
What happened to the U.S. lol, they got like super motivated and upped their game in just one year haha. My goodness, Kmel is busting out new moves and flavor I've never seen from him before after the past like decade already. It's like all of these American bboys I've always looked up to from when I started breaking in 1999 to now, changed their moves all of a sudden in 2008, I guess preparing to take back the throne to the U.S., where it was for a long time.
The guys who started Zulu Kings come from the 1970's, what do you mean hiding? In the era of the 70's they were the top bboys, and the ones who are there now are not the guys from the 70's, but a newer generation. Of course, how are they going to have guys who are over 40 years old still trying to compete
from the 70's, which is what OG means, "original gangsta/guru." All I disagreed with you on, was not on Phantom's authenticity, but on your misuse of a vocabulary word. And I would tell you to chill with the way you talk to me like I'm an eboy, because I've been breaking longer than you have. Your whole argument against me is based on something
manifestations of different vessels is going to be different, and thus why different bboys who view these vessels, are going to lean more to one side than the other, or the other way around, depending on their background and artistic style as well. So I never said Phantom wasn't real, I just said that he wasn't the ORIGINAL ORIGINAL guy
Someone may feel Kuriaki's style, more than they do Jimmy D, yet Jimmy D is more old school than Kuriaki, and was one of the founders of RSC. Both are from the real culture, both are RSC, but some may just feel Kuriaki's style more, or vice versa. Feeling or not feeling a bboy's style, does not mean that bboy is wack, or a fake, because bboying is an art, and the
I never said he didn't live it, I know he lives it, he's in MZK, and you don't just get in to that without being hardcore and deep in to the culture. There was just a certain part of his toprock, that I wasn't feeling, and I chose the wrong choice of words to express that, which is why I apologized to him.
trains with OG's, which is dope. Phantom is our age man, 23, all three of us weren't even sperm when the OG's were around lol. OG means "original gangsta" or guru in that sense, and you can't be one of the originals if you're not even born when that original first guys were around. Even Phantom told me he's not an OG, but he is down with them as a Seven Gem in their group.
and you have no understanding clearly of dancing to the music, because you can't even recognize what's happening. I've been breaking since 99, I see so much detail from some of the guys here, how long have you been breaking? Before you go and think I'm being overly defensive, well yes, breaking is actually a part of my life, so if you're going to critique it
you have no understanding of bboying. Listen to the music, not just the main eight count, but all of the little drums, every little sound, and you'll see some guys in here hitting every part of the music. If it's boring because you didn't see as much tricks as you wanted, comment with that rubric on a gymnastic video, this is a dance battle,
Truth! I agree. They've seen what France and Korea and other countries have been up to. I'm glad to see the US stepping up their game. Now it's time to show the rest of the world what they're capable of.
they just brought the hype (kh) they looked like they wanted it more, i personally dig zulu but yeh kh were mad fresh and deserved it. Props to both crews, got alotta inspiration from that.
i'll give you that one but then just list all the ones that actually battle. And machine is now officially reppin killafornia as i recall. I've never even seen machine battle for zulu's
the korean bboys are representing Zulu Kingz in Korea..no point of having them here... it's best to split the crew and have ppl representing your crew in a lot of places
As for the first guy from ready to rock, I've seen him do better in other battles, but in here, he's doing some corny toprocks. He's connecting with the song and all, but the actual movements are kind of wack in his tops.
based on tricks, for not a trick but a dance battle, try and judge a ballet battle by how masculine it is. it won't work, because the point of that dance is to be feminine and graceful.
I'm not waiting for big moves, I'd rather watch Alien Ness do footwork for ten hours, than watch Bruse Lee, The End, or someone like that, just do airtracks for ten minutes.
I did not say he was fake, or that he wasn't a bboy, and yet the way you reply to me is based on that strawman fallacy I didn't state in the first place.
