B-hyve XR Smart Irrigation System - When Cost Cuts Ruin a Good Idea 

Thank you for the video! Full disclosure, I work for Orbit b-hyve so I appreciate the depth of info from the video. -Just a heads up with the fuses, the b-hyve timers use resettable PTC fuses. The XR has a 1 amp resettable fuse. So if you do hit that amperage it will trip the fuse and it will reset itself once the amperage drops enough. You shouldn't need to replace fuses on this device even if they trip. -The Sensor terminals can't be activated/deactivated from the app, at least at this time. Some Orbit timers can activate/deactivate them from the physical interface but the XR requires either a rain sensor or the pre-installed jumper wire to operate properly. -It looks like you installed 2 of these timers? Did you run into the same issues with both installs? There are changes coming to the app with onboarding devices and I would like to get some of the items you found addressed if possible.

Great video. What is the voltage output (AC or DC) going into the electronics of the box? 24v AC? If so, would it not be better to feed it 24v (safe voltage and low voltage qualified by NEC). Your thoughts?

Just watching this I was frustrated! I think I would have tossed this in the trash and would have gone back to hoses and sprinklers.
