B.J. performing one of his own compositions on Nashville Now - 7/14/93 - B.J.'s band: Larry Chavis - drums; Daryl Huffman - guitar; Carl Greeson - keyboards; John Francis - bass; Martin Aucoin - keyboards.
I have been listening to BJ Thomas since the 70's and boy oh boy this guy has one of the best of the best voices music ever had. May his soul rest in peace 🙏 🕊
Thank you BJ Thomas for all your great music. You were a legend with your voice that produced sooo many great songs. You will be sadly missed but never be forgotten. You lots of fans in South Africa too.
Wow!!! Boy howdy does this song hit home for me. I spent 13 years on the road playing county fairs. These lyrics are real and I can relate 100%. Great song BJ.
I've been a BJ fan since Raindrops, but never heard this song. Love it and would like to find it. This man's voice is perfect - like a piece of heaven.
B J was the most incredible singer and thanks to his amazing wife, Gloria, he shared his tremendous gift with us for so long. RIP sweet singer; you left a great legacy.
Jan 2020: Sweet song....thanks. Sad to see him emaciated, but God has been with him through every trial. *I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten-the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm-my great army that I sent among you. Joel 2:25
@@loripatterson7882 not sure where you heard that. He was a very strong believer. Grew up singing gospel, loved singing gospel. Firmly believed in God and one of his favorite places to perform was a church in Arizona. One of the greatest men I ever got to meet and know. Blessed to have known him, his music, and to have had his band take me under their wing as a kid and teach me all about musicianship. His original drummer Larry (seen here) is the whole reason I became a drummer and still play 26 years later.
He has said it many times in interviews. The Gospel sing business was pretty rough on him. Audiences booed him when he tried to sing any of his hits. They wanted him to be a preacher and that just wasn’t him. Imagine paying to see someone with the express purpose of booing him. It was planned and went on and on. He stop playing gospel concerts.
Great performance on a very good song, one with an outstanding melody and good lyrics. B.J. should write more songs! I enjoy the arrangement of this live version much more than his recorded one. B.J.'s recorded version would actually fit the format of this country music show better than this one. But I'm not complaining! I'm very glad this was posted, as I didn't get to see it on the TV broadcast. Thanks!
I have lots of B.J. records but I don't remember this one. Any idea what album/cd this is from. Thanks for posting, it's another great song from B.J. Miss the Nashville Now show.
Mr. Good Man any chance I could find that album any where?I have most everything he did but that one song no,would love to have it.Its one of the best.
