Ran into him at the Too $hort and Mac Mall show a few weeks ago and he looked youthful and super healthy. Glad to see the legend is taking good care of himself!
I'm Htown allday & Bay muzik always been legit with me. When I heard "Practice looking hard" I was hooked but even before that $hort had already turned me up on Bay game. Dj $crew started showing luv on his tapes and the whole city was on it then, he loved B-legit "City 2 City" joint. I never understood ppl that don't like E-40 flow, but I was like "He don't sound like no one else" that game! Ppl down here always thought "captain save em'" was funny more than anything, which it was but they didn't take 40 serious until Pac. Same thing with Mac Dre, that creativity was like no other. Thizz in Peace, Dre. When I smoked with Valley Jo catz they rolled that skinny extendo blunt, they kept calling it "LG" and I was high allday. I wasn't use to those small packs for $10
I seen B Legit at Guitar Center in Concord back in 2011, I threw up the peace sign and said Bele and he did a head nod back. I was juiced to see him there but didn’t want to bother him while he was shopping, plus he looked loaded so I just kept it pushing. I missed my chance to talk to a rap legend that day.
Awesome interview!! Really enjoyed it! Would be great if you could get Little Bruce on there. More cousins of the family were ofc Little Bruce, Toby T from SMG, one of the member of the Mobb Unit , Mac Shawn and more. This family is so big.
When I first heard E-40's "Captain Save A Hoe" on Video Jukebox I didn't like it until I heard B-Legit's verse. That's what hooked me! B-Legit is what what made me listen to E-40!
Shot out to the thurman family i got homies from my city here in South texas related to these cats & theyve also confirmed mac mall ,40 , b-legit ,lil Bruce & mac shawn was all dey kinfolks even producer decadez & work dirty
1998 Dallas, TX. B-Legit came to my college to do a show. He was such a real one, me and him blew 4 sweets straight to the head. Real down to earth, humble brother .
707 we in the building! He’s right about coming from the South! He’s one of the best in the Bay! We used to see them passing out there music at the Fairfield mall when they were MVP ❤️💯
My apologies...I couldn't watch this video all the way through. I had to stop it halfway to listen to The Hemp Museum. But it's all good. I came back afterward and finished the interview.
This was a Savage interview! Proud to be from The Bay and to have lived through ALL of this history! Would've loved to ask him and 40 about their old school beef with their area rivals from Richmond called Reggie D and The Click...😅
6:00 “in the swaps catching crawdads doing everything kids do, but these kids now days don’t do that” Man that’s real ! Takes me back to my young days in Hayward playing in the creek behind Shepherd elementary catching frogs, or at Weeks Park catching crawdads ! Our social media was outside!
I can’t lie, I thought I had love for you. But at the time all I had was a slug for you. Money, money, money by the ton shit. I stays up late and watch promo flicks!
Rap should’ve never grew out of the 90’s. Especially the west coast rap. Dudes rapped like they had fucking balls back then. Nowadays everyone has a light ass voice and uses that same whack ass flow
