Listen, no mater where you live on the planet, this is the guy to TRUST with your B&O laser repair. I live in the states and B&O said they can't do anything to repair the cd laser unit on my B&O Century (Beosound 2000 in America). I contacted Mark & "purchased" his service via ebay. he fixed & returned it and it works like new. Mark is an honest and reliable man to trust with your B&O repair no matter where you live in the world. THANK YOU so very much for your help, you saved my loved Century.
Took my B & O Century to B & O main dealer for repair to CD player (it was skipping). Told parts were now obsolete. Put it in attic and forgot about it for 2 years then saw this on Video on youtube. Contacted them through ebay. Used this video clip to show me how to remove laser unit (dead easy - just take your time!) Returned for repair - Now my Century is PERFECT!!!! again. Can't thank them enough. Honest, Genuine, Brilliant.
Thanks so much for this video! I just got a neglected B&O century from my parents and the door was getting stuck, but thanks to this video I ended up fixing it. You very well may have saved me a couple hundred bucks repair cost.
hi! I recently purchase my century but the glass door does not close once its opened(sometimes it doesnt open at all), also the cd clamp does not open when i press load... would it be possible to ask for your advise of how to fix it? thank you!
Have you ever had to do the cassette mechanism on a Century? I followed your guide for the laser which worked out great but today some 7 years on the cassette mechanism has decide to stick in the play position with only some mechanism clicking every now and again and no drive turns. am guessing maybe a belt/controller problem?
Mine just went dead. No sound or spinning from CD or radio. It powers up but that's it. Any ideas what the problem is? I was told maybe fuses. Where are they found? Thanks for any help.
@@sellshortebay I used to repair XBOX 360 lasers and am used to seeing two potentiometers on the laser unit...one for DVD the other for CD format. CD audio players usually have one. This adjusts the current through the laser diode and is set up at the manufacturing stage. When CDs start to skip it could be an indication of a fading laser as well as a dirty lens or bad CD.
