B Tier Character Deletes v2.1 MOC 11 and 12 | E0S1 Argenti Hypercarry MOC Boss Rush Showcase | HSR

I don't care that much about tier lists, I'm just concerned about misinformation.
TL;DR/DW: Prydwen's MOC rating of Argenti doesn't make sense given their stated criteria, and is even more strange when considering their reason for his B rating in MOC.
Long version:
Here's Prydwen's stated reasons for Argenti's B rank in their MOC tier list:
"Similar to Herta and Himeko, Argenti thrives when fighting multiple enemies - a scenario that is becoming less frequent in Memory of Chaos. In addition to this we feel the current A tier characters have more to offer against the more challenging and boss focused Memory of Chaos. Clara received a massive boost to her best in slot team with Sparkle and Blade by our testing is on the cusp between A and S. For these reason's we'll be moving Argenti down to B for now."
Prydwen's MOC ratings are based on the assumption that characters are using their optimal teams/supports. Therefore, I am assuming they're including Tingyun AND Huohuo in their considerations for Argenti's ratings. This is why I find their reasoning for his downgrade to B strange because he doesn't care about the amount of enemies at all with Tingyun and Huohuo present. Even Tingyun by herself is enough in the majority of cases.
He does excel against multiple enemies, after all, his kit is designed for Pure Fiction. But I don't quite get why this is a knock on his Single Target and/or 2 elites performance, which is still good. Even without Tingyun, Argenti can also use Sparkle-Bronya (like Blade, who is rated A tier) to help him generate energy with extra turns. Argenti's performance doesn't magically drop against a single target because his RNG hits from his 180 ult can focus on them for massive damage. Sure, his performance drops in the sense he won't get as much energy, but again, that's what Tingyun and Huohuo are for.
To make matters stranger, I find it weird how they noted Clara as receiving a significant boost from Sparkle and that's the reason for her staying in A but her improvement is also a reason to lower Argenti. This is because Argenti also significantly benefits from Sparkle, so I find it hard to see in what way this logically makes sense. Of course, I'm not saying Clara is bad- you'd be willfully ignorant if you actually believe that (plus I have a level 60 Clara showcase on my channel), but again, I find it strange that she, and other characters for that matter, has Sparkle as a reason for their high rating but a downgrade for Argenti.
Lastly, I want to talk about two other criteria that affects their rating: flexibility and 'damage dealer'. As they state, flexibility is "[h]ow the character['s] kit functions against various enemy types, amounts of enemies and their ability to perform when not fighting against enemies vulnerable to their element." As stated earlier, Argenti does not care about the amount or type of enemy assuming he has his optimal supports. And as you've seen from this showcase, Argenti clears at about the same rate as on-element characters.
'Damage dealer' is 'the character['s] ability to deal enough damage to achieve the 3 star objective, the easier and more quickly achieved the higher the rating." Argenti certainly deals a lot of damage and he's pretty (heh) simple to use. His only real requirements to function smoothly and easily is Tingyun, a 4* character who is also present in many other optimal teams (e.g. Hypercarry Dr. Ratio, Jing Yuan, Clara, E0 Dan Heng IL, etc.), and some source of SPD/Action Advance, like Asta, Hanya, Bronya, and Sparkle, all of whom are also present in other optimal teams.
Below are 2 showcases I did before with Argenti in mostly 1-2 target scenarios, from 1.6 MOC's stage 11, a 1 cycle clear with Tingyun-Bronya-Fu Xuan, and 2.0 MOC's stage 12, a 2 cycle clear with Tingyun-Sparkle-Huohuo.

Read the description for more details I couldn't fit in the video. To reiterate, I don't really care much about tier ranks moreso as I am concerned about misinformation. Yes, I am aware that Prydwen's tier list is based on the E0S0 and relatable stat distribution level and they've stated in the past that their tier list is not an absolute metric. I am not saying this video is an F2P relatable showcase, but it's a showcase of Argenti's performance despite what Prydwen states are major flaws that justify their B tier rating of him (his LC does not directly alleviate his stated flaws apart from doing more damage) and their given criteria. Nor am I saying that Prydwen committed a major sin, because B tier is whatever and they state at the very top of the tier list that any character can clear well, which is undeniably true and something I agree with completely. However, I hold Prydwen to a significantly higher standard because, as they state themselves, they have the most popular tier list and many players visit their website for information about the game. This is why it is imperative they are doing their due diligence and making sure they output accurate information. My E0S0 Argenti hits 851 620 damage ult, enough to wipe the first wave in MoC12 in one hit. I wanted to try him out again since they put him in B-tier, lol. Prydwen has some serious flaws, and they’re dead ass wrong about this one.

Quick question, i thought obly speed buffs lasted longer if u cast them in their turn, instead of before but dmg buff just run out once the turns are over arent they? Thats why youre supposed to type ulti after jingyuans turn if possible so his ll gets always buffed or am i wrong? Edit to say indont have phys dps and argenti looks really good i didntnpull him in his first banner, u recommend him or is boothill maybe a better one? I have seele lc if that matter but no erodition sig lc. Im still amazed at your jing yuan doing 450k in your other video lmao thats why im checking out your other videos keep up the good work

@@Sengeo22 So the thing is it's not really a consistent thing. Some buffs just last longer on a given character if you cast them during the character's turn, which afaik are just Hanya ult, Asta ult, Sparkle ult, Huohuo ult, and Ruan Mei's LC. Bronya's ult does not last longer when cast during a character's turn, so it's kinda weird. So for buffs like Tingyun and Bronya ult, generally save them until after Jing Yuan's turn but for the named above, use them during. I would definitely recommend Argenti if you have a freed up Tingyun and you also need a Pure Fiction carry. Boothill as a Hunt character is probably going to be stronger than Argenti in MOC but is more than likely gonna do nothing to help you in Pure Fiction unless the buffs on his release are extremely good and turns him into psuedo-Seele.

I'd say it looks like Prydwen's authors don't have a lot experience in general, because of consistently baffling takes. Their tier list for a long time now have been a popularity tier list, not a performance one.

Overall I'd say their resources are accurate, but when they make takes like these, it's fairly obvious to me that they needed to do more testing or research. For a while Clara and Jing Yuan were calc-ed with SPD boots, for example. Or that Glamoth was recommended for a lot of characters, even for those who cannot build that much SPD or use Asta without compromising damage efficiency.

I think reputation comes from the fact that the resources they put (characters builds, etc) are perfectly fine. +, ngl the website isn't badly designed, it's easy to navigate. But they def have their fave waifus and just slander the characters they don't like instead of acknowledging that they don't use them enough to know.

@@ranges787my E0S0 Dan is in the same ballpark of damage as my E0S0 Argenti and slightly less than my E2S0 Acheron in 3 target scenarios, he outright out DPS' my E0S0 Jing Yuan and E0S0 Himeko in 3 target scenarios, and outright out DPS' my E0S0 Seele(with Yanqing signature) and E0S1 Yanqing and E0S0 Dr Ratio in single target scenarios. So yes he is absolute S+ at E0S0, if you think otherwise you're just not building or using him well.

@@TheBoltMaster456 if you have ever played bronya sparkle 6 interactions speed setup you know what’s S+. what dmg does a damn daniel do in 1 turn? maybe 700k on first rotation with bronya sparkle setup even blade can do over 1 million on turn 1 and blade is just trash dmg. try jingliu with this setup and you will see that daniel doesn’t even come close 6 interactions welt, argenti, jingliu jing yuan even blade all out dmg daniel with this setup. so why is he S+?

@@ranges787 I don't have Jing Liu. I haven't had good luck with Sparkle and Bronya's relics so their speed isn't very good, let alone tuned, so my Dan just far out DPS' most my other DPS' because he does the most damage per everytime he attacks, which considering all my other DPS' with the exception of Seele don't attack more often than he does, Dan Heng just automatically gets the most damags. Argenti and Acheron get all their damage from their ult which take a bit to build up so their damage just sits in the same ballpark as Dan Heng.

I don’t have Argenti but seeing him sitting 3 tiers below Acheron is so frustrating. I have Acheron, sure she’s insane but he is insane too, and both their gameplay and damage come close. I am not saying they are the same but having him in B tier when she is S+ is bullshit. Plus, he does a better job than anyone else in Pure Fiction without relying on any other sub dps.

Their ratings have always been meh though. Even more so for male characters. Idk what i expected but argenti in B was the greatest lie they ever told imo💀. Also they keep yapping about erudition lcs for f2p and then use an s5 gacha lc for acherons base. Low dmg outside ult? Acheron? Is better with certain characters that happen to be limited? Literally most of the roster. All of their complaints aren't making sense because characters already have all of these caveats but are higher up.

So glad I pulled Argenti for this exact reason. When the enemied are weak to physical and I'm running E6 Tingyun + Huohuo with him he's UNSTOPPABLE. He legit does as much damage as my Acheron and OUT DAMAGES MY DAN HENG IL IN 3 TARGET SITUATIONS 💀💀💀

I understand that my investment is wildly different from many players, but the point is proving Argenti is still viable against 1-2 targets with little change in performance when he has his optimal supports. If you just had an E0S0 Sparkle and Argenti, no S5 DDD on Tingyun, you'd probably clear slower by 1-2 cycles. And 3-4 cycle clears are still great and comfortably fast.

@@StrangeSupreme2045 E0S1 with only 1 E1S1 (and Sparkle’s E1 isn’t that great anyway) is fair game in my opinion. Prydwen also rates 4* at E6, so my Tingyun at E6 is also fine. The point is that I’m using his optimal team, which is the tier list’s stated criteria for rating. And no matter if you have S1 LC’s or not, he’s still performing on par with characters rated as higher tiers and I know this because I also have characters they rate as higher.

@@StrangeSupreme2045 Her E1 is not as impactful as her S1. 40% ATK is not that great, especially in a team with Tingyun who inflates ATK to hell and back, even more so with Huohuo. And no, I have not reset for relics at all. That’s a complete waste of my Jade. I’m just lucky, can’t buy that lmao. All characters gain roughly the same performance boost by having their signatures compared to their best non sig LC option. Take away the signatures, and they all clear 1-2 cycles slower compared to with them.

From what I've heard, she's not great/suited for him. I think Argenti's next team upgrade is a 5* Tingyun, so look out for that instead.

I have Argenti but when comparing him to characters like DHIL Jingliu Acheron he is very underwhelming. Jingliu can reach higher damage even with just 4-star supports like Tingyun Pela Same goes for Acheron with Pela Gui Gallagher/Fire MC DHIL has some problems but with this amount of investment shown in the video (E1S1 well built Sparkle with Signature on DHIL) he would clear twice as fast Not only that but Argenti has zero flexibility as a character. Characters like Blade and Clara can be run as a Sub-DPS and find a lot of value still. Characters like Topaz Kafka and Acheron have amazing future potential due to innate synergy with specific playstyles in ther kit. But obviously as you mentioned every character can clear comfortably with good invesment, but the best characters can clear easily even with poor investment, and Argenti just isnt of these characters. I know that popularity doesnt determine how a good a character performs but if Argenti is such a good character why isnt everyone talking about how insane he is in the Western community or the CN community? I mean like is hard to argue against stats also and Argenti stats arent looking good after the MOC with energy buff that was running with him. Even CN tierlists dont have him very high. If Prydwen really hates male characters why are DHIL Dr Ratio and Jing Yuan rated higher? Maybe because they are indeed better characters? Or is there some other excuse that i don't know of? But of course as proud gacha gamers lets all cope together in our sweet bubble that our beloved 3D digital character is very strong! Then lets cry together later about how powercreep is also ruining the game. Would like to see the same run with Tingyun Hanya and Some sustain other sustain clear "comfortably".

At the end of the day, all of the 5 star DPS can perform competently. From my experience if you give them a chance or some thoughts on building them, they all can pretty much 1-3 cycle a floor even on non-weak enemies. Tierlist like that aren’t very good at giving the full picture at first glance, like isn’t B supposed to be a lot worse than S? In reality Argenti would probably clear only 1 or 2 cycles slower than Acheron, and he’s obviously not in the same rank as Serval.

Yeah I agree 100%. From my observations by watching a lot of other HSR CC"s MOC clears, a 5* DPS should be clearing on-element MOC stages in 1-3 cycles, and off-element should be clearing 2-4 cycles assuming E0S1 and good relics, and not 0 cycling.

Guys chill out Prywden tier list always rate based on current MoC since recent enemy mostly favors chara with lightning advantage and barely any physical weakness.Character like Argenti will suffer and fall off the tier list while lightning unit like Jingyuan rise for period of time.I believe Argenti will always be a great limited pull since he excel in all content be it SU erudition path, MoC and PF

Well, that's the thing, he's still doing fine regardless of weakness advantage. Overall, I've come to learn that the game does a poor job at incentivising the use of on-element characters, because at worst off-element characters will clear 1-2 cycles slower, which is barely anything. Now of course, I am biased because of the investment point I'm at. It matters a lot more at lower end investment, but then it ceases to matter almost entirely once you're past that point.

Imagine making tierlists KEKW Tbh people who believe tierlists are just as dumb as those who make them and I am glad there are still people with braincells like you who disprove it. Yukong is definitely in a lower tier on prydwen's tierlist but tbh she helps me so much on dhil team whenever I wanna play smth different. I hope more people just stop ranking characters based on some arbitrary letters when they should focus on things like how good is their damage output, versatility, if dependent on specific supports, how costly are they when building a team around them, etc. But then again that takes so much time that putting them on rankings is much easier.

This video made me go look at the tier list for MoC and saying characters like Seele and Ratio are better than Argenti and Blade?! Like clearly they havent done full tests because Argenti and Blade have only gotten better since their release

I’d hesitate to say Seele and Ratio are worse in MOC than Argenti and Blade. Barring Acheron, imo all the limited 5* are more or less on the same level. And this is probably a hot take, but imo Seele is the second best 5* limited carry after Acheron.

They really have it out for this man, they even think HERTA is better than him for PF lmao. That annoyed me way more than the MoC drop tbh, and the reasoning they give proves they either don't have or use him, for both tierlists. That's what annoys me. Just acknowledge that you don't really use this character instead of inventing shit out of nowhere... I'm not saying Argenti is S+ in MoC, he's obviously not. But saying he's Serval level is too much, especially with the bullshit reasoning.

I think they rank tier B is because he not great for 0 cycle, the hardcore players try many units to get 0 cycle and rank argenti tier B

I don’t agree because Prydwen states that their criteria assumes investment points that are fairly relatable to the average player. This means E0S0, level 8 traces, and decent enough relics (I.e meeting minimum SPD breakpoints, 70/140-ish Crit ratio, etc). 0 cycles are generally impossible without going past these average standards.

If your assumption is true, that'd make it even worse. Because then it goes from misinformation to disregarding accuracy because "who cares anyway". That kind of attitude, if present, makes it turn into a slippery slope of incrementing biases that would make it hard for me to trust them as a source.

Is a f2p tier-list. S1 is 30% better than the serious of breakfasts s5. Plus, your team comp is expensive. It is in tier list criteria strictly f2p. So go f2p a head proof that Agenti is A tier with f2p team comp and f2p 4 stars light cone.

What do you mean by F2P team comp? Because their criteria states their optimal supports, not necessarily F2P only, like only 4*. If you mean no limited LC’s or S5 DDD, then it’s a 2 or so cycle difference. Because if you’re saying the tier list should be rated by 4* only teams, because they’re F2P accessible, then Jingliu would drop a lot with just Tingyun as her main source of Transmigration state maintenance. Blade is very underwhelming without Bronya/Sparkle as a carry. Etc etc

Oh yeah, I agree. I've said it in the description/pinned comment, but I actually really don't care that "oH nAur My FAvoRitE PiXel iSn'T S rAnK!!!!" But the main reason I made this video is I found Prydwen's reasonings strange and weirdly biased, as it was clear to me at least that they didn't have much experience with Argenti because: 1) they ignored Sparkle's huge benefits for him while citing her as the reason for other characters' high ratings 2) said Argenti has less to offer than other characters in single target/2 elite scenarios, which is just untrue and Tingyun and/or Huohuo are his primary energy sources, not so much the enemy amount.

As good as this clear is, personally imo argenti is the worst limited 5* dps. Even in pure fiction, his performance gets rivalled by other strong units like Himeko,Herta and JY and pure fiction is more of a buff oriented game mode than a units raw performance. In MOC, according to my testing he is consistently clearing the slowest out of my other limited dps units. However, i think B tier is too low for him considering the ones above him and on the same tier as him and i would rather place him at low A tier.

Yeah, I'm not saying Argenti is the best character in the game, nor is Prydwen saying he's unusable by being at B tier. But what I'm more concerned with is the implications of it, especially when the only other B tier unit in their MOC tier list is Serval, a free 4* character. Who, to be clear, is not bad and is one of the best 4*'s, but you can see the issue of putting a limited 5* on the same level as a 4* you get for free. Also, I've always just found it strange that people think Argenti isn't that good in MOC when I've always had him perform consistently well at the same level or near the same level as my on-element characters. I do agree that Hoyoverse didn't make a great case selling him though. He isn't significantly better than alternative options in Pure Fiction (Himeko, Herta, Jing Yuan, Seele), and going by Prydwen's statistics, sometimes Clara outperformed him on average. And this was made worse by Black Swan being another very strong Pure Fiction character.

Nah blade is definitely the worst, atleast argenti has pure fiction going on but blade is really useless once you have 2 any other limited dps. If you count topaz as a dps then she is also worse than argenti imo

I am sorry, you proved exactly nothing with this video, if anything, you proved the tierlist is right. ANY other limited five star would do more damage with this kind of insane buffing, especially when i read E1 Sparkle i laughed out loud. With this many buffs, do u know how hard Jingliu is hitting? DHIL? Acheron i don't even have to say she hits more than him unbuffed. Hell even Jingyuan. If you love the character and u can make him work for you that's all good man, noone is gonna stop you, but don't call out the tierlist for putting him in the "wrong tier" if the tier he got put in is deserved.

im trying argenti without sparkle. argenti hanya tingyun huohuo play 4 cycle in memory 12. Not bad for B tier with enemy dont have physical weakness

Prydwen's main reason for Argenti's MOC rating is that he prefers fights with multiple enemies and due to MOC being 2 elite based, he will struggle more compared to other options. However, the point I'm making is that he doesn't struggle no matter the amount of enemies because when he has his optimal supports, mainly Tingyun, his energy problems are perfectly fine. Argenti consistently gives me good performance on the same level as the other characters I've built and love who are on element but are rated higher, like Dr. Ratio and Jing Yuan. Therefore to me, there is no real reason to rate Argenti as B and putting him at B is misleading for his MOC performance. Also, Sparkle E1 is not that strong. If you were talking about her S1 LC, then I would agree 100%. But her E1 is so weak compared to other E1 options like Ruan Mei, especially in this team where ATK is inflated to hell and back with Tingyun's skill, Sparkle's talent, and Huohuo's ultimate. The only time her E1 was relevant in the video were in both first halves, where he was cutting it close to not finishing in 1 cycle, but that would mean he'd get 2 cycles, which is still great for no element favoring him.

If you have lower investment than me, which is going to be the case for many people, then you'll be clearing 1-4 cycles slower than me, especially if you're missing Huohuo and Sparkle. And you can say that about all the characters. Jingliu, ignoring Bronya or Sparkle to advance her, can also use Tingyun-Huohuo to keep her Transmigration state permanently.

He literally just needs Tingyun? Any DPS needs the right supports to shine. Yes, even DHIL, Jingliu and Acheron. The second sustain for Argenti can literally be anyone, I run Tingyun+Yukong and he still deletes everything.
