When plumbing a gas water heater you will need to vent the water heater. This requires the installation of B Vent from the water heater through the roof. In this video we will cover the fire stop on the b vent and also a useful way to keep the b vent straight vertically.

Excellent video. I have a question on mine. I have that metal flashing as one expandable unit between the joists, but why did they ADD/attach an extra 2x4 on inner side” of each ceiling joists??? Seems they went through extra work cutting and adding in these two pieces. Unless it is a code requirement?

How do the drywall guys work around those rails?

They are the same rails the HVAC guys use for there registers . There thin enough to not matter .
