Taste in music is subjective of course.... I enjoy all sorts of genres as you apparently do as well. It's actually refreshing to hear something besides the usual "Greatest Audiophile" tracks/voices.... that tend to be overplayed. Beautiful sounding speakers.
love your videos ...please keep it up and continue to play what music you like, not just things that fit the narrow definition of an audiophile ... ignore the narrow minds
Enjoyed the video. I see you have sampled every speaker in the KEF R line. Do you have a preference for one? If so, why? What would you recommend listening to for the same price range as the KEF R7? I am very interested in these speakers but want to make sure I am not missing out on another option that may be a better value.
Beautiful! I have a question: what is the device sitting on the very top of the rack? It has a silver face and is reminiscent of an old tube radio in its appearance? Great video - thanks!! Cheers - Luther
I demoed the original 704 10 years ago or so. Was impressed with its dynamic range given its size. Im under the impression this version is a bit brighter than the original. Anyone else feel the same?
There is a big mouse phenomenon. The center of the sound is bad because the center of the sound is in the middle. Good sound should have a low center of gravity
It is almost unlistenable in the treble. Sounds very bright through my Audio Technica monitor headphones. Is this the track or is the treble tilted in the speakers ?
It doesn't matter what manufacturer built these. Small point sources, stacked one on top of another, sound small and thin. The major axis in 99% of all musical sources is horizontal. More than one reviewer has commented that tower speakers are an enormous compromise on staging, so that those who listen in small apartments and other confined listening areas free-up their floor space. If humans had one ear on top of their heads and the on the chin, this configuration might sound normal.
@@berj79 I would never want to own speakers that sounds too bright.. Too fatiguing on the ears. But more importantly for me, it doesn't sound natural / realistic. But everyone has different preferences.
In person it’s not as sharp and you hear the detail in the treble. Whatever you’re listening on probably isnt a b&w carbon tweeter I just auditioned and on “take five” you can hear the wood hitting the cymbal. Its a lot of detail. At first it’s a little jarring. It’s like high quality head phones with stereo imaging in one experience
Most people don't like the music because of genre or so called "type of person" singing. Had this be "rock" or "classical music" all the comments would've be positive. Please get out of the Jim Crow state of mind people 🤔
