Hi Andrew, it's the celestion for me, i like the detail in the sound, try and get a pair of Ditton 44, now ,they really are nice speakers to hear. And thanks for the prompt reply yesterday. Cheers.
Two different speakes: the Celestions want a low power amp, the B&W works well with high power amp, I have both and I use a 200w-300w power amp with B&W. They sound so warm...lovely!✌🎼
Hoi André wauw goeie test. Mijn voorkeur gaat uit naar de celestions. De celestions zijn sprankeler en meer open kwa geluid. Het hoog is mooi helder. Ik heb gister avond een paar duson speakers gekocht. Spelen geweldig. Ik vind het heerlijk deze soundtests. Mvg André de vries.
Bedankt mooie test, ik vraag mij af of deze niet ideaal te combineren zijn. Ik heb Celetion 16 en ook B&w Matrix serie 2. Zou ze graag beiden laten spelen. Misschien wel de ultieme match.
Those B&W tweeters have ferrofluid in them, the Celestions don’t. Most likely the ferrofluid is dried up and blocking the coils giving the reduced output.
Yeah the B&W sounds more "darker" ,less crispy. But i don't know if it's normal or maybe the crossovers(elco's) of the B&W's The Celestions sounds very nice for my ears.
Je kunt op deze manier niet niet laten horen hoe speakers klinken! Speakers moet je altijd in echt horen en nooit via een video. uiteindelijk hoor je dan toch het geluid uit de speakers waar een ieder zijn video/audio op afspeelt. Dus dit heeft helaas geen enkele zin!
This is a situation where the BMWs are supposed to sound better `based solely on the "Name" ...while, HERE, they perform miserably. What one commenter regards as "warmth" is their lack of octave - to - octave (detail) & absence of dynamics • And tho' the Celestions may be filling the room with highs & more *detail, it is with brittle harshness ...more apparent in the absence of lows! * instruments in the background `readily move to the front! No they don't. This is the MK II version which is consumer market speakers The original DM2 had the HF1300. Just search for the tweeter model and then comeback to this video and look at the tweeters.
@@noga8974 are you electronics savvy because I got a question. Got this pair of Sony SS1005 made by B&W for Sony in the UK probably in the 70's. The speakers have dual setup with a bass/midrange speaker and a mids/treble speaker. As you can imagine the sound is quite warm and is missing the treble quite a bit. Now I have a pair of tweeters from an Acoustic Research AR18LS and I was just wondered If I could make holes and connect these to the existing mids/treble driver. I'm wondering if I would not increase the ohm on the speakers and overload the amp or put too much stress on the capacitors in the crossover. Any ideas
Room acoustics bad to,could be a lot better too many reflections crappy cable management,you are still learning Andrew,a carpet and some heavy curtains and you are in audio nirvana,I know you will not change a thing,but room treatment and power and cable managment do matter on systems that are well matched,but not in your bathroom like living room .10 years from now you will agree ,after 50 years listening to good stuff.Your reviews are amusing but not useful fore me.c est la vie ..Everybody has an own opinion,and nobody knows it all,groeten uit Tilburg.
