B5 S4 Transmission Axle Flange Play 

I recently had my transmission rebuilt and just got through the clutch braking period. The front of the car had a strange click at low RPMs especially when turning. Thinking a failing CV I replaced both front CV axles. No change. When replacing the axles I noticed about 1/8” of in and out play at the axle flanges of the transmission.
Is this amount of play normal?
