I just got this board after returning my B550 Aorus Master - found out the mouse lag was caused by the AMD Adrenaline software - in my case. Asrock just a new customer because of my frustration with drivers and BIOS. I liked the look of this B550 and the fact that is supported USB c on my front panel.
I'm just gonna say it even though everybody's B550 boards aren't out yet: This has got to be the sexiest mobo I've seen in a long time. The Taichi boards are just on another level! I love the aesthetic so much lol.
Thank you!! Been looking for this update! Really appreciate it! I hope you can now make a video for Gigabyte B550 VISION D. I bet everyone would love to see this especially with how sleek it looks!
I'm dying to see more on this board too! It would definitely be an interesting one to check out as it's marketed towards 'creators'. Please gear seekers, Pleeeaase!!!
Interesting that ASRock has a silkscreen for a Thunderbolt header on the B550 Taichi but opted to leave out the header. The X570 Taichi actually has the Thunderbolt 3 header so I guess that is differentiating feature between entry level, mid and high-end. I like that the M.2 heat sinks are individual separate pieces because the X570 Taichi only had a single big slab for all three M.2 slots. Nice board overall, really nice bit of kit.
This seems to be very good B550 board for the price! a) 8-sata ports, for home NAS! b) Wifi-6 c) Intel 2.5G lan d) POST debug LED!!! e) rear bios reset button! f) front usb 3.1 gen2 type-c And loads more. And all for 170 euros! Oh man!
Gear Seekers are all geared up for this awesome gear featuring actual gears that definitely don't grind my gears, but maybe they grind Richard Gere's gears? :P
Just a PSA for anyone who orders this motherboard, on the X570 Taichi the WiFi didn’t work until the drivers were updated. Luckily Taichi bios makes it extremely easy to update drivers but don’t be alarmed if your WiFi doesn’t work
Hi Nik. I use the driver disks. I glue felt to the bottom them and use them for drink coasters. In regards to B550, I think they are kind of pointless. I already have two X570 mobo's, so B550 is too little to late as far as I'm concerned.
Despite of cool look, x570 taichi one of the most badly designed mb, its feels unfinished, raw. In terms of components/how they placed, like you cant use usb-c internal connector, its blocked by gpu, air from gpu goes directly on chipset (some other models have same problem) etc.
$299.99 is a 300 dollar board high end more like x570 territory price market. Very nice board i feel like b550s are aimed hire then the previous b450 and b350.
Am I missing something, this is the same price as the x570 taichi, why would you take this over x570 unless you really hate the chipset fan. Why does this board exist?
Is it the lightning of the studio, but does the heat sinks look bronze instead of the usual Taichi silver? Also, I hope Gigabyte sends you the B550 Vision D
Not sure which board I want yet. I know with the rog stickers I get 25 more fps but if I get the msi or aorus stickers they give 15 hp to my car. Which one should I get?
Just one correction, try to synchronize your voice when pointing out the motherboard ports. It's a bit rushing with the voice. Otherwise,We love your reviews. ❤❤❤ You'll be crossing 100k subs really soon.
This is the mobbo I keep having wet dreams about lately haha 🤣 It have everything I want OK maybe it could have had 2 more USB ports at the back and the POST CODE LCD could have been placed in the upper right corner rather then at the bottom where it is at risk for being obscured by a GPU especially when mounted vertically like I plan to do. But other then those minor complaints I think this is the perfect B550 and the best looking as well. Gear Seekers you said something about the back LED strip and about missing a LED header what is that all about? Because you mentioned that this board have both 12V RGB and 5 Volt ARGB headers on the board so that part confused me?
Here's the scenario where you use a CD-ROM drive. You have no drivers whatsoever, you can't get on the internet through your computer, and the USB ports don't work either. That's the only scenario where a CD-ROM drive saves you. Of course that CD-ROM drive will have to be plugged in SATA and not USB.
