F-35 LANDS ON HIGHWAY STRIP IN FINLAND - BAANA23 

Welcome to Baana 23 Road Base Exercise of the Finnish Air Force! See how different fighter types land on a regular road somewhere in the forests of Eastern Finland.
Road bases are essential for the Finnish Air Force in a time of crisis. Baana 23 is an exercise by the Finnish Air Force to train pilots and ground crews to use these road bases. It's all about survivability and dispersion of troops and equipment to concentrate force where needed to repel and push back any assailant.
This time the Finnish Air Force was joined by F-35A's of the Royal Norwegian Air Force and Eurofighter Typhoons of the RAF. It was the first time ever these aircraft types landed on a road base.
And what a day we had in the road base! A true show of force and capabilities within NATO.
