Imagine if they actually played something from Bilateral live... Stellar drummer but people forgot Tobias who is also a god-tier drummer. Also, for those of you that don't know, check out In Vain's "Currents" because Baard drums on it and only then will you get why he is truly among the modern greats.
holy s**t! this is one of the most amazing drumming arrangements I have ever seen in about 30 years of metal, prog and whatever I have been listening so far in my life. I see something inspired by Gavin Harrison, something else by Mario Duplantier...and so on...but with a sort of added value, very impressive and unique style!
Just found Leprous on accident tonight, instant fan. Don’t know why I haven’t heard of them yet, soo happy to. I’m a huge TOOL fan, Meshuggah, deathmetal, some Black Metal, prog... the singing, chords, guitars and of course this drumming are just blowing me away, and every song is great, wow
There's a drummer that did 4 over 5 over 6 over 7 live, I just can't remember his name. Played with Steve Vai if I am not mistaken. Should look that up. :D
Watch mike mangini playing 17/16 over 10/16, pretty amazing. Baards groove is also pretty amazing! Love when there are still amazing and real drummers rising!
That's my favorite drummer right there, yes he is. As much as I love the drumming on Malina I think that this version is even tastier and fuller, you're a sick dude.
@@PierreVilleneuve88I just did. She isn’t in this guys league. It’s like they’re playing different instruments. Just because someone is a girl, doesn’t mean you need to lower the bar.
I had the pleasure of seeing you play live in Eindhoven last Thursday, and I have to say, it blew me the fuck away. Keep doing what you're doing, Baard- you (and Leprous as a whole) rock!
Although I'm ambivalent on the last couple of Leprous albums, these drum videos always give me extra appreciation for the craft involved. Just an absurd amount of talent here.
Re-inventing drumming ! Such a bless you post your playthrough(s), Baard. At last, we can appreciate the sickness of it all. Frankly, what is the matter with lighting on live shows ??? Most of the time, the audience can't see anything of the beauty of your so specific and thrilling way of torturing drums !!! Been on several LEPROUS 2018 concerts and each time, same punishment : you are out of range of light, way behind in the dark. Frustrating, that's for sure. It's a shame cos' it's so fascinating to watch... catchy, hypnotic and always surprising. This one is absolute mind blowing. !!!!
Absolutely awesome, Baard! Thank you for showing us the magic behind the kit on this one! As I've said before, your passion for your music really shows.
What strikes me most about his drumming is his orchestrations. Perfect compositions. Which as all musicians would know is the single most important thing
Seriously one of the most interesting drummers out there. Every time I see that creativity and energy you have I get so inspired. Thank you so much for pushing the limits like that. We all love you
Astounding performance! The main groove in this song sounds very Donati-esque inspired. Excellent work. Looking forward to seeing you folks in Chicago tonight.
Love it!! Songs that are composed from a drum beat come up always very good and original... Another good example : Porcupine Tree - The start of something beautiful
Nice T-Shirt, Baard! Oh, and yes... great as always. Never dissapointing! I love this playful playthrough. Although, I'm a real fan of your "I've lost my drum stick, but never mind! I'm picking another one up and nothing happened here!" Rewind playthrough.
Honestly Baard... i love the band, i love you as a drummer, and i will figure out a way to see you guys play live. but i am a south african and it will be difficult for me to get there, so i would really like to meet all of you. thanks for giving me grooves to enjoy
Come on man! How I'm suppose to make any kind of progress with my own drumming everytime when I see your performace. Incredible! Everything! You are moving the border to complete different universe! Love you drumming, it's so fun, technical and complex! Keep it up!
One of the most creative drummers I've seen in years!.... he will be a Legend in drumland like Mike Portnoy, Gavin Harrison, Danny Carey and Neal Peart.
I kinda get it, but then again Gavin is really subtle and calm, while Baard goes full rampage every time. I don't get how someone can look so chaotic and out of control yet play so precise, tasty and groovy.
On est d'accord ! J'aime beaucoup le fait qu'il rajoute certaines choses par rapport à la version studio. Ce n'est pas qu'une simple démonstration de l'originale ! Hâte de voir leur évolution.
