Baard took Leprous as a band to the next level. Now they are my favorite band today, and back in 2008 when i first heard Tall Poppy i thought they were 'pretty good' now i think they are AMAZING MIND BLOWING TRAIL BLAZERS

People arguing about how good this guy is on a quantitative level... shut up and go play some fuckin' drums. The guy plays like a beast... people dig it... why waste energy on the hate.

@Agatio230 oh absolutely! When I was in 8th grade I had groupies and I thought I was the great 'guy' on drums until I studied with one of the finest teachers in the world and he immediatley saw my weakness with keeping perfect time. I literally had to start over and learn with a metronome. Just playing along to recordings is not the same. The recording is keeping time! To be spot on perfect you must work out with a light metronome. It will change your perspective. drummers job 1 Time!

@Agatio230 Why is everyone sayin Dylan Elise. He's slightly not as good but there both amazing and I understand ur opinion. I dont know of several drummerz. That play a variety like him to me to be technically better is who can play the most styles and be over average at of em.

@MetalJuggler I do agree that you can't say whose the best, but when there's a large enough gap, you can say whose better. I think keyboard is the only instrument where there is an undisputed best in the world. And trumpet too technically, but Maynard's Ferguson's not alive...

yeah that's cause of the distortion. but i think it's related to the mikes, cause those mikes can't eat the frequency spectrum the drums are putting out.

@guyplh Have you ever played on a V-Drum-Kit? It's damn hard to keep the beat with the doubelbass.You don't have any resistance,its a whole different feeling in opposite to a regular drum.I can play the drums, but i'm struggling damn hard on v-drums.

Hehe, yes it is if you pronounce the A's. However, in Norwegian double A, is pronounced like the O in the English word "Bored". So his name is closer to "Bored" really.

Offcourse it is a lot of drummers that is better than him, but in this contest Baard won and therefore can take the creds for it :) Dylan should join and if he wins he will have the same publicity. best regards psk

It's all really quite subjective. If Baard makes you wet yourself enjoy! I always take issue with that whole "the best" thing. For me no one in my lifetime comes even close to what Buddy Rich did in the impossible drum solo. But for sheer listening pleasure I will take Steve Gadd today over any other. The 'fill' work he did on AJA was masterful and techniqually brilliant. Above all though, just fun to listen to.

I'm sure there is some dutch words that means something random in Norway too! ;D

this is just hilarious! I make one little comment and you weenies go all nuts. Sheeesh. Just my view. Y'know I think the kid is great, but I just prefer a little less show and a lot more discipline to cadence.It's loose, that's the style, but take it from someone who has played drums for half a century he would be more impressive to us old guys if he would maintain a steady rhythm. He keeps doing fancy little riffs but do they make a cohesive composition? I don't care for it.no musicality.

How is this the world championships? I've seen several drummers way better. I know several better. What's more, I'm actually better. Not by much granted, but i don't see how he's at a world championships, and im not. And before i receive hate comments, go check out Dylan Elise, and tell me this guy's better.
