In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about the Battle of Rati Ghati and the umbrella of the Mughal Prince. The Battle of Rati Ghati was a clash between Rajput resilience and Mughal might. Rao Jai Singh of Bikaneer faced off against Kamran Mirza, son of the Mughal emperor Babur.
A unique aspect of the battle was its duration - nearly 21 hours, stretching through day and night. Facing a larger Mughal force, Rao Jai Singh employed innovative tactics. He is said to have used a large number of cattle with torches tied to their horns, creating the illusion of a vast approaching army and causing panic amongst the Mughals at night.
