Trina Chatterjee is a versatile singer trained in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music. She is equally adept at and semi-classical forms of Thumri, Bhajan, Ghazal and Rabindra Sangeet. Trina has 2 successful albums, 'Mitti' and 'Geeli Mitti' to her credit, under the label of Mystica Music.
Here is 'Babul Mora Naihar Chhooto Hi Jaaye...', the legendary thumri in the version of Trina Chatterjee. It is set to Raga Bhairavi. Being a thumri, the raga essentially becomes 'Mishra' in form allowing aesthetic liberties to the singer.

One of the greatest comment, yet hidden, holds so much in it, which can't be calculated. Pranaam. Sonali, you would never understand and would always lack and crave what you crave even when that magic you look for hides in the plain hindsight. Maybe you should learn from the man who wrote this comment that what allowed him to write it. I have been listening to this song by various artists for the last few days. Wajid Ali Shah the king of Awadh ( Oudh ) had written this at the time of his banishment from his kingdom. This was so poignant , the words had created a lump in any throat. Today when I heard this rendition the pent up dam burst and tears flowed forth. These seven or eight lines have so much of pathos and the rendition. Divine.
