I love how you have thought about not having Eloise in videos when she gets to school age. Though I know we will all miss her! I'm a tiny bud in this RU-vid space and currently pregnant with my first. I'm also considering a lot of our child's privacy and not many youtubers talk about it. So I'm glad you did 😊

BTW: I LOVE YOUR STYLE!!! I think it suites your personality (from what we an see) to the T! One of the reasons I love your channel is because its so calm and serene and cozy (if that makes sense) and I think your "aesthetic" has so much to do with that. Being YOU Is very important. I never understood why some people feel SO INCLINED to give out their opinions.. Really.. Sending much love from VA! ❤❤❤❤

I really can't imagine you getting frustrated/snapping/etc. for some reason, but none the less, I really appreciate your honesty about stuff like that, that's one of the things that really makes me like you a lot. You're just really down to earth and honest and real and that's pretty rare these days, I think. It takes a LOT to get me angry/frustrated, but it does happen and I try really hard to not be grumpy in front of my little one, and even though she can't talk yet, I always tell her I'm sorry if I curse in front of her or get angry about something. Also, your dedication to your faith is so inspiring to me. I really like how comfortable you are talking about it. I'm trying so hard to be a better Christian and get my remaining sin under control a little better, and you really inspire me in that department.

It‘s not just okay, it‘s the best you can do! The bible is the living word. It has such a power and it‘s not at all about being religious. Try to think about it as a personal relationship with the Lord of the lords and the creator of the universe - how amazing is that! May the Lord bless you and speak to you through his word ❤️

@VJ-rr5do
@VJ-rr5do 4 года назад
@@chiraine1 I saved myself even though I had the option not to. Just because we were young doesn't mean we couldn't have slept with someone before or with each other before we were married. Legally we were adults when we got married and now are living a wonderful life with each other! Everyone has a different age that is right for them to get married at. We personally knew it was the right time. That doesn't mean everyone should get married that young though! We in the end wanted to honor God with our minds and bodies and we ended up doing that! I don't regret a thing! 🙂

I recently did a study over Genesis and my mind was completely BLOWN! I had never studied it in the same way as I did this time around and I learned so much! It was insane. I found such comfort in the fact that no matter how much sin I fall into, I still won’t mess up God’s plan or his grace toward me! It was such a beautiful time in my studying and I have a much deeper appreciation of the Old Testament now!

You said you would let your children “speak to and mingle with” people with different beliefs and religion from yours but would you let them be friends? Would you welcome them into your home?
@choosnau
@choosnau 4 года назад
I'm curious too. Religion is not synonymous with being a good person. I'd hope they would have their home open to anyone who's worthy of respect regardless of beliefs
@kenedideutschman6242
@kenedideutschman6242 4 года назад
@@choosnau I'm curious about that too. I've noticed that Delilah and I have very similar beliefs and Christian backgrounds (we both come from Mennonite families) and what I was taught growing up was that we welcome everyone regardless of belief and that they are to be respected if they are worthy of respect. The Bible teaches that Jesus walked and ate with sinners, but he did not act or do what the sinners did. In modern terms, Jesus spent time with and valued people with different beliefs and/or values but did not act in what they did or do what they believed if he didn't believe it in his heart! So growing up I learned that I am to welcome and respect people regardless of belief but that I shouldn't indulge myself in things that I do not hold to be true or that would be of immoral value (and I mean in anything, not just religion, like if a kid pressured me to smoke I wouldn't smoke because I know that it is bad for my health, likewise I wouldn't pray to multiple gods in a different religion if I do not believe in that religion, but I would definitely and absolutely respect and spend time with the people who do because they are worthy of love!!) I hope that helps, at least from another point of view. Of course, I can't speak for Delilah!
@nicoleko2335
@nicoleko2335 4 года назад
It really interests me too. Tbh I'm Jewish and i love watching Delilah's videos. even tho i don't particularly identify with Christian beliefs i do identify with family values ( which obviously exists in most religion) and the value of love which is very prominent in her videos. As a really non religious people i do believe people are more than their religion. Even tho ur religion is a certain part of you your humanity and heart are the most important. Plus most people will not try to convert you, just be friendly.

The prefrontal cortex of the brain is not fully developed in humans until the end of adolescence, which is about age 22 years, actually. This is partially why toddlers have tantrums and teenagers are sure adults don't understand them and all youngsters can make bad choices. The control mechanisms are not fully in place yet to make wise choices and postpone gratification and exercise self-control when angry, etc. Do you have friends now or was marriage a way to get a friend? I think you've mentioned friends. The Hebrew Scripture stories are not all literal: many are histories, many are allegories, many are metaphorical, many are origin stories. You dress yourself and your children and your home in lovely, warm, neutrals that have a certain dignity of design. There is no need for all of us to dress like loud clowns.

I’m confused as why so many people ask like if you would let your kids be friends with someone who don’t have the religion. Like ? Is that big of a thing if I was more of a religious person I wouldn’t force my kids to follow that or force them to not be friends with certain people and I feel like that’s what’s she’s going for she’s teaching her kids to enjoy the religion and being with I’ll say lord. Jsut because your apart of a religion doesn’t mean you don’t have to be super strict and force them. If your child doesn’t want to follow it as much yiu that’s fine you showed your child that and they can with that as they please ,if they want to be friends with people who don’t believe it let them.... is that so surprising of a Christian family to allow people to be friends witn people who aren’t ig? Idk I’m just confused on the amount of things I’ve seen about this sorry for the rant or possibly controversial comment don’t mean to offend anyone just saying my point about it 👍
@Mika-rx5ji
@Mika-rx5ji 4 года назад
Well a lot of families aren’t like that. Some parents feel so protective over their religion and how their kids perceive it, that they would rather them not mingle with anyone who doesn’t share that same belief and keep them in an echo chamber, in that stopping them from having an opinion of their own on the topic. People are asking because it’s an important topic and one that can completely change your view on a person. Not that surprising but people can be incredibly closed minded when it comes to religion.

Psych undergrad here! During puberty (approx ages 13-21) the brain is going through a lot of development. The brain's "gas pedal," aka the amygdala, is pressed to the /floor/ and it basically means you are being driven by your limbic system, aka your emotions, rather than rational thought and logic. So, often times there are many many regrettable decisions and actions. 🤷‍♀️

You need to be more confident in your words, for the sake of you and your peace of mind. If you don't mean it with bad intentions then you shouldn't feel bad about it. I know this isn't easy because I've struggled with it in the past also, I don't like to be unpolite so I refrain to say things that might hurt but if something is wrong I'm not going to not say it because that makes me just not like that person to the point that I don't care that she/he is doing something wrong and that it can hurt her/him. So I will say it because I like them =D I hope I made myself understand because I also have problems talking and am shy most of the time

I know that this video is from years ago but I still want to open up because this so relevant. even more as a guy I can agree and I can share honest I wish I would have waited like I wanted to at 1st when I was younger, but as I got older made the foolish decision and mistake to do that. I feel so horrible about that and more so that now I feel I have ruined my chances of ever getting blessed and grace to get married if I even could find a woman who will care about and want me and love me even with all I done especially regarding this. Even though I'm committing to stop and repent and become chastised and abstinent hope that I get purified again for God for the rest of my life and future wife if I still even can have a wife. But either way I refuse to continue to hurt myself or use others to that false pleasure and desire that is not worth it over what is worth it whether I get married or not I still want God and to be pure for God and myself and others I could reach out to stop them from making the same mistakes especially guys because they dont care mostly and understand and see that the way the are being now is what they will be for their future wife that's why I want to change in that area to become the man I need to be for my future wife and what she wants me to be and show love to her even now before meeting her. It's the least I can do now since I won't be able to give her the virginity I should have. I hurt and I'm sad and scared I let things that didn't matter or was right possibly ruin or destroy a reality of having a beautiful godly gorgeous woman princess and queen, that I know despite what I done and how I been that I will treat and love her right and cherish her and respect and appreciate her and do anything I must for her and become and be a her protector and provider and best friend and want no other. I know I can because that's what I want that i ALWAYS really wanted and desired, not all the wrong things I did. But I feel like it's just a dream or something that will never happen because I choose wrong in the past and it has been took away by my own foolish choices. It's hard for me to see and believe that a godly beautiful gorgeous good woman would want me no matter what even with the past diminishes I made that she will show goodness and love and forgiveness and acceptance and grace and still want me. But maybe by God and his will and God being really in her that will be still possible, if so I hope to become the man I need to be in all the right ways and none of the wrong and to live in the present not the past and do better and right. But I hope whether God will give me a wife or not that I will be at peace and free from my past and not ever again do those things and be and live pure and abstinent but I cant express the emotions and heart and soul and love I would express to and in God that if he would still give me a wife because of the love and goodness and grace and mercy and care he has for me and heart for me to still do so if it's his will despite anything I done and also to give me a woman who will show the same. I cant comprehend and fathom that and how much I would truly show always in anyway I can to express my gratitude and thankfulness. whether it happens or not but I hope somehow someway God STILL WILL!.

I so enjoyed this, glad to hear you are brushing up on the Old Testament. I'm in First Samuel. Interesting lessons in there.

I started this last year. I'm in Psalms and it feels like a whole year😅 especially with how little I care for poetry😄 couldn't have imagined how it has changed me

What motivated you to start your RU-vid channel? I’ve been contemplating starting a motherhood channel but I have no idea where to begin!

YES, I read through the entire bible for the first time last year and I was so shocked. Some of the most popular bible characters did so many sinful things. Although challenging, reading through the Old Testament taught me so much more about God's faithfulness and emphasized the importance of Jesus' sacrifice!

Oh my lord, having the same love languages is HUGE. Mine is 100% physical touch...not only is that not my husband's love language--he actively DISLIKES being touched, so it would never naturally occur to him to express affection for me through touch. I'd say at least 80-90% of our most difficult problems have stemmed from this.

It's so interesting how many RU-vidrs (myself included) are introverts! I've felt a bit like a walking contradiction because my introversion makes me naturally more private and quiet, but being on RU-vid requires being more chatty and open. I do love it though!

I love your channel, your cute family and your style. ♡ Our baby girl does wear pink and other bright colours but that's just because I like it on her. I personally would never wear that. ;-) Like you said, everybody has their own taste and style. Also, try not to take negative comments or messages too personal. It's not about you. Some people are just looking for something to pick on or get upset about. You see it all over social media... :-( Love from Germany ♡

Hi! Love your channel - we have kiddos the exact same ages :) I have two boys and my oldest enjoys watching your DITL with me when I nurse my youngest boy. For reading the Bible, I recommend the app called Read Scripture. It's made by the Bible Project and does an amazing job helping you view the Bible as a whole story and it also has many videos that help your understanding of the text, too. I highly recommend - it's amazing ♥️

Love your videos just putting that there! You got me into RU-vid vlogs and by far my fav! I agree 100% with your thoughts on your style... that’s your style and from watching you from the beginning it was hard for you like so many young adults to find your style and you have. I am pretty much like you with my style, simplistic, natural, earthy tones, but I do have w bit of Eloise in me that I LOVE PINK, “pink,pink,pink”😂. You be you all of you! Love what makes you happy !

PLEASE READ DELILAH: Although me and my family do not agree in the same religious views 100% I feel like I want to give a special thanks to you. I always find your videos very calming (as I am sure you have heard already) and very realistic for any parent. I've watched you since before my daughter was born, she will be celebrating her 2nd birthday at the end of the month and I am so thankful that there is such an amazing channel like yours on RU-vid. You are real, you are honest and there is not that many channels out there currently that I could honestly say are as honest in terms of parenting especially in these difficult times as your channel. Your videos is a way for fellow parents like myself to escape and understand that we are not perfect, there are good and bad days but we do the best we can under the circumstances. YOU ARE DOING AN AMAZING JOB. As difficult as it might seem at times, please don't put pressure on yourself. The most authentic version of yourself is the best version of yourself. People love you for being YOU. If you have the capacity to do so film the crazy or most honest versions of yourself because that is the thing that keeps viewers like me coming back to you every time you upload. If you don't want to film it, then please don't. Just know that you have an audience, and we are committed and please don't feel like you have to edit in a way that puts you or your family under any stress. I commend you for everything you do while parenting two young children and wish nothing but the very BEST for your family 😊

Recommendation! I use The Bible Recap with Tara Leigh Cobble to reap the Old Testament. After each segment she gives a short summary of what she learned from the passage. It's amazing especially for those long genealogies!

Hey Delilah! I’m not sure what version of the Bible you use, but the ESV Gospel Transformation Study Bible is SUPER helpful when reading the Old Testament. The study notes help to so clearly point to the future coming of Jesus and it helps so much with the heaviness that can come with the OT.

The way you dress yourself, and your kids, has actually changed the way I think about clothes. It has opened my eyes to being more mindful and selective regarding pieces I purchase, rather than the constant cycle of trends in fast fashion. It is so simple, but I have never thought about sticking to a colour or tone range, but your wardrobe opened my eyes to that possibility. It has changed the way I feel about my clothing and makes it less stressful for me to plan outfits. (I also am drawn to natural earth tones most of the time, but felt pressure from images around me to wear bright colours... and to not be the girl who always wears "that" colour/tone, but it never felt 100% comfortable).I feel like this is something that people don't tend to do, especially when it comes to children/baby clothes. I am also an introvert... so that could also be why I'm drawn to the calmness and comforting earth tones rather than "non-ignorable" bright colours. 😅
