Please tell me that y’all aren’t serious. You know that doe’s tell their fawns to hide and she runs away hoping for the predators to follow her. Fawns have no scent and excellent camouflage so are much safer hiding than with her. The best thing you can do is look, and leave them alone. If you are concerned they’ve been abandoned, come back every day for three days. Doe’s will look for their fawns for three days, if the fawns are still hiding after three days, they are abandoned. Odds are in this case the doe heard the truck, gave her fawns the hide signal and bolted.
What adorable little babies. Fawns are the sweetest things, and it is amazing how they very patiently just stay exactly where their mama puts them and wait for her to come back and get them. Too cute!
leverets (young hares) do the same as well. They stay in a hollow and wait for the doe to come suckle them. The doe leaves them again immediately after feeding, which might seem uncaring, but is in fact for protection. It's to minimise scent round the offspring that might attract predators.
Gleaming, Twinkling Eyes like sinking Ships on waters So inviting, I almost jump in. I don't like a gold rush, gold rush I don't like anticipating my face in a red flush I don't like that anyone would die to feel your touch Everybody wants you Everybody wonders what it would be like to love you Walk past, quick brush I don't like slow motion double vision in rose blush I don't like that falling feels like flying until the bone crush Everybody wants you But I don't like a gold rush What must it be like To grow up that beautiful? With your hair falling into place like dominoes My mind turns your life into folklore I can't dare to dream about you anymore At dinner parties Won't call you out on your contrarian things And the coastal town We never found will never See a love as pure as it Cause it fades into the gray of my day old tea Cause it will never be Gleaming, Twinkling Eyes like sinking Ships on waters so inviting, I almost jump in.
Awwww this is TOO PRECIOUS 💞💕. Two beautiful fawns!! 🥰🥰🥰. So this is so lucky for us to get to see this!! Sending love to the fawns of the mama 🦌 deer.
We found a new-born fawn next to the spigot at side of our house in spring of 2023, it was late morning. Baby fawn sooo frail - couldn't walk, she just lay there curled up against the foundation. My wife was startled by the little fawn when she went to unwind the water hose for the burn pile. So, what did we do? We went about our day - yard work, cleaning the yard raking burn pile etc. We kept an eye on her, but we stayed clear and NO touching. Mama showed up around mid afternoon - and fetched her little baby ... she got up immediately wobbled over to mama and the feeding began. These two still come by almost daily - they are doing very well.
@Grannvale Flame Emperor They'll live longer, but their quality of life will be worse. Unless you live on a huge farm, they won't be happy no matter how much attention you give them. Plus, think of how scared their mom will be.
@Grannvale Flame Emperor would it really be as happy as it would when living in the wild close to it's mother? It's very selfish for humans to claim wild animals as "their's".
@Aye_Aye _Atlantic Either way I believe it's better that wild animals are free , most people don't own big houses or have gardens so it's somewhat prisoning. I have no problem if they let the animals run and get the chance to feel free. Most animals are not meant to live in a house. They will be much safer in a home and definitely live for much longer but they have wild instincts. It's better for you to visit them often rather than living with them in the same house. Just an opinion I don't mean to offend anyone ^^
At first I read your comment and thought “that’s weird, I haven’t seen any comments mention Bambi yet...” The FIRST comment I see directly below yours just says *” B A M B I “.* XD I’m fucking done!
So, for anyone who's confused: baby deer get left alone by their mothers all the time. Their coat is built to blend in, so it's the mother's job to make sure they're in a safe place before going off to forage or whatever they do, then they come back. The fawns do not have instincts to run, because they have to stay in one place so the mother can find them.
but isn't a road like the least safest place. Now I understand a deer mother doesn't probably understand how dangerous a road is. But just looking at the road you can clearly see the bambies are not camouflaged at all. So alone that gives me the obvious vibes of 'this is not a good place to leave my babies.' She probably did do that for the reason you are telling us. But I am concerned about what this mum sees as save and not save. One bear or wolf on that road and they would have been dead.
I hope their real mom was about somewhere and that the deer weren't orphaned or abandoned. I also was concerned they might get run over since they didn't seem to show any fear.
That's adorable, and the guy did the right thing, too! Mama deer sometimes leave their babies in people's yards or close by humans because they know other predators don't like us, so it's best to just leave 'em where you found them. What little cuties!
@@jodielynne3687 This has nothing to do with the video but I am wondering what does it mean when someone leaves a "0" comment?. Please do answer. Thank you.
This was a delightful video. Smart logger too. He knew not to touch them, put his scent on them, which would cause rejection from their mother. Pretty sure he hustled them into the bushes to prevent trucks from running over them. Love logger's beautiful sense of wonderment at nature! For nature is indeed filled with so many wonders 🌿❤️🌿
I found an abandoned baby deer on the road one day a few years ago. That deer has lived with me for 4 years now and he's never been better. I get some weird looks though because nobody expects somebody to have a deer with them. Now just to clarify: The mother completely abandoned the deer.
@@martingonzalezcapriles3569 Right? Like idk maybe somewhere else would give a damn, but here in America... it's up to us to care for the creatures bc our shelters are constantly shutting down due to low volunteers/unsatisfactory wages for employees, etc.
@@FriedFreya thats _very_ sad knowing that in VENEZUELA, one of the poorest countries in the world, shelters work better than in the USA. (I'm from Venezuela, not currently living there)
This is a pretty good camera for something that was recorded in 2011 Edit: I'm simply stating normal filming / photography cameras for like that time period / phone cameras. I'm not stating movie cameras. Okay? Everyone calm down. I'm stating how amazing it is that normal cameras have became like 4k even better quality nowadays. And that this normal camera was a good camera regarding the time this video was taken.
@Bruh Moment The mom might be dead, so it could be better if he does and then helps it relearn how to thrive in the wild once it’s full grown. Similar to catch and release.
@Halkiirk instead of cutiing down trees and letting their seeds spread just plant seeds naturallly by waiting for their seeds instead of cutting yhem down.
Bruh Moment well, that they are doing is cutting down trees, but they legally have to replant them most of the time. the forest is going to grow back. and you can see in the last shot as well it is severely overgrown.
They actually have to to maintain a healthy forest. They don't usually cut those trees down on which there are nests and usually they cut 1 out of 3 or 5 trees, they'll also prioritize those which are already dead so it's not that they're destroying forests.
Well, I guess the deer doesn't know that they cut the trees because the forest is "overgrown" or that they replant some or if they cut down 1 in 3 or whatever
@@illmatic826 Amazing dude. 🙄🙄 by the way why on earth would you waste your ammo on a Fawn that wont even try to run away from a Coyote? God you are special.
@@regullarmango4151 that’s a myth, when I was 6 me and my mom saved a baby deer from our dogs and we touched it plenty. The mother still came back for it, we saw with our own eyes.
@@regullarmango4151 I thought only cats do that Since a street cat abandoned her kitten after someone in my neighborhood took the kitten for a week and then when they tried returning She was so deadly. She scratched her own cub 💀
Honestly, deer is one animal that is so friendly and easy to domesticate that it’s a wonder they aren’t pets despite horses being such. These creatures are right up there with dogs and dolphins. Very friendly and docile.
Not that docile--they will get so excited, even violent if they sense anything, whether threatening or just a surprise or unknown. Their antlers grow back every year and can kill. Their hooves can kill as well. We have deer in my neighborhood--if they are visiting, I stay inside until they leave. They can kick a dog, or but anyone or anything with antlers. Love them without imputing Bambi to them. They need their ferocity to survive. But yes, they seem so sweet and do not pick fights or prey on others. A nice example. I let them eat anything in my garden. Never poison or use artificial crap on the plants so they are safe. They sleep under my trees sometimes--I find everything squashed 😴🤫😉 But I take care not to let them feel cornered. I find them right up on the porch when they think I'm not there or asleep. Open my door right into them sometimes!--I close it to let them get away safely before I go out. But they seem to feel at home when I'm inside or gone. They nibble everything the books say they don't, like hardy geraniums... I have a big bird feeder, maybe that makes them feel like animals own this house?
Actually, there is one domesticated deer species. It's the reindeer (also known as caribou if you live in North America), and they're used by Scandinavians for pulling sleds. Unfortunately making them wide-scale pets is impossible unless you live where it's super cold.
HOW did he resist petting them oh my god, I know you are not supposed to since they are wild but dang it would've taken every ounce of my will not to stroke those cute little friendly babies
Since Deer are ruminants, the Babies will imprint and bond with almost any animal, especially if that animal reacts benevolently. The Fawn here senses a very gentle, kind hearted ...sort of Giant Ape Creature! These Apes are weird! They wear clothes and go around in these machine monsters! They're really scary looking but they're so nice and friendly!💗
Ruminants are animals that eat grass and store it over longer periods of time in a special stomach, right? How does this co-relate with their personality traits?
Most likely they were moving about until the truck approached. Their instinct is to get into the position they were found in and remain perfectly still. I cannot explain what motivated the first one to approach the man. I would imagine that is quite unnatural. Many times I have pulled over on busy highways where fawns were hanging out close to the roadway with the intent to drive them back into the woods and out of harms way. In all cases, I never got this close as they fled back into the woods just as I hoped they would. They are such precious and gentle creatures.
When I was twelve years old, I rode my bike to a park with a big forest nearby on the daily. The bike trail had loads of greenery, and the trail was pretty rough. I accidentally rode too far on the edge, and fell off my bike. It was a little bit of a fall, just behind some bushes. But I was eye-to-eye with a fawn. The poor thing looked as startled as I was. It’s one of my favorite experiences with nature. I hope the fawn had a good life.
My experience on the forest floor was much worse--the heat got to me and I just about passed out a few hundred feet into the forest. Lay down very fast to the side of the trail (to May Lake up in Tuolemne Meadows, Yosemite's high country). I was there for about 15 min till the dizziness passed. When I got to my feet a snake slithered away.... I've been told it was a safe snake, black with green stripe(?s) the length of it...they don't bite. I scared it as much as it scared me, but I practically stripped on the trail to make sure none of its friends were along for the ride. Today it's funny but then it seemed like the worst day ever. My druggie sister had kept me waiting in the parking lot for nearly an hour in 90+ temps. Then nausea, the snake...I was waiting for a bear to be blocking the path or worse. I love your story. Kind of ET!
Every now and then this pops back up and I always watch it again... and again... something about the innocence of nature... besides that is one cute fawn...
Friday 28th April 2023. What a brave and beautiful fawn! I hope he or she grows up into a beautiful, healthy and strong stag or doe. Bless all Animals and all kind People who rescue them. Love from Virginia Clark.?! ;) ;( :) 😃❤🦌🐇🐦🐿🐠🐢.

In its first days a fawn’s instincts are to stay absolutely still and quite. They possess no smell for a predator to detect. So that is their best defence. Usually they are hidden in tall grass or under a bush while the mother forages . They aren’t “ afraid to move” . They are doing what thousand of years of evolution have “ taught” them to do.
Their mom was probably watching them the entire time. That truck was so loud, those babies might not have heard her calling them back into the woods so their natural curiosity took over. Luckily the person they encountered was a kind soul and they weren't harmed or taken as pets. Those babies were healthy. I've had my share of fawns under my care and I know what malnourished, abandoned babies look like and these guys are fine. 💕
Amen, but please referrr. To Fawns not babies. The vast majority of commmenters have only seen wild animals in cartoons and they jump at the chance to apply human traits to wild animals they dont’t know a damn thing about.
This put me at ease. Like many animals, their mother leaves them to not attract attention to them. They are beauties, thanks for putting my mind at ease. Glad the right people made sure they were safe
