I appreciate her efforts to ask questions that other people haven't asked dozens of times. Commenting on the costumes! Asking about the love story! Asking him about the energy at the premiere! I've been hunting Q&As about this movie and I've seen Edgar have to tell the same stories dozens of times because he always gets asked the same stuff. This is new stuff! Good stuff! Interesting stuff!
And this is why i love this interview, it's new, fun, and he seems relaxed! After when i saw this film, i dubbed Edgar Wright as my new favorite director, and he directed Scott Pilgrim before this!! I love this guy!!
So I've been a fan of Edgar Wright since Shaun of the Dead back in 2004. After I saw Hot Fuzz I needed more so I watched Spaced and all his subsequent films. I never could put my finger on what made his work stand out so much but this interview has finally made me get it. His attention to detail is stunning. The idea behind how Baby gets all his iPods and sunglasses, color coding characters... I'm starting to think this man is a genius and I'm anxiously awaiting his next film.
He's been this good from the beginning...very innovative director. Even when he was doing the British TV show 'Spaced' with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost you could see his signature style being perfected.
idk why I keep opening the comments to see people insulting the interviewer. she has good questions that lead to Edgar talking about interesting things.
I want a prequel with Buddy and Darling, that would be amazing, especially how he shares the same love for music as baby, so the movie can still have the musical theme.
1:04 "Uh...so to begin with, I wanna begin..uh...really near the beginning" homegirl seemed to be a bit nervous around there, haha. must be a big fan of him. edit (after finishing the video): no fucking way she's a fan. just a robot reading from a page
Someone told me she hates him, literally wanted to kill his kids in front of him. I don't know if it's true, but that's what I heard. Crazy, right? I don't get that anger. Let it go. Let it go.
Edgar Wright seems to be a pretty introverted guy after seeing this and a few other interviews. I would have liked to see a more energetic interviewer engage him, maybe a really passionate fan of Edgar.
I think his mood is defined by the other person's. He seems to be very good at matching the energy of whoever he's talking to, which can be very good when an interviewer is upbeat and energetic but when they have a more neutral personality he seems to emulate that as well.
Technically "reactionary" could be used to mean enthusiastic, but it's not common usage, and she's not wordsmith enough to justify breaking with protocol.
They're seated close facing the camera. It's a TV production thing combined with a personal space thing, it's just a bit of an awkward position. Check out "proximics" on wikipedia.
Is it just me or is this interviewer INCREDIBLY AWKWARD? Edgar: *long eloquent recollection of experiences on set and creating the film* Interviewer: Yeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh.
Thats pretty long loglines My loglines would be : Baby a getaway driver who listens to music a lot get challenged when he tries to get out with his lovely gf
She just seemed to wait to speak, then barely acknowledged any of his answers or cool insights and when she did she barely seemed on the same page; especially about Baby adopting identities through strangers iPods. What the fuck? I don't know if she was nervous or just a plank but I have no interest in seeing her interview true movie makers anymore. Give her Michael Bay going forward.
