we run asmall rescue in the uk ive have 30 at last count, and ;love them all watch them play and intracting with them is to me the most relaxing thing out, they are so cheeky and you have two very addorable polcat/ferrets there

Great pets and they will stand up to almost any kind of animal. I've seen them make racoons run away as well as cats and small dogs!

@blackkittiep I have two identical hob ferrets, and when I do doubles races with them it's hard to tell them apart, so one of them wears a collar. The easiest way is to get an elasticated kitten collar with an emergency release in case of accidents, and put it on the ferret before giving them a special treat, I use dead day-old chicks or chicken wings. They immediately forget about the collar and dig in happily.

You can usually find them in the pet store in their section of items or purchase a kitty collar and cut off the extra piece if it sticks out since their necks are smaller.

@ZoruaZorroark I miss my ferrets too. They were wonderful pets.

@MangoTangoFOx They are very easy to litter train, and they do need regular cat litter. Watch out for something called the 'hit rate', that is, how many times out of 100 the ferret will actually poop IN the litter tray. I have eight, and hit rates vary between one with nearly 100% hit rate, and four that rarely, if ever, actually poop in the tray, and prefer to do it in front of doors.

@Halfbluemoon1 Some do, some don't. 3 of our 7 ferrets will stall on occassion, and 1 used to do it all the time. We've found the older they get, the more likely they are to 'stall'.

@shpannie Some do. It depends on the ferret. Mine never did, but to be safe, you should "ferret proof" your home, at least when you first get the ferret, or designate an area that is safe for your ferret(s) to run around in.

Great idea! But you should try a ferret harness! A ferret collar is not meant for walking them, they can easily escape from it.

@LuNi811 I'm pretty sure that in the description it says they are playing in starch peanuts, while not good for them to eat, won't kill them if they do bite off a piece.

You are a braver soul then I, cleaning those things up is a pain.

@koalagigabite Because they are gregarious. They need each others company to be happy. And also, I don't have two, I have eight.

Please keep in mind that ferrets can get an intestinal blockage if they swallow a piece of these foamy peanuts, that could lead to very bad situations that only surgery can save. Never let your ferrets play with any packaging materials!

@Halfbluemoon1 Taking a little rest. In our house we call it a 'stall', as in 'the car has stalled again'. Just a quick rest, then off to play until they are ready to go for a real sleep!

You can keep ferrets on a long leash if hunting rabbits so you still have a hold of them when they're down the hole.

I'm not trying to be a wiseass or anything, but I noticed your ferret had a collar on. Unsupervised fuzzies with a collar or harness on could get caught in something and end up strangling themselves. I don't know if you took it off after playing I was just saying~ :3

i can take them out for a walk and to public places without having to keep them in a cage or pen. I can use it for an ID tag. It shows people who might find them if they escape that they are pets and not wild animals.

The way I see it, regular packing peanuts would be alright if you carefully monitored your weasel.

These are baby ferrets. Because they are so young, they can get get used to wearing collars. But that doesn't mean they like it ;) And what is the point of a collar on ferrets? It just doesn't add anything.

@spottedpath2000 if you put the guinea pig in front of the ferret, you will very quickly have no guinea pig at all. If you are sensible and keep one caged while the other is around, and wash your hands carefully between handling either, then it's fine

@ZoruaZorroark My mom used to raise ferrets when she was a teenager. I probably would have owned a few if my mom and dad didn't split up. I really want one. Can they use a litter box like a cat, or do they have to have that light mulch stuff like a bunny?

No, you DONT want 70 ferrets. I have 5, and they are actually pretty difficult for me to take care of. They poop about every three hours, so it would be like massive loads of shit every day.

Just don't use them! It can be very dangerous because they can get stuck, and most ferrets really don't like them..
