Basically the play is how they develop social ques and recognize how to appropriately act and treat other members of the species. It's honestly the same thing we do in humans and similarly if a human grows up without human interaction they often end up aggressive towards others due to fear and not understanding social ques. The only difference really is how incredibly strong apes are compared to humans which can make the play look rough in comparison.
@12801270able
@12801270able Месяц назад
Humans are great apes, too. And furthermore, it's a myth that "apes" are incredibly strong compared to humans, barring gorillas. Chimpanzees are only stronger pound for pound. When you adjust it for absolute strength, adult male chimpanzees are as strong as adult human men, and the former does calisthenics all the time.

This is why we need moms and dads in households not just a mom and really it’s better if it’s just one parent it’s a father

Do you Know gorillas shouldn't live in a zoo
@judithsixkiller5586

Do you know that like most other primates besides humans ,Gorillas and Chimpanzees are critically endangered species because of their widespread slaughter for bushmeat by poachers,trophy hunters and land clearing by palm oil farmers? Not to mention deaths from pollution and contagious illnesses from nearby human dwellings. Zoo and wildlife sanctuary protective breeding programs are basically their last and best chance at avoiding extinction. Not someday,but now.

SO sad and so many zoos have such tiny, sterile enclosures. No wonder the gorillas fight all the time in zoos.

Let's all just thank God or Evolution that Gorillas are relatively gentle giants. They can rip you apart like paper but choose to just chill.

Shocking, socialization as young as possible allows for a higher level of socialization later in life, wow almost uncanny

The researchers should be in prison. Even a 3 year old would know thatd make them angry and depressed.

Literally my dog who just turned a year old, he is relentless to his friends and his family ever since birth and has this unique effect on old dogs by making them snap for the first time in public. I found him in the shelter and he was the calmest and nicest puppy there, which was a total scam when we brought him home. If anything I love my dog more because he is an asshole like our families genes.
