Baby Hamster Day 1 to Day 30 (Syrian Hamster) 

So, I have two syrian hamsters, one is female, one is male. I keep them separated in to cages ( fish tanks ). But one day, the male hamster tried to escape from his cage. Instead, he accidentally got into the female hamster’s cage! I separated them as soon as I noticed but I think it was just a little too late.. I’ve noticed that my female hamster is showing signs that she is pregnant. Now it’s been 18 days, her belly is very big, and she almost sleeps for the whole day. She could be having her babies in about 1~2 days or even today! Whoever reads this, pray for me and my hamster that she will not end up eating her babies 😭 I researched and did stuff so that she won’t eat her babies (6 years ago, I had a pregnant hamster and she ate her babies even though I didn’t do anything to her.. I even kept her in a quiet room and hid her cage so no one would see her) Edit: she just had 15 babies! Another Edit: sadly one of them died a week ago but all the other hammies are growing just fine :) so there are currently 14 hamsters, and we found homes for 5 of them :) hopefully more people will come to adopt, but we are going to keep a few of them too.

I just bought a Syrian Hamster yesterday and she's showing signs of pregnancy for example shes taking all her food and putting it in a corner of the cage (tank) and I put some tissue in there and she started making a nest out of it where her food is and she is being really aggressive not shy aggressive anytime I try to change her food she starts screaming and biting me she looks a bit big around the stomach for a Syrian The pet shop told us she was a male but you can clearly see the female parts and everything the workers probably had her in with another Syrian in the back where the other animals go before putting her on display in the shop coz they thought she was a boy so they probably had her in with another male Just in case she is pregnant I'm doing research on how to treat a pregnant hamster and how to treat the babies I'll keep you updated Edit:she gave birth to 15 babies yesterday but 4 died so now there is 11 babies Edit 2:they just hit 3 weeks and they r looking healthy and cute were selling them t Next week

I've had two syrian hamsters which lived a long, happy life. We've had baby hamsters and they are so adorable😁😁 We just recently got a new syrian and we're trying to tame her, she was 1 month old when we got her, its been almost 1 month since we got her too. She is very scared and will take some time till she is fully tamed. Hamsters are the best, change my mind.;)

I hope this isn’t where they really live, TOTALY bad environment for them. Bad bedding, little bedding, little cage, bad diet. Please when you get a hamster, do your research first

Smh this kills me!! NEVER NEVER EVER put pine shavings in a hamster cage!!!! Or ANY kinda cage for that matter!!! It causes lung irritation which later causes lung cancer!! I had 2 Syrians gave to me that was in pine. Of course I immediately stopped it but the damage was done. They died a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE death!!! I don't think I'd wish that bad of suffering on my worst enemy!! Vet confirmed it was because of the pine shavings. So what do you put in a hamster cage?? Paper!! Paper and more paper!! Other than the food bowl and water bottle, everything else should be paper!! And no I didn't ever keep an exercise wheel in the cage either. They can over exert themselves. I used Kroger sales papers to align the bottom of the cage. I would roll off toilet paper and or Kleenex if I had it for them to make a bed out of. I did have the wheel that you can put them in to let them run around the house. I always used a 10 gallon tank. I put paper and more paper in it. Food bowl and water bottle. That's it. That's all you need. I've had hamsters live over 4 years old which is really old for a hamster. Trust me I know what I'm doing. This has got me wanting another one LOL temporarily of course. I'm not gonna get one. I can't handle having anything die on me!!! This has got me having hamster fever tho lol. I will get over it

My Syrian hamster gave birth with 7 babies, and they all died. We didn’t touch the babies and all, search all over the internet to keep the babies safe. But they still all die. We don’t know what happened until now. 😭

What cute babies! You might want to upgrade the bin cages, and put in some more bedding. I can’t tell if that’s pine or aspen but don’t use pine! It is bad for their respiratory system. Also to any new hamster owners, don’t use Critter Trails!!!! Ok goodbye

yo tenia dos hamsters pero de casualidad no sabíamos distinguir el sexo de los pequeños y ps adoptamos a dos hembras no pudimos hacer nada mas que criarlas después de un tiempo una de las hamsters murió :( sin embargo nos quedo una entonces aprovechamos para adoptar a un macho y poder cruzarlos, 1 intento no resulto, 2 tampoco y así fue todos los días que intentábamos hasta que un día la hamster hembra murió aunque aun le faltaba 1 año más resulta que no podía tener hijos ya que tenia un tumor hoy me quede con solo uno..

Please change your bedding. Cedar is not a good bedding. Consider switching to paper based or aspen bedding
