I don't know - the game practically forces you to work hard all the time, so punishing people for something they have to do just doesn't sit right with me. I like the concept of it, but they seriously need to rebalance the rabbit hole careers before using burn out.
@@neilbiggs1353 This is a very different criticism than I usually hear. Usually people claim the game is too easy and if you don't set up your own rules, it's really easy to make make money. That's more the experience I tend to have, depending on what I'm doing. If you have a tiny home, with the wealth aspiration, you can easily get a money tree and just cheese it. Or start a club and have other people paint and sell their paintings. Guess it all depends on how you play
@@danitho It's two different issues, but the Sims has always had a bit of a feast vs famine issue. The problem here is that the regular jobs in the rabbit holes are too punishing for little reward, and it also looks like it hits the work from home versions, meanwhile the side hustles are too generous. This isn't new, you could make a ridiculous amount of money with the red coffee beans in Sims 3 (I would stay in the dorms at University and the sim would come home substantially richer than when they started...), but this burnout thing makes the rabbit hole obs even worse. If you want to see the cheesiest exploit, just take a look at the people who speedrun it by selling outfits!
as a full-time self-employed artist I can confirm that "No I don't wanna experience burnout!! I got stuff to do!! I don't have time to burn out" is 100% authentic to actually having burnout lol
@@MeldinX2 Nothing is relaxing when you have to do it over and over and over again especially when you are counting on that thing to keep the roof over your head😭😭
@@Tocalicious5427 when i was a shift supervisor at starbucks i used to joke around with my employees like "guys what if i just dropped dead right now? do you think you guys would get a day off?" and they'd be like "i mean that would be a horrible loss but i'm pretty sure they would still tell us we need to open on time" and that's just COFFEE lmao
@@elfbreath did you see Fuller house? Because she takes it a step further there. She just moves in haha and her brother even .. I always had the feeling, during full house, like you said she might as well have been family already. Felt like that for sure! She was always there right in time for breakfast with the Tannerito's 😅
@@meganjones1535 also because who would buy baby prints 😂 though it would be fun if they were worth nothing unless your sim became a celebrity and they could sell their baby prints XD
you have to actually take family leave under the job category in the phone 😂 but I agree that it should be automatic and you should then be given the option to go or not go.
The uncle Joey alcove idea is so wholesome 🥺 you could actually make a Full House build and have this family live in it!! Forrest could be the uncle Jesse living in the bunny room😂❤
You’re definitely gonna need to get infant beds (preferably the ones you can convert to toddler beds so there’s less expense) and at least one high chair. I think a dining table and chairs would be nice too 😊
Second this. Can probably get away with one crib (convertible) and just the one playmat. I'd say spend the rest of the money on a dining table, a couple chairs, and one high chair.
I love how James goes with the Big Family option these days. I can remember a time when we'd be lucky to get ONE baby (and often he would just immediately age it up into an adult and start the next LP ROFL) 🤭🤫🤣
When I tell you that the first time I heard about the burn out feature, my first thought was about how James was gonna cope when there's actually consequences for having your sims do the same thing over and over 😂
I’d be so interested to see Ash and Willow also grow up together with their cousin(?) Sandalwood and being close to weird werewolf Aunt Nina and Uncle Angus who also eat the contents of their house 😂I think the timelines finally match up and it’ll bring in the other Bigwallet branch before the timelines go out of sync again 👍🏾
Like seriously. The first 2 years are that. Finally at 2 I can give my kid a snack and she'll eat it while I finish prepping lunch, but Getting Here Took Two Whole-Ass Years.
@PurpleGhost true! it felt like that for only 2 years with child no. 1. And that's why we decided, let's have another one. I love them both, but the loop is indeed never-ending. So far at least 😄
Lol funny how James corrected himself saying the babies are Sidney and Ava’s Great Grandkids and then 10 seconds later when introducing them to Ava he calls them Grand Niece and Grand Nephew .. 😂🎉❤ Twins are already messing with the brain.
Why dont you make Rye to be good at fixing things? That could be a cool thing for him to do :) maybe he can also make wood furniture for his flat below the house?
I think buying a woodworking table is a good idea with some of the money, then you can craft the planter pots to go up in Rye’s treehouse as well as get handiness skill up to upgrade the cribs! Could be a cute thing for Rye to do for the family!
I noticed that it's Rebate Day, you can redo the house--except the nursery of course, by selling off entire rooms and just remaking them. Be sure to put all the furniture in the inventory first.
Wholeheartedly support the venture of trying for triplets next. James will have his very own forest of Bigwallets… this way also honours Forrest trying to join the family haha!
i never seen sims bringing or using sleeping bags during stayovers, but they do try to steal your beds xdd sims bring their own sleeping bags during slumber parties though and they even have them assigned, so you can decide which sims sleeps where by dragging them around the place
Honestly, watching James (and esp DrGluon) play with Dust turned on and how annoying it is saved me from buying the pack 😂. While I like the chaos in LPs I could never deal with it when I play personally. Lol
We definitely need to expand the nursery and get cribs, but maybe the parents could have a bike to easily get their fun up? It would also be nice if Rye had a nice bed to sleep in. I can’t wait to see Ash and Willow as infants.
I'd love to see Rye with a proper bed (or sleeping bag) in his tree house 😂 or maybe build him a 2nd "tree house" to live in. Idk why but I love the idea of the fun uncle living in the back yard like a hermit rather than in the house. The kids can go "visit" him 😂
You should hop on Reginald and introduce him to all the family members that weren’t famous enough to talk to him, lol. And then have him and Kevin over.
You should prioitize the nursary~♥ and a feeding table and another of those play mats to practice tummy time ^^. The adults seem fine haha. And any left over can be to put extra beds!.
Addison and Hilary should come to stay over instead! They should have a good relationship with their grandkids. Also, Nina and Greg's child is named Sandalwood and is probably the same generation as Ash and Willow, they can become friends! You can even start a tree club for tree named kids where they socialize and build handiness skill, and can finally build a treehouse together lol
After all the comments on the last video about his makeover, I love that James keeps using first person - ie. “my aspiration” & “I’m polishing the toilet” - when talking about Koji 😂 18:11
I really like your videos. You have a funny, calm way to talk about and with the sims, and i like your style of using fast forward and not cutting scenes. You're not 150% hyper and you don't talk to fast and much.😂 Thank you for the fun I have enjoying you and your little creatures 😊
Can we have a middle child and make them be like super forgotten and neglected and see how they grow up and what becomes of them? I think it would be really funny to have a super happy family with the one random black sheep that everyone is ashamed of 😂 (and yes, I'm absolutely projecting.)
@@angelickaveach I know (hardcore James fan since the dawn of times) but I think we have new features with this pack, where if you actually ignore a baby or a child they get some traits that will sort of shape their personality as adults? I thought it was something interesting to explore😊
@@angelickaveach it’s also the backstory for Max Power, from the super sim challenge. James did exactly that when parenthood came out and made sure max got negative in all those character value traits. Although Max was much more uh, destructive in that one😅
I don't have Growing Together and have no plans to get it anytime soon, but as soon as I learned about the burnout mechanic, I was like "Y'know that's a good point, it can't be fun for sims just doing the same thing over and over" and started having my creative sim alternative between painting and woodworking for a bit of variety XD
Since the update, I've had such issues with queued actions taking forever to drop and take effect, it's super frustrating Also, what about switching the nursery and the "guest room"? With twin infants (twinfants?) I feel like you need a lot of room. And cribs are the new high chairs when it comes to glitchy, so the more room for Sims to move around, the better.
same. I rage-quit my game last night when father good saint winter was there and my sim wouldn't wake up from her nap, even though I queued up "ask for a gift" and canceled her sleeping action. hum-de-dum guess I'll just keep sleeping here then. YOU'RE GOING TO MISS SANTA YOU NERD!!!
That's one of the reasons I haven't played with a family yet. I tried the day after the pack was released and got so annoyed that I quit playing and went back to my single sim save.
I think the nursery needs to be expanded and fully ready for infants, and then a guitar for rye, and then anything for fun in this house... the rest should come along later 🙂
Loving this series so far :) As far as things to get, other than cribs and a high chair, I'd suggest a bin for the diaper changing table (it slots automatically) , so that diapers stop going on the floor. And then maybe a guitar for Rye? Or a computer, so they can write jokes/columns for work + play games for another source of fun.
For a not traditional Bigwallet rags to riches this is the grindiest one we've had in a while. I'm loving it! Definitely expand the house and paint the exterior. If they have to keep up the grind maybe prioritize fun relaxing activities for purchase? Help with burnout otherwise you'll get a midlife crisis really quick.
Lol calling Sydney and Ava great uncle and niece for their great grandkids is so funny. Since Quinn is their grandchild that makes the new babies their great grandkids. Forrest would be their great uncle. 😉
