Just wondering, as you said the Owlet is not FDA approved, is there anything specific in your opinion that could be harmful about it (the device itself - inaccurate readings and anxiety aside)? Used it for the first few months of my baby's life at night because I was a nervous wreck but now I'm a little worried that I did!
I think all those 3 things alone are indicators they aren't useful and unnecessarily increasing parental anxieties seems harmful to me. There are a few very isolated reports of it overheating and causing superficial burns in children as well
It's funny but in the UK we still sterilize everything. It's recommended until 12 months. Also babies are placed in the feet to foot position which means feet to bottom of crib and blanket well tucked under matress and no higher than babies shoulder so they get accidentally get their head covered. Always recommended to put baby down on a blanket on the floor rather than any container. It scares me to see how ma y people think dock a tot and snuggle me are a suitable sleep surface. Also I see a lot of people using their car seat in the grocery store etc as though it were a handy seat when it's not.
I have! Its slightly better than a Bumbo seat for a couple of ergonomic reasons but it's still a container so not something you really NEED. If that helps!
