@@peachoxo4099 She's a psychopath, because she doesn't like the squeaky noise baby orangutans make? x'D Weirdo. Baby animal cries are often evolved to be deeply uncomfortable to the adults that are supposed to respond to them. Those sounds being annoying is kind of the point of the sounds.
She isn't doing a kiss squeak. I'm not even sure if anything less than a full adult can even make the noise at all, but younger ones do sometimes practice it. From what I've been able to tell, the noise has to be generated by rounding their lips like Jaqui was doing, but all she was doing was whining, fake crying and throwing a fit. When an orangutan does a kiss squeak, it's kind of a weird sound, almost like if you were to pucker and when you go to make the noise, keep it going for a few seconds, but it's a bit more raspy so try to imagine that combined with the noise a cricket when it rubs it hind legs to make that chirping noise, then increase the volume 10,000× over. It sounds vaguely like that. Sometimes they're real quick, other times they're drawn out, but in order for it to carry, they have to be able to force large amounts of air through their lips, and it also requires a very precise internal mouth and lips shape because they flatten the lips a little. The youngsters practice it probably their entire childhood before they finally get everything to come together just right. They usually make the noise as a fear response, sometimes to intimidate, sometimes just to announce that they're here. There have also been some that try to make the sound "bigger" by blowing the air out through leaves in an attempt to make themselves sound bigger to something that may be threatening them but can't actually see them yet. Anyway, the noise that the babies make isn't even close to what the adults can make. Just look up orangutan kiss squeak here on RU-vid. It's a pretty cool noise because they can be varied in length, tone, pitch and volume. One weird part of how they make the noise is different from how we would; we make the noise more like on the inhale, while they make it on the exhale.
They're precious! I wish these villagers would stop killing their Mothers. These babies should be high in the trees. Glad that they're in your care! Bittersweet..
I always wonder what the other orangutans left with Jacqui are thinking when she tantrums out. Like, do they not mind, or are they all just sitting there like, "Every day with this..."
These things belong at as pets PERIOD! If you have to train a wild animal to live in the wild then they are wild animals. besides they never do go back to the true wild. geez man stop using them as political pawns and cash cows.
Clearly needs redirection and discipline very badly. But of course idiotic humans in charge think it is “so cute“ and do nothing but allow this orangutan to act out, which will eventually cost its place in the wild. If the mother orangutan wouldn’t put up with it, why do they think it’s appropriate to allow the baby to continue to act this way? It’s a bunch of bull crap. My suspicions are someone has taken a attachment to that orangutan, and doesn’t wanna see it leave, therefore if it keeps acting out maybe they can keep it a long time. That’s the only thing I can figure
Right. They’re supposed to be prepping them to go back to the wild. If it acts like that in the wild, the adults are gonna best the crap out of it. It’s all for views.
They used to make fun of me and laugh at me when i was little for being upset. The laughing at me made me very angry. Still does. It did not seem like a "tantrum" here. That is an english word. The being here may have been displeased. The feelings of little ones are important and valid and not "cute" for the enjoyment of others. 😡
