Lilli or Lillibet.( Elizabeth)……Meaning:God's promise. Lilibet is a feminine Hebrew name meaning "God is my oath” and is derived from the Hebrew root Elisheva of the same meaning. Lilibet was most commonly used as a nickname but has become a popular first name in recent times.

Wow I really needed to hear another mom mention the topic of moms not experiencing the same love as first time moms. Were expecting our third boy next month and I was really hopeful for excitement from our friends and family but it's crickets over here. I made a registry for minimal things that we really need and no one asked to get us anything or offered to help us in any way. All my "friends" haven't checked in once and family hasn't really checked in on how I'm doing either. It really does suck but it is what it is. Our circle is already very small so Im not too hopeful on anyone showing up for us but just grateful God blessed my husband and I with support with one another and our boys.

My husband and I went through this lack of support when we had our children. We both came from marriages that were broken by our spouses’ decisions and waited a long time to find each other. We each brought two preteen-teenage children with us into the marriage . We were thrilled to be expecting after I had been diagnosed with infertility after my two children. Everyone at our church seemed thrilled for us, but when our son was born nobody offered to do a meal train for us despite having an active ladies ministry that did that for every other mom who gave birth, whether it was their first time or not. This happened again with our other two children. Our third child was a large baby and ended up with a serious issue at a week old requiring an 11 day nicu stay and a dangerous procedure to save her life. We were told she might have lasting effects and be deaf and in a wheelchair. Still no support from our church! My sister in law organized a meal train for us and our church members were invited to help but still none of them did. But my former church stepped up and went above and beyond, even though I hadn’t attended there in 6 years since I started attending my husband’s church. We left our church and went back to mine where we felt like they actually cared about us.

Yes! I’ve learned that pregnant mama’s with kids sometimes need more help than pregnant first time mama’s!! I was so sick with our third but still had two children to care for and it was a struggle. We got through it but now I’m more aware and quick to drop off dinner for a pregnant mama or do her laundry or clean for her if she has other kids to care for too. The work doesn’t stop! Thanks for reminding us of this !

I love the name Charlotte! 💕 You are SO right about the lack of support for non-first time moms. By my third pregnancy, it felt like there was no excitement from anyone except our little immediate family. We adopted our fourth child and there was nothing. No celebration except for what we did for him ourselves during his second birthday party (he was adopted a few days before his 2nd birthday). So I’ll add, don’t forget about adoptive moms. Even if the child isn’t a newborn, bringing a child into a family is reason to celebrate and it is a major transition that needs some support (meals, toys, diapers…). ❤️

Yes! Experienced mothers still could use a hand. I remember coming home with 2 toddlers to take care of. My husband couldn't stay out of work. I guess everyone thinks" you've got this, you've done it before". But you never have the same experience twice. Each time is another child to take care of. So the load definitely grows bigger and you need to heal and rest. It is a challenge. Prayers for a healthy delivery and baby girl!!

Less than a month before he was born, another family (in our two neighboring, very small towns that share schools) named their son Tucker. We stuck with it. Many years ago now, when I was a younger mum, I suggested to my mothers group that we could better support each other as we had more children. We organised a roster among ourselves to drop of a few meals to support each other as our families grew. It was such a wonderful thing to do. No one hesitated to step up, as we could all appreciate how helpful that would be. It came with no obligatory pressure. Some mums home baked, some shopped a hamper, some picked up and delivered some take-away. And all were done with love and care and understanding that this kind of support was beyond practical, it was us girls acknowledging that we knew how to help and would not hesitate. It just took an idea, and we ran with it. Perhaps you could do something similar through you church, friends playgroup mums. It had a wonderful ripple effect, and I loved cooking something special and bundling up some goodies to drop off. We mums just know!!

I agree with you about your comments on 2nd and 3rd time moms. I’m pregnant with our third, had the most support with the 1st, not hardly any with our second(which I struggled really bad with postpartum depression and transitioning from 1 to 2 kids). My 3rd is a blessing because I didn’t think I could get pregnant but it’s been the worst pregnancy and I’m on bed rest a lot trying to raise 2 young kids and be there for them as well. It’s so real what you said about even just making a meal for them and how much that helps. Not trying to complain or anything but it is something that’s very real for a lot of moms.

Here in our church group we have a sign up sheet (or get assigned) to take meals to the new moms, it doesn't matter if it's their first baby or number 8 😅, cause we all know, the more babies the more is in involved and everyone needs to eat! Then we have the preference to drop it off at the house (with a gift😊) or stay and eat with the family. Just thought I'd share this for whatever it's worth!

So many of the names you mentioned were names I considered! I am so surprised at the overlap, as I was doing this 17 years ago! Elizabeth was on my list, but my husband's brother's family chose that one for a middle name just days before our baby was born. And they also snatched Hannah. But I love both of those names. I also love love love Charlotte. I chose Lily for my daughter, which I love too, but there are a lot of girls named Lily in our area. We lived near the Sierra Mountain Range at the time, so we considered Sierra too. Any of those sound lovely to me. I also loved Willow and if I had another child, I would have considered that one. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the names you mention. You sound like such a good mom! If I had a chance to do it again, I'd love to have more children! I’m so glad that you discussed not forgetting about the mom as she has more kids. I’m a birth doula, my sister in law just had her 5th, (I’ve been there for each of her kiddos) and she went through a rough period this last time and I went to her house like 4 times in a week because she needed another female and fellow mother that could be there emotionally and just help with basic household functions, there’s so many kids that need help with potty training or the 10th meal for the day, mom is up throughout the night and exhausted, etc.!!!! Don’t forget the Mom she’s the one that went through a major trauma and 9 months of constant work to bring a baby into the world! Even if it means postponing a visit for a week or two after baby’s here because it’s the Mom who should have the say as to what she’s comfortable with!❤ Always always offer to help do something while you’re there “visiting”, Mom shouldn’t have to entertain while healing. Go take out the garbage on your way out 😂 and bring a meal or treat!

Every single name is beautiful, and she will be as well. I can’t pick a favorite, but I have always loved the name Lottie (a sweet nickname for Charlotte), probably because when I was a little girl, I lived on a rural one lane gravel road. At the end of it lived a little lady named Lottie. She loved the Lord and always made time for me. I can still remember the smell of her rose bush beside her kitchen window, where I parked my bicycle, and the sugar cookies she always seemed to have baking in her oven. She lived to be 104 years old. God bless you and your precious family. Sending lots of love and prayers from Kentucky. ❤

I’m not surprised a friend of yours ended up using Violet as it is one of the most commonly used girl names right now! It is in the top 15 most common names. We are using it for our next girl and have had it picked out to use for sure for 8 years now, just have lots of sweet momma’s boys in a row. ❤ It didn’t use to be so popular, but especially the last 3 or 4 years it has been and it especially boomed in the past 2 years. I was told some TikTok influencer used it then it surged but I’m not on there so no idea. We homeschool and always have so I’m not worried about her having multiple in a class or if being common and we prefer common names with our uncommon surname, but I totally get how it’s trendiness is a turn-off for some. At this point we are just so married to the name and had confirming feelings that is what our next daughter’s name is supposed to be that we will use it regardless. 😅 Team green for baby #6, so we will see soon if we will be using it with this baby or a future one. ❤ From your list, I really love Eden and Hazel! They would fit great with sisters too! Neither are near as common as Violet either, so less likely to have friends use it before you have her. 😊 My great grandma was Hazel and I would have loved to use it, but it doesn’t work with our surname unfortunately. Sooooo pretty though! I love it so much that I’m thinking Hayes for a boy middle name if we had 6 boys (we have a current boy name for this one potentially being a 5th boy so this name would not be for a next boy, but another, which we may not have that many but I like to be prepared haha! Hazel is a family name for me and my husband and my great grandma on my other side had the surname Hays. 🥰 Eden nn Edie is sooooooo adorable though so I don’t know between the two….both are fantastic!!!❤

I really like Anastasia especially for the meaning and tying in your middle name as well! All of the name ideas are really good options though! ☺️

Good luck on all the compromising that comes with naming a baby! I like Sierra, Eleanora, Anna, Hannah, JoAnna but I’m with you on maybe naming two with a mineral name to go with Ruby. I think you make a very valid point about people who are on their 3rd or 4th child have more NEEDS and support. I think the 1st one is so new and exciting, everyone wants to be on the adventure with them. The other children just seem like old hat stuff but you are right - I can see how having multiple children, there are much more needs to consider. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the topic!

I'm all for this name!! My middle name is Ann, named after my grandmother, and I think Lily, both in theme and number of syllables flows so smoothly with the other girls names. Perfect choice!❤

Hi Kristen! When I had my second daughter, it was the same as what you experienced except I came home on my anniversary. LOL! At least my husband went and got dinner! Have you thought about Iris for baby name? It goes with your nature names, but it also has a beautiful spiritual meaning. Anything you name this baby...it will be blessed.

I love the theme for your big sister names. Just lovely! I also love the other names you've chosen. Of course you and your husband will pick just the right one for your family. Combining some of these choices also makes for combined meanings. I am partial to Annabeth, which joins to mean "full of grace" and "my God is an oath". Then you could choose yet another middle name. Annabeth is sweet and a wee bit of an "old world" name. Best to you all as you welcome your new little darling girl!

Any of the names would be great, but ultimately you are the ones who will have to be happy with it! My daughter's middle name is Eden, so I personally love that, along with Eleanor. I'm so sorry that your church family and friends did not care for you after your subsequent births... that's honestly when you need the most help! It wasn't until my 3rd child that we had friends (and nearly strangers) help us out in that way, and we felt so blessed! I'm pregnant with my 4th now also, so I'm hoping we will experience that same generosity again. I'm the type who will just go without eating sometimes because I can't figure out what to eat or make time for a proper meal for myself 😬

I love the name Lily. It's beautiful. I come from a family of 5 girls. And my dad had a time calling us, our names started all with the letter S and ended with the letter A. ----Sylvia, Selma,Sandra,Sonia, and SuZanna. A tongue twister. I remember him calling us in the morning getting ready for school. It was funny. But now a beautiful memory.
