Ember is a female orangutan born at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo on October 29th, 2014 and we've watched her grow up from 6 weeks old to turning 3. Seeing her learn new skills and develop as an orangutan is adorable and also interesting to compare it to human development.
Orangutans are a critically endangered species and need our help in order to survive. Simple ways to help them are to avoid products that use palm oil and look for a FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) label on wood and paper products.
