There’s actually a legit strategy involving taking a blue shell all the way to first; only one person can have a blue shell at once (at least in some games) so if you’re in first and you have one, nobody can use one against you.
Fun facc: the reason why some characters are become just so good is because Mario Kart as a rivalry feature where when you play as one character another character will be unnaturally better than the others to keep you on your toes. Alot of them make sense like Mario's rival being Luigi or Bowser (i don't remember). But for Beefboss I'm not sure who'd that be... maybe its randomized for the mii's idk
it’s baby peach 1000% It is probably randomized for each individual mii although from the looks of it the rival is the same one each time it’s chosen that’s why it’s always baby peach that screws him over
There is also rubberbanding, a feature in racing games that prevents a player from getting too far ahead of CPUs to keep races a challenge. When used correctly, it can provide a good and fair challenge from beginning to end of a race. When used incorrectly, it is clear the game is bending its own rules in favor of the CPU. I’m not sure if that’s what’s happening in Poof’s races, but it might also explain some things.
10:31 no WAY poof is just realizing that there's always 2-3 characters programmed to do better while others are programmed to do worse. Like you'll always be fueding with the same couple of racers during a cup, not all 12 racers.
@@carl_player3539 it wouldnt be challenging if the player had essentially no competition because the com is averaging 6th place on each race while the player is averaging 1st or 2nd. if anything, it's bullcrap for the com who are selected to lose because they have no chance at getting a good ranking so some other com poses as a challenge for the player.
@@militor_207 huh didn’t know that. I meant as in the two rivals have AI that (kinda) lets them cheat. If you want to know more, go check out the video by Abyssoft. He explained it really well.
theres actually a speedrun category called "Blue Yourself" for mario kart wii where the whole point is to get a blue shell and hit yourself with it... that would probably be a great speedrun for you XD
the reason one ai is so good is because of a hidden "rivals" system in mario kart that's been in the games since the super nintendo, where when the player is playing against only ai's, a few (the number varies between games) specific characters will have a higher ai level, based on the character picked. for example, mario's rivals with higher ai would be wario and bowser, waluigi's would luigi and toadette, etc.
Ok but seriously why does it actually seem like Baby Peach is a problem every time? Whenever I hop on MKWII it seems like she’s always part of the 12, and she’s always consistently in the top 3. Because of this I have have her “okay,” her laugh and her scream when she gets hit engraved in my mind
Watching this is just what I need. My dad’s tenth angel day is on the 3rd and it’s about to be 12am for me. I’m already feeling strong emotions but watching you play this game and rage is the perfect distraction. Thanks Poof! I’m very glad I found your channel last year
I've just gotta say the merch plug at the beginning of this video is by far the most informative I've ever seen and it was straight to the point. Very nice
But seriously why is Baby Peach the absolute worst in MKWii? When I was a kid we would sometimes just restart the race until she wasn’t there just because we didn’t feel like dealing with her bs. All y’all saying Funky King has the best raw stats are liars.
Poofesure never fails to make me smile. To me, he's one of those rare RU-vidrs that *really* cures my depression. Thanks for making us laugh Poof, keep up the great content!
The green shells having your name on them kinda makes sense. Green shells are free shooting when shot, but when they bounce off a wall they aim for the position of the closest target
