'Baby Reindeer' creators ask fans to stop tracking down real-life characters

What’s creepy Is these people that are turning into stalkers. How many movies and TV shows are loosely based on real life I’ve never seen this happen before . people have way too much time on their hands. If you are one of these people trying to find the real life people, you need therapy.

Gadd didn't make steps to protect people beyond changing their names. He made it so easy that it's hard to know who's playing who

This show was so moving, dynamic. I was just looking through Netflix yesterday and choose it. I did not know it would be so good! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (I never even thought of searching for who the characters were based on. PEOPLE NEED TO STOP!)

Not the shows fault people are lunatics. I get looking into the real life crimes behind tv shows and movies, I’ve done it myself. That is where a normal person’s curiosity ends. If you are part of an online group stalking, you have serious problems.

It will be a real bummer if this is all a prank to get viewers to watch and rate the show.

I like this show. I don’t like the rape scenes to disturbing for me.

One big problem is that Gadd plays the victim but uses his trauma to gain fame and promote his career, he has been doing his one man play for many years and now broadcast it to the world via Netflix and made very little effort to disguise his alleged stalker’s identity by having the actress resemble her similarly in appearance and giving her the same career and background. Couple this with his own admission many of the details and events in the series are entirely fictional including her serving jail time for stalking him which gives doubt on his truthfulness and real motivation behind telling his story. I have no doubts he was victimized and there are kernels of truth to the story, but without hard evidence it’s hard impossible to judge the severity of his abuse and what did and did not happen. He and the creators of this series had to have known people would try to track down the real people involved with his story by giving it such a large platform. Say what you will about his alleged stalker but she is a real person with legal and human rights just like you and me who most likely is severally mentally ill. In my opinion the creators just did not care that they are potentially siccing millions of people onto her but only cared about fame and money. This undermines his story and only reinforces his admission that he will do anything for fame and now ironically he is abusing his abuser and seems like a very messed up form of revenge. I don’t think he’s grown as a person or has taken full personal responsibility for his actions despite his claims.
