colleen when she got pregnant: “this isn’t going to turn into a family vlogging channel all about my baby” colleen now: *makes a 15 minute video about flynn eating prunes*. and honestly we couldn’t be happier
Flynn over a year ago: First steps, says some words, is quiet and shy etc Flynn now: Running, jumping, playing, screaming, speaking full sentences, and is gonna be a big brother Wow, just wow, time flies so quick
Flynn sounds just like my son. He was shy & quiet & always watching. He didn't walk till 16 months. And now he's a 19 year old college sophomore theatre major.
I have boy/girl twins and my girl is the more outgoing one and she started walking at 9 months and my boy is more reserved & cautious and he started walking at 11 months but he crawled before her (he was 6 months, she was 8 months). They go back and forth on hitting milestones.
It makes me want to cry seeing how passionate she is about learning about him rather than "creating" him or molding him to the parents wishes as sadly a lot of people do...
@@samg873 mmm I think you got the wrong idea from these comments. One thing is disciplining a child and another is grooming them to have a personality of their parents' liking. It's nice to see Flynn growing into himself, as opposed to someone his parents would like him to be.
@@qwerty14142 no I have seen parents that are not letting kids do anything and always being told no. My niece lives it with her mom daily. That is what I meant. Thought my comment came across as what I meant
@@samg873 Ohh I understand now! Sorry for the misunderstanding, and I'm sorry your niece has to go through that. That seems to be the norm for many children and it sucks. I really hope things get better as she grows older.
My cousin’s son was born with one ear smooshed inward so he can’t hear out of his right ear. He has a hearing aide and he is 1 and 1/2 so he is finally learning sign language and it is the sweetest thing. He will do the sign for okay and when he does it he will swing his arm rapidly. It’s his way of yelling at us 😂
Colleen in her pregnancy announcement video: “dont worry I’m not gonna become ‘pregnant mommy vlogs’” Me then: “mkay, cool” Her channel now: *insert countless baby related titles* Me now: *sniff* ahhhh I smell cap (Btw I still love her content, I just thought it was funny)
When I was learning to swim my dad would do the thing that Eric's doing in the clip, he would move backwards as I went towards him and I hated It!! It's so funny to see another dad doing it. Maybe it's universal?
I'm so impressed with Flynn signing words like that! That's insanely cool and clever! Could you do a video (or even a story on insta) where you explain why you're teaching him signs? Or just answer this comment, you know, I'm just really curious as a fellow mom!
In addition to what the other reply said, it's easier for babies to learn to sign than to learn to speak. They can comprehend words at that age but the motor skills to say them aren't there yet, so signing them is easier
@@keyoshanorman9178 Yeah, I do know about her brother. Isn't he really skilled at reading lips though? But that's probably a reason why she's focused on teaching Flynn signs!
@@stellasdoesstuff That also makes a lot of sense! Just when comparing Flynn to my own two kids at that age, they were just a couple of goofy, clumsy kids and the thought of teaching them actual sign-language is funny to me! They probably would've been able to, but still, Flynn seems to be very clever and evolved for his age!
Hello from 2021. Avid daily vlog watcher. Avid daily Ballinger/Stocklin family fan. I cannot wait for this to be the twins taking their first steps. Thank you for being an open book. 🥰
I’m here after she just have birth to her twins wesley and maisy! The nostalgia how tiny Flynn looks! Now he’s running about, shouting, collecting bugs and playing games all day! It’s so cool to see his growth and yours and Eric’s as well! :) x
Colleen: There is only one thing he loves as much as his mama. Veiwers: His Dad? Colleen: *cars!* *THE FATHER HAS LEFT THE CHAT* Edit: OMG 116 LIKES IN THE FIRST 3 HOURS! Edit again: 248 likes?!?
Watching Colleen with her baby is like watching my own baby grow. It is adorable to see the way Colleen loves her baby and she is one of the best moms I have ever seen
Awwwwww wow you can seriously tell that Colleen really does love her baby so much!!! She’s a wonderful mom! I’m so proud of both her and Flynn and how far they’ve come!
Jessie Shay My oldest son is 11 and I still remember “Signing Time with Alex and Leah.” 😁 We had the books, too. Probably still have the DVDs somewhere.
Flynn: *says "Dardar" for "car"* My brother at Flynn's age: *says "Dissem" for "thank you"* Also, what a nice surprise this video was for me on my birthday today!
Raisins were abbies for my brother, water was habba, and more was boo. 😅 “Boo habba an’ abbies, pees!” We still use the terms in my family, lol. “It’s so hot out there! I’d love some habba.” 🤣 Also, happy birthday to you’
When I was a baby, I would call my mom by her first name. My mom's name is Carol, so I would be like "Cay-oh" and my mom would be like "no, say mommy." And I would be like, "Cay-oh Mommy". Now I'm almost 20 and I'm always calling my mom, "mommy"
The 9:00 min mark is *so* adorable, colleen is just going on & on about breast-feeding and flynn is just going crazy about the “darr darrs” in the book lol 🥰🥰
Amanda Amir it's easier for babies to use sing language. Their brains can process words and know what they mean but their mouth can't make the words noises, so if they learn signs language they can communicate better with their parents. Also Flynn's uncle Trent is deaf or hard of hearing i don't really know, so they teach him sign language so he can talk with his uncle
Hey Colleen I would love to make Flynn a car book personalized to him! If you want to know more please reply or heart! It would be COMPLETELY FREE! I would bring it to you at a meet and greet but I’m to busy! Please like so Colleen can see! I would LOVE to!
I was honestly the same, I had a lot of anxiety as a smol human, my mom told me I didn't actually start carrying conversations until I was about 4, give or take, just because I didn't like talking to people 😂
Give him something in his hand, it makes them feel like they’re holding on to something and gives them more confidence. That’s how my daughter started walking.
Maladen65 We did that too for my baby cousin and he mostly didn’t even care what it was, he just wanted to hold something. He sometimes even held his own panths or something and it was so adorable
How is no one talking about the fact that Colleen’s 1 year old is literally speaking to her with sign language Edit: I appreciate all the feedback from everyone! I don’t have kids of my own so I thought it was simply just impressive, despite how common it may be. Go flynn!🙂
Aryana Wagner babies are amazing. They can think words / understand them far earlier than they can clearly say them - it’s much easier to learn a sign than how to make sounds :) you have to learn how to make every single different sound, and how to combine them, before you can talk, but long before then he will have understood what he wants to say
Aryana Wagner it’s pretty common. Babies can usually sign before speaking so teaching them basic signs leads to earlier communication and therefor way less tantrums and such! We were given a book of basic signs in the packet we were sent home from the hospital with when our oldest was born in 2002.
And the teacher is so annoyed that she's encouraging that. I taught this age. Use the actual word, and they will learn it. Let them say the wrong word and it will take a LONG time to fix it. The number of kids that said wawa for water and I had to get them to break that habit...
every kid has their “thing” and my nephew (who is turning seven this year) has been obsessed with dinos since he was like 6 months. i forsee flynn loving cars for a loooooooong time
My 7yr-old started watching Thomas when he was under a year old, was absolutely obsessed till he was about 4. It's tapered off, but he still loves trains today! 😁
Colleen: I'm working on a big special project me: sis you've already had a baby, got married, went on broadway, got your own netflix special, got your own netflix tour, toured the world, released a lipstick line, released two books, run three channels, have appeared in a disney movie...WHAT"S NEXT anyways I think her project could be an autobiography for her instead of Miranda, or maybe some sort of documentary since she's obsessed with them!!
