My new born son is just like Jackson, day time he sleeps 15 minute naps in his crib. At night maybe two and half to three hours. I had no idea this could be so hard. You give me so much positive energy. Everyday I think that you have made it for four months. I can make it too!

Have you tried any purées? Also, did Jackson’s digestion handle the cereal well? I just ordered some purées and oatmeal cereal for my 5 month old dude to try soon. I am nervous to start before 6 months though because I have heard before can cause issues and my dude has also had gas and reflux issues 😕

This is a little off topic but I am curious! I’m a pretty heavy youtube watcher- I’m a college student but I love watching youtube moms and life style as well as fitness videos and the occasional couple videos/channels 😂 I have a lot of love for the people I watch and am just curious, is there other ways we can support youtubers other than watching your ads and videos and obviously subscriptions? Do thumbs up help, etc? I usually watch youtube for background noise too while cooking or doing homework so I let ads play through because I’ve always thought they helped the content creators but I guess I’m curious to know if there’s little things viewers can do to help you guys. I’m a filmmaker, creating content is NOT easy and I know that. your content is very appreciated, from those of all ages hehe :) I remember you ranting in a previous blog about a comment you got over having “too” many ads and I was pretty upset for you understanding how long and tedious editing and shooting is so I think that’s where the question might have come from. How things change! My oldest son is 26, and when he was one month old, my pediatrician told me to mix rice cereal in his bottle right before I put him down for the night...he loved it, and he started sleeping straight through the night. Then the pediatrician had me feeding him cereal and fruits and vegetables at 2 months...

Omg I am living the same thing now for his sleep! I was just crying so much this morning because he didn't want to nap and I had my toddler asking for attention 😭

Whoa! Little man is looking like a baby instead of an infant now, suddenly. He really doesn't have that tiny, fragile newborn look anymore. And he is looking out at the world more like deciding what he can get into, instead of he's not quite sure how he feels about what's going on. Some babies and toddlers thrash around in their cribs/beds and flip-flop like flounders and talk to themselves and go through all sorts of gyrations to get to sleep. Jackson will find his way to self-soothing, if you let him. If he is given attention by you every 10-15 minutes, he will keep that up partially for the attention. Although, if during the night if you hear him stirring you just go quietly put your hand on his chest with a bit of pressure to silently let him Some children just take longer to get to sleep at night. This is not unlike adults. Some of us can go to sleep right away, but cannot go back to sleep so readily if we awaken during the night and vice versa. This sounds goofy because babies are totally helpless, but they are also much more durable than we think they are. Hip Hip Hooray, Jackson! What a good night's sleep. If he keeps squirming, wriggling and trying to move around it will help tire him out for better sleep. I think businesses selling adult coloring books and puzzles are having sell-outs during this self-isolation period. And since this could go on a year or two, they'd better start making more of them. LOL. Do you all play cards or chess or tiles or anything like backgammon? I assume you know Spanish. Teach Joe Spanish. Fondues are good. They never went out of style in Europe. Only Americans tire of good things when their novelty has worn off. 'Je ne sais quoi' is French for 'I know not what.' That phrase is used positively to say that something is so special it can't be clearly pinned down or defined. I think in English we'd be likely to say 'it has a certain something' and mean it as a positive comment. So with that tea/coffee maker the carafe is separate from all the brewing apparatus? I don't think I've ever seen that make before, though we've all seen carafes. That type of carafe can be used for French press types of brewing. He's a little young to sleep through the entire night, but he could maybe at this age go down at 7-8pm, do a dream feed at perhaps midnight-1am, awaken at 5-6 to feed and go back down for an hour or two before fully awakening for the day. You could reasonably get two longer stretches and a final shorter one. See what happens with the rice cereal added to his diet. A pandemic isn't bad enough, now I have to face that Jackson has a girlfriend! So funny how he took to the doll. You may have a rabbit warren under your lawn. It is springtime, so rabbits will be out in the grass and flower beds. Usually near the bathroom sinks you hang hand towels, so that people washing their hands or face in the sink can grab the smaller towel to dry off, as opposed to something the size of a bath towel. It's better for him to sit up when he's eating. The body works on gravity and there's less chance of choking. Just put him in a bumbo with a tray attached or whatever you have. He can sit in Joe's lap while you feed him. He is not spitting it out. He is doing a version of the tongue thrusts babies do when hungry because he has no idea what it is and what he is supposed to do with it. So they use the tongue thrust and forward gag reflex to start to explore what is in their mouths and how they chew and swallow. It will be interesting when he's taken the rice cereal for a period of time to see what effect this has on his sleep longevity at night or even naps and if his poops get easier and more frequent.
