My midwife suggested watching these instead of shelling out $350 for a prenatal class - thank you for posting these! You’re wonderful. And so generous for those of us who don’t have that kind of extra cash in the budget. I need to save that $350 for baby stuff!
This was a great video. I only had a hard time getting past the partner part because I'm doing this alone. So when she said it was the most important thing in the world my heart broke a little bit. Shout out to all the moms doing it alone - we got this ❤
Big hugs! I hope you had a smooth birth. I'm a single mom as well and have to pick between my mom and my sister to be in the room with me. I hope you had someone with you 💕
@@khristydiaz2035 I had a great birth, and did it all natural - my baby was almost 9lbs lol my mom and dad were with me and it was a magical experience. My life is complete 🥰
@@khristydiaz2035 check with the hospital to see if you can have a "support person" in addition to your plus one. The support person (my dad) was able to stay through delivery but had to leave once we were transferred to postpartum. My plus one (my mom) stayed with me through my entire visit at the hospital.
Koda T yah definetly it is helpful as I was looking for a class but nothing available near me so instead I searched online and found her video! She is a great teacher 😎
I couldn't agree more. Thank you for these videos. I gave birth to my 1st child 3 mo. ago and your advice was so valuable to us. Thank you for being a part of this beautiful, wonderful experience. God bless you.
I totally agree!! I've been looking up pregnancy classes and a lot of them are $200 which a lot of people can't afford. I'm currently 18 weeks and you can't take pregnancy classes until you're at least 30 weeks most of the time. This allows me to learn early and start to become prepared!! And it's free!!
There are other ones you can do online for small fee. I haven't bought yet but positive birth company has good reviews.. I haven't finished watching these videos yet.
As a man, i really appreciated how unquestionably inclusive this class was with dads. It’s been really discouraging so far being treated as though I’m second class, and like my job is done...
I love this woman. I really love what she said about partnerships and about men. I'm the one giving birth but my man is going through this with me and becoming a parent for the first time too. I love that she gives good men and fathers their due credit. She's caring and empathetic and knowledgeable, if only every one in health care was as great as this woman!
Yeah! When she said that about men, my man heard it and was like "yeah! It's our baby too!" He really liked hearing how supportive she was. It's true that often we hear advice all for mama, and then at some point there's a comment "Oh yeah, you too dad" or the like. So thanks for being so supportive with this class, for all partners!
I had my first baby almost 5 years ago and attended an in-person birthing class that was an hour long for 6 weeks and idk, $100 or so. My hospital hosted the class and is really excellent. The trainer was very kind and knowledgeable as well. I had my second child almost 2 years ago and found these videos as a refresher before going into delivery for #2. I remember these videos being SO much more useful. Any first-time mommas that aren't able to attend in-person classes, be assured that these videos are A++ and you're going to be prepared as well as any 🙌 I'm back again because baby #3 should be here in a week! 🎉
Practical highlights for me to come back to and review closer to my due date, but I figure they'll be helpful for others as well! 13:50 Bashful elephant maneuver 23:45 Penguin walk 29:20 Makine cervix more favorable for birth 37:47 Help for back pain/back labor
I really appreciate this midwife's perspective on dads. It's nice to see someone being realistic and not dismissive of men during childbirth. Just like it always irks me when people see a mom out with the girls and they say "oh, I see Dad is babysitting tonight." No, dad is being a parent; he's not a babysitter until mom gets home.
FTM here too! Found this free webinar series from a midwife/lactation consulting based on Ontario Canada. Classes are 2 hrs in length and give opportunity for Q&A. Here’s the link in case it’s helpful to anyone! markhamprenatal.com/?mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTkRZMU5ERmxOR0V6TlRRMSIsInQiOiJxNjFrT0liMEJuTUcrQnQ3bG52dlNsUDJScll2NFJReXNyQmFaZStOK2ZWb21BWk9idEJ0SlYxMG85TnhxS1NGMzRoYWQzNTN4ZDBYejNCK0J3YytYM2R2bjN3elQ5SGVwTXA3YllHRlQ4VkluK3hJQlwvYzR1ZHNVYVFIXC82ekphIn0%3D
From one educator to another I must say this was a very informative video. I am linking this underneath my next pregnancy update. I was very impressed with the presenter and everything else.
Thank you so much for this! As another FTM who had her birth classes cancelled thanks to COVID, this was a huge help and gave more info than the videos provided by my doctor.
Lol I never saw these comments! It actually went pretty well! I had an unmedicated birth. I did have back labor but thankfully the whole thing was quite fast.
So I'm 22 weeks right now and I decided to start looking up birthing classes and looking into it. Man I couldn't turn this video off, so well spoken and so informative! So glad I found this.
My daughter just shared this with me. She was so happy to find it ahead of delivering her first child and I was too as my memory is foggy after 35 years so not confident about advising her! When she was born I was inspired by the ideas of Le Boyer and I'm happy to see that his ideas about delaying cutting the cord etc. are now mainstream in Canada. Holliday is so calm, straightforward and informative - love the focus on husbands. My Japanese husband was initially apprehensive 35 years ago but was a tower of strength and a total convert. What a treasure these videos are!
I'm from a very very very small town, and I am so thankful these are here so my husband and I can watch together! The nearest town is 40 miles away and the nearest offering birth classes is an hour and a half. This eases our mind!
Thank you very much, Holliday Tyson, for this VERY informative lecture. I love how you dignified men, the different type of pelvis and exercises that can help with a smooth labor. For a FTM at 30 weeks pregnant, and who's OB-GYN doesn't say much during our appointments, it's nice to listen to your advice. And yes, you really do have a nice voice. I could listen to you for hours. And it's a plus for me that you're in Ontario. I'm in the Toronto region. Again, thank you
I watched this when I was pregnant with my first and it was so incredibly helpful. I remember thinking about some of the things I learned from these videos during my birth. It helped me so much mentally to know what stage of labour I was in. Now I'm pregnant with my second and watching again to prepare. Thank you for these videos!
Back for a refresher. Pregnant with my second baby and due within 2wks! 🎉 thank you again for posting these, they are so much better than any course or hospital day I’ve ever been to.
Thank you thank you THANK YOU. This is my first baby and my ADHD and social anxiety can't be treated very well while pregnant. I was finding with in-person classes I had such a hard time focusing and retaining the information, and just feeling overal anxious and physically uncomfortable, but with the video format I can pause it whenever I need, relax, rewind it, relisten, and its AMAZING. Besides the fact most of the class times conflicted with my partners work schedule or hes too exhausted by the end of the day, now we can both watch it together while we cuddle on the couch after a long day! This is truly a blessing. I cannot thank you enough.
I can’t thank you enough for posting these. I’ve learned so much. This is so kind of you to post these for people who can’t afford prenatal classes. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
OMG lady, I love you! This was so far the best thing that I came across to in the last months. I am full term tomorrow and I feel much calmer and prepared, thanks to you.
I am so grateful for you having put this online. We live an hour away from where any birthing classes are offered, and my husband and myself never have the same days off so this has helped SO much!!
Thank you very much Holliday Tyson! We didn't have time to get into any classes so you are a life saver! I feel so much more prepared to support my wife after watching your videos! God bless!
I'm a first-time mom due in early September and with Covid-19 cancelling all in-person classes I REALLY appreciate this resource being available. Definitely going to watch later with the hubs!
Echoing all the comments here, this video was brilliant. Amazing level of knowledge that you would not get anywhere else and extremely well-spoken. Thank you for uploading this to RU-vid for free!!
Holliday, thank you for sharing these and making them accessible to parents all across the world. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I learned a great deal and feel more at ease.
Thank you very much for this video! Useful advice, great presentation, good audio and video quality, no echo in recording, no unnecessary music added. Thank you very much Ms Tyson for the presentation, and thank you Maternity Care Midwives for sharing this for free online!
I know this video was posted 3 years ago but it is absolutely amazing.. everything she said in the first 5 minutes sold me and it was definitely worth the watch!
FTM here and this series of videos has been SO HELPFUL! I love that you go over everything in detail. You answered a lot of questions I had. I love your demeanor and way of teaching as well. Thank you so much for posting!
Thank you very much for this video!! Here in Hong Kong in the local public hospital we registered they only provide prenatal classes in Cantonese. This video is sooooo helpful to us to get prepared. It's very informative, nicely structure, and clearly explained. A lot of info we didn't get from other videos or books. Excellent work!!
I'm feeling much better about not signing up for a traditional prenatal class yet. This first part was extremely helpful and informative. Can't wait to watch the next 2. Thank you Ms Holliday!
Well, my wife and I are having a baby boy at the end of June. We didn't know that the classes were 4 weeks long, so we opted out. I'm sure glad I found this video and the instructor lady is awesome. Can't wait to continue on. Enjoy everyone.
Thank you so much for these videos! As a mother of 3 expecting number 4 I don't have much opportunity to go attend classes and this has been such a blessing! I have had most unpleasant births and this has relieved so much fear and anxiety. Thank you again!
Great lecture with exceptionally lucid and helpful explanations. There are not so many people who can talk so well like Holliday in this video. Thank you a lot for posting this!
🥰 I have watched your videos for my first and second child with both they where so helpful to my peace of mind in labor. I kept telling myself I’m okay my baby is okay in mid contractions. And I can’t tell you how much that helped me. Also the mutual attention my husband and I gave each other was so Gratifying . Thank you for that . As We prepare for our third child I can’t imagine watching any other videos to get us mentally prepared. For that I must thank you once again ❣️
Great class, we really liked it, learned a lot more than in many other classes/books with these three parts series (labour and postnatal videos are also great) . Very condensed, informative...with great humour. I also liked how the"mechanics" of it are explained, rarely find that in other classes. Thanks for making this available!
I read many books and blogs and also took a formal class for my first child. This class was my favorite resource. I'm watching this again now for my second child.
I love the way Tyson taught!! She explains everything mechanically and physically. Helping us for a better understanding and easing a lot of our minds!!
I watched this pregnancy video for my first two homebirths and back again. It is still the best out there. Thank you sooooo much for this information!💛
I'm so happy for these online prenatal classes. I'm high risk pregnancy I was told I cannot do any exercises so I don't end up having a premature baby. We are trying to make it where the baby can stay in as long as possible. I'm not allowed to go anywhere. I'm strictly bed bound. So I'm happy I can see a prenatal class to prepare me for child birth. Thank you!
Thank you soo much. Im 31weeks pregnant with my first baby and with cancelled classes, I was starting to worry. Not having any clue on what I'm doing right or wrong, labour preparation and all. You're heaven sent
In this time we are leaving, I was not able to sign up for my birth classes. As result, I was very anxious and feeling not prepare at all. I started looking for some classes online and I found this videos. I started watching them with my husband. They are great! My anxious level diminished and I feel very blessed that Maternity Care Midwives upload this classes. Feeling grateful. Thank you!
Thank you for this! My husband and I couldn't go to a class in person because he's stationed in another state. He comes to visit every other weekend, so we decided to take the stress off and just look up a prenatal class on RU-vid. We both learn so much from your class!!
It was a relief to have this available, what with in-person classes being suspended due to Covid. Really glad I found these videos. I feel better and more confident now knowing what my body is built to do.
This is my first time being pregnant and automatically I can hear your experience and calmness in your tone of voice and manner. You make it incredibly fascinating and calming to watch and I never got put off, but felt more in control. That was a great session, I wish you were in London, UK! :-)
This class was excellent. Took a class through my local hospital and was unable to finish it. These three videos condensed the information, provide evidence based explanations and humor. Feel more prepared watching a free youtube video than through the live class.
Thank you for this class! My husband and I took a day long "crash course" a few months ago and I was planning on going to more courses as I got closer to my due date but our city is on lockdown due to Covid 19. Thank you for your kind words regarding male partners being present for the birth. I think fathers deserve some credit too!
Thank you very much. I am really impressed with the presenter, she is very informative and knowledgeable. She has highlighted many important stuffs that were spinning in my head. Thank you again. God bless you!
Wow. Thank you for sharing this! I get my care through an army base and it’s been such a struggle! This is AMAZING. Thank you! I am a first time mom and feel so much more educated now!
As someone who has been able to take a class previously in person, I was really afraid that I wouldn't find something good online now that the pandemic has limited my options. This was awesome. Really dynamic and relatable, great information, and much appreciated.
My husband and I couldn't attend the prenatal class offered by our hospital, and we are very happy to have found this one online. We learned a lot! Thank you!
I just want to say thanks so much for posting. I am only 20 minutes in, and the information that I've gained is already so good. This is my first child so I'm new to everything but you break it down so well and while staying so fun and relatable and still manage to give the proper information without making me feel like I'm going to die lol. I along with many others appreciate you for this. Thank you so very much ❤❤
Ms. Holliday, you are so lovely and fun, motivating and relatable. You are an exemplary educator, and it was a pleasure to watch this very helpful course. So pleased to have found your series, many thanks for sharing!
Wow, thanks for this series. Wonderful!!! One of the best I've seen including classes I've taken myself. I needed a class to recommend to a young couple who couldn't manage to get out to a class.
I watched this course for my first pregnancy and birth and felt very prepared! Thank you for posting this extremely helpful resource. I plan in watch again as a refresher in preparation for my 2nd birth :)
Thank you so much Holiday for posting this. i am 35 weeks pregnant and this information is helping me so much. A big thank you all the way from Ocho Rios, Jamaica!
I want to say thank you so much for posting these online. I gave birth in Ukraine and although I spoke the language I was scared to take courses. I watched these videos several times and this was so incredibly useful. As my husband and I think about having another I will definitely be re watching these
I keep being told to go to a class but I can't even afford a bus pass to get to them let alone to pay for a class... thank god you uploaded these, I wasn't even going to try to go to a class but since it's online I'll definitely watch
I mean this with no disrespect as I too was pregnant and went down the route of adoption for them as I wasn’t financially stable. Have you considered paying for a baby for 18+ years if you don’t have the funds for classes or busses?
This was so useful! I am the father and I could not get anytime off for work for the antenatal class... which was causing problems with my wife and I. I told her I will watch videos and educate my self. She is very unhappy she has to go alone and I also feel terrible
Out of all the videos I've seen, you have really helped me understand so much and I feel like finally I can relax. Thank you sooooo much. Your info is so very helpful to feel like I can calm down
This was very informative and a tremendous help. I appreciate you posting your classes because I really wanted to educate myself during my pregnancy but could not afford to take all the classes I needed due to other expenses coming up. Thank you!
I’m pregnant for the first time at 39 and living in a country where I’m not a native speaker and have had terrible experiences with doctors (who are almost all men). This is incredibly helpful information.
omg I want to cry this is sooo good! I am from Romania and well... we don't get a lot of support for our pregnancies other then like the analyses and stuff, which is obviously great, but you end up going into labour and giving birth without knowing any of this stuff, and omg this is great, thank you sooo much! You are brilliant
This is a friken godsend. Learning in the comfort of my own home with my partner costing me zero $ and the video is actually hard to stop watching! Very interesting
Yes i wish i had come across these videos before i booked for NCT classes

Thank you so much for posting this!! It's my first time pregnancy and I'm living in Germany and don't speak the language very good so this is a huuuuuge help for me cause I've been trying to make sense of it all and prepare myself but it's been a confusing journey 😊 Thank you again!!!!! You have explained everything I wanted to know and understand and did so in a very calm and reassuring way ❤️ any woman is very lucky to have you by her side 💞
