The vent filters catch different size things floating in the air. Just like when we had to wear the mask during covid. Some catch very small dust or droplets of things others don’t.

I don't know if that brand filter has them but if you look on one of the sides for an arrow that arrow needs to point inward towards the inner of the box . I know this cause I worked with my dad in the HVAC business so I know most everything when it comes to that stuff and I'm only 41 so if you have any questions or need help trying to figure out what might the problem let me know somehow and I'll either try and answer it or I can go to my dad and ask him and get back to you
