Babies sleep a lot, and ensuring they sleep in a safe position is very important because wrong sleeping positions in infants can sometimes lead to SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). SIDS in children is caused due to suffocation or strangulation. If you have an infant at home, it is essential that you know everything about the ideal newborn baby sleeping positions and how certain sleeping positions can cause sudden deaths in newborns. Watch this video to know more about the best sleeping position for a baby.
You may have observed infants sleeping in various positions. Some of these sleeping positions increase the risk of sudden unexpected death in infancy (SUDI). Sleeping on the chest/stomach is one of the most dangerous positions for infants. This video will take you through the best and worst sleeping positions for a newborn baby.

Although many people say you should keep a baby sleeping on the back I completely disagree. My teacher told me that the doctors said to keep her baby sleeping on his back and when she did everything was fine until he vomited and almost choked to death because the vomit kept going back into his mouth and up his nose, he almost died. Even though sleeping on the back keeps the airways open for breathing the same happens when sleeping on the side, just make sure the baby isn't on their stomach and supervise their sleeping constantly. Overall, sleeping on the back isn't always the right choice.

This is a really important video! It's crucial for parents to be aware of safe sleeping positions for their babies, as it can help to prevent incidents of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). It's great to see that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends placing babies on their backs to sleep, as this has been shown to be the safest position. It's also important to make sure that the baby's sleep environment is free of any potential hazards, such as loose bedding or stuffed animals. Thank you for sharing this important information!

Ok but through research I read that if baby is old enough to roll in both directions it is safe to side sleep and or sleep on tummy. My baby is 7 months old and is learning to sleep in multiple positions no problem I have no clue how all I know is when I place her on her back she doesn't even last 10 minutes of course when she was younger this wasn't the case until recently

I prefer the left side for my 1 month old same position my mom usedfor us all because you can spot up milk and choke while on your back I bought thoseaide cushions I got at the baby shop so it goes on the back and atomic of the baby to keep them on the side

Whoever made the back position the safest should check again. Do they ever consider babies choking on the milk or vomit lying on their backs? I believe that is the most dangerous and I wouldn’t participate in doing that. My new born slept on his side for 2 month,on his third month I discovered he slept more hours 4-5hours on his tummy. I make sure there are nothing on his bed. All sheet tucked securely inside.

You are so right!! My son was choking in his vomit when he was 5 weeks old. Thank god my mother instinct was telling me something was wrong en checked on him and saved him. We bought a special pillow so he could sleep on his side with a role behind and in front off him so he could not roll over. Sorry if my English is bad its not my language.

@chelseyummali
@chelseyummali 2 года назад
Reflux can be decreased by extended back pats for burping. Some first time mommy's don't realize how much burps can come up for those first few moths. Second my first was a big boy with a big heavy head. I noticed sleeping on his back was causing a flat spot on his head so I started side sleeping him, alternating every night, right side, left side ect. I'd put a barrier in front of him and behind him to keep him from rolling over. If the barrier is heavy enough they shouldn't flip on their belly. I woke up a few times to him wiggling onto his back but thankfully it worked out for us.
@ebony9145
@ebony9145 2 года назад
@@shamisocchiwara honesty, No. He’s 18 weeks now. For me, what I did was rotate him on his side right to left then on his back. Which has help. I put him to sleep on his side for his naps (I watch him while his naps). At nights he sleeps on his back; but I have been researching but I haven’t find any information on what exactly to do.
