Why buy him at all. Leave him in his natural habitat. He eats the food he likes glides to trees he likes. Its how its meant to be. I fell as time goes on people want to own more and more animals lol. Let them be free the way nature intended. Im totally for the video tho. Help any animal you can any time you can.
@@Akaya3511 it's pure selfishness, raising exotic animals for your own pleasure. People themselves are boring but they buy exotic animals to attract attention and feel special. I mean, who wouldn't want to know more about you after you show sugar glider pics on Facebook? It's not the first time when Dodo users suport using wild animals as pets which to me is hypocritical. Some of you don't drink milk because it exploits cows, but having sugar gliders as animals is A-Okay because they're cute. Animals bred in captivity are there in the first place because of your demand. Your gilded cage is still a cage and you are depriving an animal of something precious no matter how you sugar coat it. No wonder "TIger King" is so popular-he is your hero.
It takes a special person to know when to hold on to loved ones, and when to let go. Thank you for raising him and then allowing him to live a full glider life.
So true, but on the other hand , some of these animals like my starling will live 3 or 4 years in the wild ,and 20 plus years as pets, I don't say 'captivity' for a reason.
@@ykook7000 True! the bit where smugglers destroy environment and rip babies away from their families, often killing adults of several species at the same time is horrific.

@@stephlrideout Awwwww! You are so lucky! I got to feed and cuddle baby squirrels, and baby opossums one time, and I nearly died from an overdose of adorableness! At the time, I had been feeding raccoons on our back porch. It was too cool...we had made friends with 2 raccoons (which turned out to be a "couple"), that we fed every night. Then they disappeared for a few weeks, and I thought the spell had been broken, and that our racoons friends were gone, but they showed back up one night with 4 babies!!! The babies were over the top adorable, and they were so friendly to us; so much that we were able to hand feed them. Anyway, because of that experience, I decided I needed to see a baby squirrel. I found a list of people in the area who took in abandoned wildlife, and randomly chose one person on the list to call. Turns out the lady I called said that although she'd never done it before, she'd be happy to let me (a total and complete stranger) come to her house to see the babies. When I got there she showed me around her house, the cages she'd built around her property, and of course the little fluff balls. I have a whole new appreciation for opossums because of that lady. A few yrs ago someone brought her an opossum that had been hit by a car, and she ended up keeping her because at the same time she had a litter of baby opossums who needed milk, and the one hit by a car happened to be lactating! She knew it wasn't their mom because their mom had died; it was just perfect timing. 🤷🏼♀️ The momma wouldn't be able to be released to the wild after she was healed, so she just kept her as a pet, and she was absolutely adorable and so sweet! She would come in the house and cuddle on the couch with humans, and was there to help comfort all the babies that were brought there. Perfect! Baby opossums are too damn cute, which was shocking to me, considering adult opossums are the scariest looking things on Earth. 😉 But the baby squirrels were on a whole different level of cute...they were so tiny and soft, I never wanted to leave! It was such a great experience and I couldn't thank her enough for letting me come over that night. When I asked her how she got involved in taking in these little guys, she told me she was a nurse so it just kinda came naturally. I said, well that makes sense because I'm a nurse too....and get this...we worked at the same freakin' hospital! And it's not like there's only one hospital near by, there are like 10 hospitals nearby but we both worked at the same one, and it's not even in the city where we both lived. It sure is a small world! *Now I'm going to have to find someone who will let me feed baby sugar gliders! 😉
I have twin sugar gliders and me and my sister share them. There names are Ace and Max. There were all heathy until Ace my baby got something wrong with his eye. It took months for him to recover. But he was strong and his brother helped him a lot. He is now healthy and good again. Just his eye has a film but he does not feel pain. He can see fine with it too! This is to tell u that everything can be fixed! Love y’all sugar glider owners.
*Sugar Glider: Return to the Wild* Incredible video of the creature getting the strength back while growing up. Discovering its hidden abilities, and receiving so much love and care by these people. And the best part, meet others of his kind, bond and live once again with nature around them. IRL Story Overall: *10/10* 😁👍💛
@@samanthalemmon3539 The comments on this video really show a severe lack of critical thinking. I don't think these people understand what happens to prey animals in the wild. They aren't dying of old age
Guys, sugar gliders aren't "wild" animals in all cases. In their native environment such as this video, yes they are. But in the usa they are pets and are not native. Do NOT release captive bred gliders in the usa. They will NOT survive. If you find one outside, it's more than likely someone's pet, you should try to capture them. I know about gliders because I used to have 14 in total, in several colonies. I want to clarify that most (if not all) gliders in the usa are NOT captured. They are bred out. If you want to consider some as pets, please note you need to do tons of research! On top of that pairs! Have to have more than one! Gliders have been around long in the usa, and aren't wild, but aren't "domestic" either. What the woman in this video did was perfect. He was born wild. She helped him and released him. He seemed to only be a few weeks old in the beginning, which is sad. His mom probably dropped him.
Such a good soul she is. I wish them all the happiness in the world. Because they deserve it. Every person in this world who has humanity, kind and love for others should get all the happiness. ❤❤ Respect 💕
This is adorable! I have 18 gliders of my own, and I love them to death! They are such smart and vocal little creatures! Also, please don’t impulse buy! There is a lot of hard work and care that goes into them!
You are amazing humans. Your video made my heart very happy and I am so stoked you are on the planet and caring for our little friends. Hugs and loves from Oregon USA. Keep up the amazing hustle and THANK YOU!
Sugar gliders can meet one another for the first time and instantly be friends. ❤ Humans meet one another for the first time and just judge one another. 😥
@@daryeusford9696 like how not to automatically judge a person right off the bat. It's like judging a book by its cover. People tend to judge you by your looks, personality and clothes and so forth. These animals apparently accept you for who you are and they are not as judgmental as humans. That's one reason why they say a dog is man's best friend. But whatever you want to think. I have a right to my feelings on the subject as much as you do.
The animals in this video are wild. Sugar gliders are not a domesticated animal and I’m horrified to have just realized that they are sold as pets in the USA. They belong in the wild in their natural habitat in Australia, PNG and Indonesia. Please just stick to domesticated animals.
If humans were meant to be omnivores, we wouldn't have compassion for small animals, instead we kill and eat them right away. This shows that humans don't have a predatory instinct to hunt. We're herbivores and that's why we help animals.
I have compassion for my car because I got attached to it. There are jokes that people pack-bond with anything including inanimate objects. I obviously understand the point you're trying to make and I'm in no way trying to bash vegans or vegetarians but the logic just doesn't hold up given the scope of human emotion.
What an incredibly ADORABLE little guy, and such a heartwarming story of wonderful, caring people doing just what he needed to have a successful future in his natural habitat! I don't know how anyone could give this a thumbs down?!?!
@@lucakat9262 Cheers Tracey. :-) The Release part is always the hardest, but the gratification is worth it. Especially when they come back for a visit. :-)
@@mikeymike758 I bet it is hard to release them, however, I understand what you are saying. I would miss them myself but it would certainly make up for it when they come to visit.😉🙂
With how young he is, he isnt supposed to be that big. Theyre all that small at the start. Anyone who is looking into them wanting it bc its cute. You should never get just 1, they are COLONY ANIMALS and are VERY high maintenance. PLEASE do NOT buy any UNLESS YOU RESEARCH!!!! Previous owner/breeder here requesting this.
TRUE STORY..I used to have a sugar glider.. i bought him at a market.. he was in bad shape no idea why.. very thin did not move much with dirty water n rotten apple..felt sorry n took him home.. he was with me for 14years.. one bad day i was involved in a car accident with a wild buffalo while being 8 months plus pregnant n on the way to the hospital back to my husband village for a emergency c-section.. i was able to reach to the hospital safely.. but the day after i found out that my sugar glider had died at my mom house the night i had the accident.. i believe he knew what was going to happen to me n change his life for mine.. because the condition of my car no one would believe i was in that car with only few cuts on my hand n leg with broken glass all over me. Looking at the car even i dont know how m i still alive now.
Hi im from indonesia, I love that pet and i whant to buy The store is in mall and im happy but... I can't get the pet bc it cosh to mutch ;( And my dad whon't let me bc hes only care birds not his family ;[
Wouldn’t it be something if they came from the same “family”? Maybe the little sugar glider was seperated from 1 or both of those other sugar gliders. How cute they are though!
Sugar gliders are wonderful companions, but not the best idea for those who cannot give them the care they need. They are social animals and have a complex diet.
I understand your intention is good but many people take advantage of these things and buy or sell innocent animals( trade animals) for greed for money. Never support such type of people. It's always better to rescue helpless animals and give them better home and lives.
I love Sugar Gliders! They are fascinating little creatures. It is wonderful Vern came into the care of such great humans. Returning to their home should always be the goal. And what a heartfelt introduction to the other two Sugar Gliders. That was beautiful. Great job, all the way around, with Vern and the other Sugar Gliders. Three happy, healthy creatures going home was priceless to watch. Another great story Dodo! ~❣️
"He's really a fighter. He wants to live." Loved that Vern was released back into the wild and that he found and was accepted by his fellow Sugar Gliders.
Oh my god! I am so absolutely glad that he was taken care of and got well. Sugar Gliders are such delicate and cuddly creatures! Absolute love. God bless the lady who took care of him. 😍
