I guess there are a few resident Tarpon there in NW Florida....the baby poons are load of fun though... I lived in Fairhope, AL for about 5 years so had an opportunity to do some fishing around there...

My PB tarpon was 44kg caught off the east coast of Costa Rica. On a fly rod and yes, I almost pissed myself when it slammed the fly. That was... 1991-ish.

Great day on the water and some nice catches. Those mini-Tarpon are really acrobatic and strong. I wish you would have gotten into some bigger Ladyfish. I’ve caught them on the fly in TX and they spend more time out of the water than they do in it. I totally enjoyed the video and your comments.

A few words about gear would be useful. Weight rod, line type, leader material and weight. Also difference between trout set and strip set, which clearly you have mastered ... lol would be nice for many of your viewers.

@@HugeFlyFisherman I'll agree the videos people put out where they spend 30 minutes taking gear are annoying. However, I've never fished for those species and knowing typical gear would be useful to me when considering it. How long does it take to say 8 wt, floating line, 30 lb flouro leader? Or maybe even in the description.

@@HugeFlyFisherman my buddy who hardcore chases baby tarpon in that same area and who I fish with when I am down there uses 3 wgt through 6 wgts in the winter months and 7 through 9 in the warmer months .... summer months you can hit much larger tarpon, jacks, snook ... you can land tarpon under 18 inches on some pretty light tackle ... lightest I go in the winter down there is a 5 wgt ...but that is in very specific areas where I know the tarpon are all under 18 inches

The snoek your end seem pretty well behaved. Our snoek have long poisonous teeth and are bitey Mcbitefaces and have no problem stripping minorities of their rights.
