Thank you so much I knew I wasnt tripping I'm 28 weeks used a stethoscope it sounded like swooshing every few seconds I'll hear a pop after hearing the swooshing for a while I was hearing the baby moving insted of heart beat I was getting scared lol
The whooshing sound however is not always the placenta. It can also just be your arteries pumping blood through your body. I’m not pregnant but have the “placenta” sound in 3 places next to my heart beat. Two on either side closest to my hips and one just slightly down and to the right of my belly button.
I’m at 16 weeks right now and baby’s heartbeat doesn’t sound galloping like that! It sounds more like it always has, even though I know she’s grown to at least 13 weeks at the 13-week ultrasound. Are you sure that’s the 16-week sound? Or is that from a higher-end Doppler? That is VERY vigorous compared to what I hear…
I see this was a couple years ago but just for anyone reading this- this is perfectly normal. The galloping is just when the Doppler is catching the rhythm *right* on the heart. The baby moves around so much so it’s normal if you don’t always catch the galloping sound, which is directly from baby’s heart and valves. Perfectly normal to only catch the whooshing which is the baby’s blood flow and/or pumping sound via placenta
Physicists have said for a long time now that we humans are made of nearly 100% supernova, and other things of that nature, so it is especially interesting and ironic that the sound of the heartbeat and bloodflow of the fetus is (in some ways) similar to pulsating neutron stars.
I’m having the same experience but I’m unaware of what the lady means by ‘maternal sounds’ as mine both sound like this. And I’m worried. I know you posted this a year ago so did you have one or two babies lol xx
