I know Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot my password. I love any help you can give me!
@Tristan Ahmad I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
'Don't you guys have any hobbies?!??!!' Pretty funny until you realize just how many times someone's crazed into Sheridan's head and scrambled it. Poor Sheridan. :(
Well if he wanted a nice greeting maybe don't show up and go straight to the horror show maybe have a nice chat first then show him the nightmare clip I mean I'd be pissed if I were Sheridan to.
This is when, if you're Sheridan, you say, "Hey Galen, y'know I have a problem too. Even if this comes true, I'll be DEAD by then. Wanna help a fella out? Let's make a deal."
Taxi Guy: "Get off the road! What do you think you're doing?!? Look to the sides!" Sheridan: "Up yours!" I love those lines! :) Just like Sheridan and Kosh: Kosh: Go away. Sheridan: Only if you agree. Kosh: Disobedient. Sheridan: Up yours!
heh....the cliched rude NYC cabbie part was funny....after Sheridan tells him "UP YOURS!" you can tell Galen has to try really hard to not laugh hilariously :-P
Yeah! and he looks away innocently when Sheridan looks at him. xD Galen has a weird, yet understandible kind of humor. He shows Sheridan a vision of his destroyed world and complaines about the "not so warm welcome". :D
Out of the 2 episodes this one was my favourite. Even if for no other reason than the satisfaction of seeing the high quality New York CGI which feels much more satisfying than the 'Space Invaders' affects of the early episodes of first couple of seasons.
i think its the best series ever. Dont change anything. In a way its a philosofic journey. Who are you what do you want and why are we here:D Gives shivers around my spine forever.
the CGI in crusader was... to put it bluntly.... terrible and im fairly generous when it comes to some CGI stuff but even when i first saw that, mein reaction was... what the fuck is this. bare in mind its own immediate predesssor B5 was a lot better.
If Straczynski wasn't busy doing Sense8, theoretically you could have a Babylon 5 revival on Netflix or Amazon or Hulu. Back when they did The Lost Tales, all there was was home video, and it didn't work. But with streaming, you could finance a decent B5 series. Too bad so many of the main cast are dead.
jheartney its always on his stove, simmering away. That was a major cash cow until the companies killed them off. Save for B5 that is. He has some unique shit up his sleeves and I'll wager we shall see some of it either by end of this year or early spring 18.
B5 was planned and delivered from start to finish. The show actually had an ending unlike most other series. To 'revive' B5 you would have to look at other threads inside the story line already delivered and expand on them. Sadly these spin off stories never seem to live up to the original so unless Straczynski has something epic up his sleeve lets just let it be for now.
As JMS has said in the passed, the Lost Tales, the Rangers pilot, Crusade, and some of the TV movies did not add to the series they subtracted from it. The only thing he would want to do is a big budget movie version of it, and now with most of the cast enterting their golden years or passed on, I think we can let Babylon 5 live on in memory.
jheartney No. Just no. Besides the obvious fact that most of the cast are dead, reboots, remakes and revivals have a bad rap for a reason. Babylon 5 is fine just the way it is. Remaster it and put it on Blu-ray or 4K, yes, but other than that...leave it be.
Im re-watching this for the first time in years and Im just noticing the Actor that plays the technomage here also plays one of the Observers in the series Fringe.
Im still trying to piece together how the centuari got strong enough to take out the earth alliance, last i checked earth was on the same level of firepower as the mimbari+ had a closer relationship with them, victory class destroyers the improved mk VI aegis god satellites, the new warlock class destroyers with god cannons and the new thunderbolt star fury etc
+TAKIZAWAYAMASHITA I agree. I always assumed it was more like a M.A.D. type scenario. The Centauri snuck WMDs into Earth orbit and hit us bad. EA responded with overwhelming force and by the time it was all over there was little to nothing left alive between Sol and Centauri Prime.
The Drakhs followed the shadows for centuries. In fact, they also had Drakh technomages. But none, for one reason or another was as gifted as human mages. Galen of course being the most gifted of them all.
The Drakh were never about conquest but control. Conquest requires a force to attack and a force to defend. Control merely requires that the Drakh manipulate others' forces and trends. The Shadows set up the Centauri as a vassal/servant state by inflating them for their own conquest which the Shadows knew (historically) would result in a defeated and resentful Centauri race. Odds are that this formula is how the Shadows roped in most of the races beholden to the especially the Drakh. With the Shadows gone the Drakh simply continued the eons old strategy: divide, encourage warfare and secretly influence the losers. Earth after a major hit shown here would be very susceptible to the sales pitch of the Drakh taken from the Shadows playbook; they already did once. This predicted Centauri attack is entirely about expanding Drakh influence.
@@avernikas probably human imagination. The problem with the Drakh was they really weren't a very creative race, comparatively. They mostly followed the Shadow's playbooks and used technology they got from the Shadows. Their biggest problem, overall, is that they didn't understand *why* the Shadows did what they did, only how. So, they just go on emulating the methods of Shadows without understanding them, just the races that had been blindly following the Vorlons all those years.
3:30 “ what the Hell is wrong with you people? Don’t you have any hobbies?” Yeah like anything better to do?!!? Galen - Nope.. but that’s not how you give a warm welcome to an old friend. Lol 😂
It always amuses me how underpowered fantasic futuristic weapons of mass destruction are. Look at what the blast of a simple gravity bomb does (and how quickly it all happens) and here are these giant energy beams striking the ground from Centauri capital ships with no shockwaves spreading forth great destruction. :-)
+Vistico93 It always amuses me to see people talking of things of which they have no - and could have no - knowledge of how things work hundreds of years after they themselves are dead.
or a suitably good railgun could do a lot of damge, far more than this seemed to. In theory, a single 2kg slug could hit with more energy than a nuclear bomb if accelerated enough, and that gets bigger as you scal up, remembering of course that velocity of fire makes more difference than projectile size.
The weapons the Centauri used on Narn were more powerful than these weird beam weapons. Though (in head-canon!) perhaps these were special stealth ships that did not have the option for orbital bombardment and used some beam-weapon instead.
@rsuthe Actually JMS always planed 5 seasons, actually the reason 5 was in the title, but he was told to rap the show up because they wouldn't be picked up for a fifth. Season 4 was to end on the cliffhanger of John being captured. The cliffhanger would have carried momentum into the next season like all the previous ones. You could tell but the dates things happen, each season is a year in show time, and season 5 was 9 months instead. It was planned to happen, it just got dragged out a bit.
The concept of a B5 spin-off series centered around The Telepath War has some VERY interesting possibilities! With some god writers it might just work. Think of Walter Koenig playing the the series' bad guy --the terminally insincere Bester...That alone might be worth watching. I loved to hate him! He was kind-of like a sci-fi version of JR Ewing.
The movie was awesome, i bought two dvd's hoping to encourage more. But alas, there will be no more. Warner sucks. They'll blow a trillion on Superman but can't spend a dime on this awesome universe.
Here comes Galen looking all puffed up and grandios and he gets cussed down, having his people questioned if they have some issues, not working with a full deck... LoL X-D
Galen is always such a ham, I love it. Really wish Crusade had lasted longer, and maybe had a tad tighter writing, but it was nice to get him back a bit for TLT.
The Technomages don't have time travel (only the Great Machine has that ability), which leads me to suspect they have some kind of technology that can predict future events but it isn't accurate since Sheridan notes that the future isn't fixed and can be changed.
Galen is quite a tragic character, if you've watched Crusade and read the Technomage trilogy books. But he's also the most powerful Technomage in existence. I won't reveal any more than that, just read the books.
one of the best tv shows of all time, so many great stories and such amazing powerfull characters will fantastic actors..wish they'[d revive it..but alas they probably will not..they always pump out rubbish year after year..but do not follow through properly with such great things.thanks for this
The Lost Tales was released several years later. It's a collection of a few short stories. It doesn't really cap off the series, it's literally just random stories to show that shit is still going on in the B5 universe.
@XJadynX Yeah we were, but it infuriates me to see that even SuckFu, I mean syphilis, I mean SyFy, bungled Legend of the Rangers, putting it on Super Bowl night, then complaining that it hadn't enough viewers to warrant a full season. First TNT throws Crusade away then SyFy does the same. Though the original series got it's run, by not giving the characters full seasons to explore their mythology, these networks spit in the face of true science fiction fans that loves all things Babylon 5.
@rsuthe Was always meant to be a 5 year arch, what killed it was the people with the money told JMS and the crew that series 4 would be the last so they rushed everything into season 4 and even made the very final (the final of seasons 5 was made during season 4). Then when the ratings were MUCH better then people hoped for they said at the last minute there would be a season 5.
the clip should have lasted a few second longer. Lo love that last line Galen says Galen: "Well, that's hardly what I call a warm welcome. Not a "good to see you old friend". Maybe a hug or a peck on the cheek in a manly sort of way...?"
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ *THE DRAKH* ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 2:19 It is *the Drakh* who *Londo Mollari* secretly works for and who were the servants for the race of F̲i̲r̲s̲t̲ O̲n̲e̲s̲ called the S̲h̲a̲d̲o̲w̲s̲ who created the planet killer weapon for *Dius Vintari*, it terraform(s) by focusing the light from a star into a beam of heat (or, light). *EXAMPLE:* Using the Sun + a [wide] magnifying glass to focus the high energy photons its shines into a [narrow] beam of light.
Don't know how they cured the plague, but I understand they were going to cure in in season 2, then move on to a plot about Earth reverse engineering shadow tech.
@avernikas I know it's a long ago post but it wasn't so much Warner as the creator who only wanted 5 seasons.. to tell a story from start to finish... he almost didn't get it though... we were lucky to get what we did.
all together warner spent four hundred million dollars on super returns, but refused a modest budget for this newer take on Babylon 5 JMS wanted to do.
"GET OUT OF THE ROAD!" .............. what road? You are litterally flying, probably not even according to skyroad markers, as you are skimming the edge of a high rise building.
A rework would be a good point but there are still some possibilities for telling it another way. Just examples: the shadow war ended too quickly, the civil war was overspeeded and at the end plotlines keept open. Draak, telepath war for example. Don't misunderstand me, i loved the series and actors but i think, the material is good enough to be shown for another generation today without being just a remake, it can be told more epic.
I bet Sheridan would like Galen to come and instead of showing something like planetary destruction. He would like Galen to show up and say "do you fancy a beer?" Sheridan may still not trust him. But He would have something good look forward to before getting mind F****d again.
@avernikas it was this show was before the bsg (reboot) the acting was first class i had t o watch it every week and was pissed weh n somedam ball game on, the station n did that deliberately pre hulu streaming days
