Solo piano arrangement of Babylon Sisters, the opening track from the 1980 Steely Dan album Gaucho (a vinyl copy of which is propped on top of the keyboard). The song was written by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker and is ludicrously complex, structurally and harmonically (starting in F# major, ending in D minor and constantly modulating throughout), so excuse a few mistakes here and there. I am playing a combination of Don Grolnick’s Fender Rhodes comping, Donald Fagen’s vocal melody, Chuck Rainey’s bass and bits of the horn parts (including Randy Brecker’s muted trumpet solo) but not always very well. I’m using the Classic EP sound on the Kawai MP8ii and doubling up a bass guitar sound in the left hand.
