_Maada da yo!_ 🦊🤘👠 Heavy metal: You know there's a Beast. Doom metal: You preach about the Beast. Black metal: You obey the Beast. Death metal: You ARE the Beast. Power metal: You fight the Beast. Viking metal: You fight the Beast for Odin. Thrash metal: You're going to fucking kill the Beast. Metalcore/Nu metal: You crab with the Beast.🦀 Glam metal: You're too drunk to care about the Beast. Kawaii metal: You play hide and seek with the Beast.👹🤘❤
To the claims they ain’t metal, here’s the thing, both Rob Zombie and Rob Halford have defended the girls and say that they are. The purists out there are denying themselves fun
This is the quentissential Babymetal song. The Kami band intro is a fantastic way to start, and the girls coming out with the 'Hai, Hai' call and response. Then perfectly mixing awesomely heavy metal with clean vocals and super cute choreography and joy. The fact it's about kids playing hide and seek with an Ogre is even better. It is a fantastic song, thanks for reacting to it.
@The K-Pop in Public Authority That's my favourite in a very crowded field, and you make a good point. I stick by mine, but it's a good disagreement to have 🙂
I found myself smiling throughout the whole reaction, this song really lifts your mood way up. 👍 You really need to hear BABYMETAL - Megitsune if you haven't already. The official music video for it is so well made too!
Great reaction - great smile.😁 This is the best song about playing a game like hide & seek blind man's bluff or tag that I know of ... but they are playing it with an Oni (a sort of Japanese ogre👹). That sounds very metal to me, the gatekeepers who say it isn't are idiots. The growls are on backing track - that was the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da ya" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃♀🏃♀🏃♀👹 Once in a while the Kami Band get their chance to have some fun in the spotlight with an instrumental intro like this before the girls come on for the song itself. This particular compilation video has audio was taken from the Wembley Arena concert in 2016 (at least some of it anyway).
Can I suggest "From Dusk till Dawn" from Budokan 2021 concert? Literally the highest high and lowest low that Su can hit in that song AND you get Moa singing actual words!
I'll admit I'm not a fan of this kind of metal nor a lover of JPop, yet there's something infectious about Babymetal. From the start, the band is amazing and all are seriously talented at their instruments. So few can solo on a bass, let alone a six string bass! Then the girls enter and their joy in what they're doing is palpable! Everyone here is loving what they're doing. Yes, it's carefully choreographed but this is no gimmick. Everyone on that stage is well rehearsed and plays so tightly together as a band. Just as importantly, there's an acknowledgement of their audience that makes them feel a part of the performance. Like the best shows I've been to and played in, this isn't a concert. It's an experience. ♥
There is a cooperation with Rob Halford at APMA 2016 - Su and Rob singing Painkiller and Breaking the Law - and the other 2 girls later joining on guitar...😎👍🎤🎸😻
They're definitely not a gimmick. The band is incredibly talented just as much as the girls. They also have an amazing work ethic that is beyond what 99.9% of anyone will ever achieve.
Great reaction. Nice to finally see you back to reacting to Babymetal songs again. They are very good at making you smile, but they can also bring a tear to your eye too if Su so chooses. She is very good at expressing emotion through song. Babymetal does have some "sad" songs, No rain, no rainbow and Akatsuki Unfinished come to mind. Both are gorgeous songs. With No rain, no rainbow, it took years before Su was happy with her performance of that song. As such it hasn't been performed many times, the best version of that song has arguably been the Legend S Baptism XX version.
Babymetal never fails to amaze! through the years, they are always awesome!❤❤❤ if you haven't checked it already, they did another song on 'First Take', a quiet, more intimate piano version of "The One". i'd love a react to that, but i think youd enjoy it whether or not you film it. it's a must. i struggle with emotions, but the quiet piano version of "the One" hits me right in the feels. no shame in admitting it brought me to tears.
Do all of us a favor princess and react to Kagerou, the Western Kami band intro solos are some of the best ever, the drums are insane, I know you'll love it. Keep up the good work and God bless. 🤘🤘
thing I love about Baby Metal is it's proof that there are no rules to music. I know so many people who dismiss them because of the cute pop singers dancing etc. DO NOT sleep on this band. They are incredibly talented! If you don't smile listening to Baby Metal, something in you is broken. Seek help
Currently, if you are a female group, please listen to Band Maid. I am currently on tour in the US. For male groups, listen to ONE OK ROCK. Both are great! (using translation software)
Babymetal is always such an awesome band to listen to. Just instrumentally speaking alone, they are incredible. I still haven't been able to get over how good the song they did with Polyphia was 😭
I've heard of this band, but never watched a video by them before. I like their music, but I feel if I watch any more of it, I'd die of cuteness overload 😭
Su often talks about the "mature side of Babymetal" - well...I love the old songs more and if you watch this performance, you know why. But we cannot turn back the clock and we all grow older. I miss the old kawaii songs for sure. Greets from Germany and keep on rockin!
One thing I like as well is that when the bassist gets his solo bit, it's not remotely metal at all - it's an extremely soft, mellow tone, very jazzy and classical. Even his slap parts don't sound aggressive and compressed, it's all about showcasing his technique. They could have said "hey put some distortion on that bass!" but he's completely doing his own thing, and I think that's pretty neat
I love baby metal I remember the year they came out and toured the US I got to see them . Some catchy songs gets you moving. React to some Rage against the machine
I too just recently discovered these videos and this group... They are visual....... At 2:something how many string bass is that???? And now the so-called babies have arrived... So much energy........!!!!!!!
AHHHH !!!!! 🔥🔥 i love this song so much its always my go to warm up riff since im always in drop b 😭😭😭🤘🤘 hell yeah and i got my babymetal shirt tday frm japan so super syked to see yu react!!! ive been so deep in the foxhole im just indulged in sakuragakuin ! the group they were part of which i believe babymetal is a sub unit frm them but im still learning
Nice reaction. While their music category is listed as Kawaii Metal. They have become Kaizen Metal. Kaizen is a Japanese word I learned that means for the Betterment of People. As Babymetal grew their songs seem to fit this description more and more. Like this song that so many folks just become happy from watching. Much like you did. All their songs from back then until now with strong positive messages. And then we have the multiple stories from fans of how Babymetal got them through some very dark times in their lives. Now we have Su in concert asking the audience to light up this dark dark world. Babymetal is a national treasure to Japan and a precious gift to the rest of the world. Babymetal magic. Give them a chance and sadness will go away. This song is flat out fun. Is there something wrong with being a talented singer and hiring a band to play on stage for you? No What's so gimmicky about Babymetal? Oh they dance. And to me that's just a hook to be something different than the rest. The kawaii was the gimmick. And now that Babymetal has your attention. They will change your life for the better. Let's start by playing a version of hide and go seek Babymetal style. Which means you play it with an ogre. Because Babymetal just does things differently. This is the way.
@@darthzet2532 not for me. Especially not after watching their live performances. If the spirit you're talking about is the kawaii. Even that is still there. IMO they're just more mature about it for the new songs. And that started on the last album. They said some of these sings are actually over 5 years old. Which means they started on them when Yui was still with them. How different are they now from when they started working on them. Only they know for sure. And no interviewer asked them that yet. Su is 25 and Moa will soon be 24. Not kids anymore. But watching them. The passion and fun is still there. Kaizen doesn't mean boring same old same old. Or some grand political movement. Just making folks happy again is Kaizen. And that is what they're doing. Light up this dark dark world and just smile
@@stevechevy3382 No, the spirit of Babymetal was the combination from Kawaii and Metal. But the Metal is gone. Saw them live in Wembley, Tokyo Dome, 4x Saitama and in Europe. The last time i saw them was in Graz Austria and the "local supporters" was a bad joke. You cant replace the Kamis with standard musicians. But it works. Most of the fans are there to see the Girls. Im there for the music and Sus unbelievable voice. Amuse plays the typical Idol thing. Replace and get money from the fans. Its all about money. Its still pissed me of that after Yuis quit Moa dont get a bigger part in Babymetal. No, they installed another member (no offense, i like Momoko) to get more money cuz if you can sell merch for three it brings you more money as if you sell merch for two.
@@darthzet2532 I'm sorry I just can't disagree more. Moa did get bumped up. Even by Su's own comment that she thinks of Moa as an equal now. Folks still refer to Moa as a princess instead of Queen as Su would. Folks are just stuck in the past. Also, they went 5 years without Yui. Momoko got promoted into a position for made for her. For many this is more of an it's about time than oh my goodness what did they do? Where's Yui? oh the world is ending. This also for me isn't a money grab by Amuse. They're friends. And spent good part of their last tour together. It was more surprising that Momoko tried out for the Korean group than her becoming the new official member. And to me. That may have been more about Babymetal wanting to take a break and Momoko needing to keep working. Not making nearly the amount of money Su and Moa made during the last tour. Moa's parts on the last album are far more than what she had previously done on the first two albums. Plus, she was performing the Black Babymetal songs as her solo. So yes, Moa did get promoted in ways that Seems went unnoticed by you. Then there's the fact. Yes Fact. As Moa mentioned it in an interview that she become the DeFacto leader of the avengers. Which goes into Moa talking about focusing more on her dancing. She had to so she could lead the avengers. Which means as great as Riho is. She was still following what Moa was doing. In a way as it should be. And the same for Kano and Momoko. One last thought about this. Amuse is the talent agency and a big part of what any talent agency does in any country is trying to make as much money from the talent they represent as possible. This is not as much as a bad as it sounds because it also means they're making as much money for Babymetal as possible. This goes into the fact that they have stockholders that from what I've seen over the years have asked for more from the cash cow that is Babymetal. You could say this about any company stockholders wanting more. This goes on with any band that is signed to a label. Amuse just happens to be the biggest entertainment company in Japan. But many of the things I've seen about them wanting more products to sell to fans. I've also seen from other entertainment companies, and this is nothing new. It doesn't affect the songs they've done or will do in the future. as they seem to have a back log of songs to do. Don't be surprised if they release another album next year. This time with Momoko singing on it. Heck for all we know they ask Momoko to return for this tour as an avenger and she only agreed to it if they made her an official member. I don't overly concern myself with this kind of thing with bands because many bands don't last as long as Babymetal has. Especially when they start as young as they did. Even Michael Jackson left his actual brothers. Did he do it all for the money? In the end Babymetal is still a powerhouse live. And I'm seeing a lot of folks being entertained by them. Including myself. Still total fire live.
The perfect combination of badass cuteness in this song. One of my favorites and the Choreography is just too cute. 🤘🦊🤘 Can't wait to see them in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
These are some of the most talented musicians in Japan and i mean all of them! This Song in particular has the best choreography i’ve ever seen as well! It’s all around absolutely magnificent!🖤
I love Babymetal, but one Japanese Rock Band that think you would enjoy is Band Maid. All female Hard Rock Band that are celebrating their tenth anniversary. I would suggest either their newest song Shambles or live version of Puzzle.
Simply and absolutely amazing performance! Great react again beauty! You need watch "iine" live. 3 differents styles in 1 song! See you at the next, Megitsune! 🤘🦊🔥🔥🔥
I mean, a catchy, metal af song about these 3 girls playing games like hide and seek and tag with the devil... Yeah, pretty much sums up early Babymetal perfectly!
This is one of my favorite songs from BabyMetal, little sad they don't do it live since Yui left. Wish you would do a reaction to the trilogy of lights.
You always look so amazing gererous on your youtube channel great reaction by you again thank you for sharing your video with us your always so awesome on your youtube channel Aileen love it.🌹❤️❤️❤️👍
Great reaction. I too hope to see Babymetal this year. I'm pretty sure Babymetal left the gimmick band accusations behind years ago. I've been a rock guitarist all my life (I'm 67) and I've not seen anything alter music like them since the Beatles (who started me on my musical journey in life). This is my favorite video of this song. Another I like is Babymetal Black's performance of "Onedari Daisakusan" Live comp here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c1ynjq7WvdQ.html or "The One" live here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TZRvO0S-TLU.html I don't know if you've seen these yet. Just my two cents. Thanks!
Hey, another great analysis 👍 👌 I just saw them this year at Wembley, fantastic, the drums live will move your soul, and when Moa smiles directly at you your heart will melt, I hope you get to see them.x
Great reaction, Catch Me If You Can is one of my all-time favourites. I'm going to recommend one of the new songs DIVINE ATTACK there is a great montage video on KuroKiitsuneSama channel
the second cutest BABYMETAL song... listen to Yui singing the "acchi kana? kocchi kana" part in the studio version and tell me if it's not the cutest thing you've heard in years. The first cutest song is Doki Doki Morning, of course
Gimme chocolate was my first experience with babymetal, and I listened to that one song for days. It's funny when you look at some of the pioneers of metal, and then them who went a completely different way, because they really are pioneers. I don't know if I want babymetal or other bands/groups similar to them to go the way of pop and K-pop. When you learn of their weight standards, and how very much they appear to be driven by slave drivers, I'm a bit uneasy with contributing to it, especially for those who are so young.
man the entire group is so dam good dude as a guitarist mannn mikio and takayoshi are my top 2 .... 3rd is kim thayil ffrm soundgarden 4th jerry cantrell ..... like man this group is really fun ive heard almost every last song except latest album and a couple hidden gems
0:32 If you are interested in seeing a really different guitarist it would be Tommy Emmanuel. He is an amazing finger style guitarist and a really great entertainer. He does a version of purple haze, some beetles songs, pink panther theme song, classical gas. I really think it would be worth it for you to check him out.
This is the first song i heard from them 2 weeks ago. They are playing very close to me. Not sure if I should go or not, it like metal and young teen music.
Babymetal - Catch me if you can There's no gimmick. Catch me if you can is a metal masterpiece. The rythmn is heavy as fuck. A complex constantly unfolding tapestry of riffs. The singing and dancing may be confusing. Until you know the meaning. Watch a translation of the lyrics and you will understand. Su-Metal dances the part of a demon. Yui & Moa play hide & seek around her. Teasing a demon. Watch the dance moves & listen to the narrative. Hide & seek with a demon. If this isn't metal then what is? This is on par with Iron Maiden's Aces High. Fighting in the skies vs enemy attack. A gimmick was punk. Get some ass holes with no talent to make noise & promote like fuck = scam. Babymetal is crafted talent. No fluke. They create a legit new form of metal.
Great reaction! Babymetal is so enjoyable. Even though you already did a reaction for this song, it would be great for you to check out the Moa version of Headbanger from the 2015 Legend live album, even if you don't record it. The performance is amazing and I am sure you will enjoy it
