I was disillusioned with modern music… Im on wrong side of 50… but this band. Wow. Fun. When I think of my favourite pop music over last 30 years it was always fun, even with sad songs - I can’t explain it. Maybe the way the song is produced ? Maybe the vocals ? But Babymetal are like a cool blast of freshness to me. It might be they don’t take things to seriously. In the 80s that was the vibe too. More about smashing melodies and engaging you. The girls are legit singers, they just aged out of jpop and a producer was smart enough to hook them with a metal band. The band that backs the girls is a fn SICK, well oiled metal machine. The cool thing is that most people recognize that. Baby metal are pretty well liked and respected among the professional metal community.

They just want some chocolate but during the recent Europe Tour they got nothing but cute plush toys from fans throwing at them in the stage, of course the girls love to collect a lot of it. Btw they will be at Knotfest Brazil for the first time in South America and I just can't wait, The One is going crazy.🤩🤘🍫
This was the introduction of most of us to Baby metal, a wtf experience right off the bat and that chorus is the cherry on the top. I would suggest maximum the hormone, the song A.L.I.E.N. which is so crazy!
They are so good...What's amazing is they appeal to all different age groups...A while ago,someone suggested I listen to this song...Still can't get it out of my head...It's so catchy and fun...Going to see them in November in NYC...
Well, the pit at the concerts is actually relatively normal, but the crowd as a whole is a super crazy mix... like 12 year old guys and girls with parents/grandparents (of which many do not realize what they've gotten themselves into, I believe) to old af hardcore metal fans... definitely the wildest bunch I've encountered at any event ever.

Babymetal- Iijime Dame Zettai sonosphere live 2014 My favorite ever! Arguably the biggest moment in their career. First time outside of Japan in front of a big crowd. 60 thousand people. They were scared but they ended up owning it. Then they blew up internationally
Amazingly, Gimme Chocolate and Ratatata were released 10 years apart. From Yui Mizuno as Yuimetal to Momoko Okazaki as Momometal, Babymetal continues to bring so much energy and joy.

My most favorite song from Babymetal is the rendition of No rain, No rainbow in Hiroshima from the legend - S - Baptism XX in 2017 . SueMetal is from Hiroshima and she is almost in tears at the end of that rendition. Better than all the other version because of her emotion state in that particular song, location and time.

I have to say we’re living in quite the age of music when so many different elements can be combined together. In years past the girls would’ve found pop music their only option for being pro singers. But now, it’s broken wide open, so go ahead, be in a metal band, go for it.
Fun reaction! Saw them live recently and the music went surprisingly hard for me as a casual listener. The mosh pit was really energetic as well. Even better though (to me) was Hanabie. You should check out We love sweets by them, that'd fit thematically.
Excellent reaction, I believe I couldn't praise them more, hehe... "Gimme Chocolate" is "just" a fun song about the girls wanting to eat chocolate but being a little worried worried about their weight. But, yeah those instrumentals are very, very metal and the juxtaposition with the cute vocals, lyrics and choreo was totally the point of the song and the reason why this music video went viral back in 2014. Helping them a lot tbh. It's their most "popular" song but probably not their best one. But that doesn't stop it from being a blast when they play it live (and they do it a lot!). This music video has the studio version of the audio over the visuals from the concert Legend 1997 held to celebrate Su-metal's (the lead singer) 16th birthday. It was the song's live premiere. And yessss, if you don't smile while watching something like this, something is wrong with you and you need help. 😁 🤘🦊
Give me chocolate was released in Dec 2013 SueMetal was like 14 the others were like 11 or 12 if I remember correctly. Currently they are in their 20’s.
I've relied on this band and these girls to help get me through the last 3-4 years of BS going on in the world! I can always get my attitude straightened out by allowing myself to get caught up in their music and performances.

It was recorded in concert for the newest member, Momo Metal's birthday, and Su Metal passes Momo the mic so she can sing the lead vocals for the second half of the song, and was given free range vocally. You will be shocked, as I was, but I won't spoil the surprise for you.
