Bring Me the Horizon opened for Babymetal in Japan years after this interview. Opening for Babymetal in Japan is a big opportunity. To repay Babymetal for the opportunity Bring Me the Horizon featured Babymetal in a song 'Kingslayer'.

That was so cool, thanks! Still amazes me how humble they are despite being rock stars with a couple of world tour done and about to go for their third at that point. And still are now. And, as you can see, Su-metal is able to speak non stop. That's one of her most notable traits 🤣 Until next time!

Interesting that Yui answered about Road of Resistance. It is as she said. Also, Yui had (successfully, obviously) argued for including the song in the setlist for the Brixton show ahead of Kobametal's planned premiere of the song.

What is interesting about how Yuimetal mentioned Road of Resistance is such an important song. Because it was her who eventually made it happen that the song was performed there. This video has a lot of reverb. And thus certain parts of the song didn't work because of it. Those involved said it couldn't be performed, but Yuimetal had said: we must, it's important. And so the song was changed to fit the venue and this is how it stayed and ended up on the album as well.

I can't remember where I first heard this but, if you look at the girl's footwear, you'll notice that Yui and Moa are both wearing lace- up Doctor Martens boots and Su has boots that either slip on or have a zip. Legend has it that, when Su was very young , she encountered a powerful spirit and exchanged the ability to tie laces (and ride a bicycle, for some reason) to have the singing voice she has. Seems like she got a bargain and we are all the beneficiaries!

@outwest1014 Год назад
It's true, there is a Super Scooper interview where they were late and Su said it because she had trouble with her shoelaces. But has never worn shoes with laces on stage since they went to the black and red costumes. They also have heels to insure Su the tallest!!

I went to see Babymetal the first time at that Wembley Arena show in 2016. That was the start of that world tour, the end was Tokyo Dome and while huge.. at the street where Wembley Arena is they were is also Wembley Stadium (new one), which is even bigger. Just for a laugh I tried to imagine Babymetal performing there, but I couldn't then and it almost seems further away now. But we'll see, maybe some day.

It's a nostalgic interview, but watching it now, I feel a different emotion. Five years have already passed. A lot has happened in that time. And now, five years after Su-Metal said they couldn't even imagine it, they blew me away with Divine Attack. I can only thank the girls for keeping BABYMETAL going, and Moa has taken over Yui's element and is holding the unit together. Yes, the song I recommend is Ijime Dame Zettai live Sonisphere 2014 official, at the festival where they played the show that led to their recognition in the UK.

The way these women cross their legs is interesting. They are sitting with their legs together. I think this behavior was probably taught by the choreographer MIKIKIKO, who taught BABYMETAL's choreographer MIKIKIKO, who first led the three-woman dance unit Perfume to great success, and they behave in the same elegant manner. I love the fact that the girls of BABYMETL are not conceited and behave in a polite manner even after their great success.

Excellent content, thanks. Looks like nearly everything I was thinking to say has already been said in the comments below.🤘🦊 They played a completely different set list each night at the Tokyo Dome - no song was repeated and they played every song from the first two albums except for 'From Desk Till Dawn'. Those two concerts were incredible in every conceivable way. As Jake has said, 'From Dusk Till Dawn' eventually was played live at the Hollywood Palladium in 2017, but we only had fancam videos from that performance ... we finally got the pro-shot video of a live performance when it was included in two of the 10 Budokan shows in 2021. That would be so worth a reaction. This interview is just another that shows how sweet and humble Su, Yui and Moa are. Their English has improved so much since then (this was 2016 a couple of days before they became the first Japanese band ever to headline Wembley Arena - they broke all the merch sales records that night), Su is fluent and I think Moa isn't far off.
@safrisaleh412

In most of Babymetal's earlier interviews, they utilize translators but after some time they tried conversation in English terminology. Su-Metal mostly took charge of the bulk of the interrigation but Su-Metal's English has improved over the years and hardly heard of Su-Metal Japanese accent when conversing in the English language.

First time I'm seeing the full interview, thanks for sharing your reaction! Some thoughts and info: 1. They are very well spoken. I enjoy Su's answers a lot, especially to Meta Taro and what they will be doing in 5 years. Moa always has a few really intelligent answers too. 2. Su was 18 in this interview, while Moa and Yui were 16, about two months from 17. 3. Their positive lyrics are a significant factor in why I love them. Metal bands, or even contemporary music as a whole, dwell in negativity. I don't want that when enjoying music! 4. BABYMETAL started out as the heavy music club in Sakura Gakuin, although the decision was made by the Fox God which... I will stop there to avoid blasphemy. 5. Seeing Metallica live for the first time was the moment they started appreciating the Metal genre. There are low quality videos where you can spot them sitting above the stage watching. 6. A few years after this interview they did tour with Bring Me The Horizon in Japan and even made a great song together, called Kingslayer. 7. Yes! Su brought up Awadama Fever, one of my favourites! 8. Moa loves talking about food, I catched that giggle and smile as soon as the interviewer said the word "eating". There is a short and more recent interview from NHK where they also performed BxMxC, can be found on RU-vid as "NHK SONGS OF TOKYO 2020: BABYMETAL - BxMxC (4K)". CrypticMisery's updated guide is a very good watch.

At this point in time they do understand English fairly well, but there is a translator off camera. Also all questions are sent to their staff ahead so the girls and staff can formulate the answers. They just edited out where the girls are looking off camera. Today Su and Moa are English fluent. Wembley with the LA forum are the only venues they performed their full arena show. Have seen both on YT, AweSome!!! Metallica was the first metal band that really talked to them and was the first western band to have them as an opening band, took them to Korea before they went to Sonisphere. The best interviews is the 10th Anniversary interviews of Kobametal, Su and Moa individually. A few surprises. They are on Reddit. Today Su and Moa are very involved in the creation of the songs and dance. I understand one of their new songs, the lyrics were written by Su. Moa now creates much of the dance steps for new songs with their long time choreographer Mikikometal helping with finalizing the dance. Also, Thanks - Too many reactors don't react to interviews, which is why most don't actually know much about the bands they react too.

Thanks for sharing this interview before performing live at Wembley 2016. Road Of Resistance is pretty much what Yui said about it. "Meta Taro", along with GJ! and Amore, was a live premiere at Wembley Arena, highly suggest that version but of course put some watermarked logo or filters. BMTH were one of the early friends around festivals, eventually they become so close they even act as a support band in Japan and later in 2020 they made a song collab called "Kingslayer", of course is another suggestion, just careful with the live clips around, they didn't performed together yet, so you can find official proshot at Hellfest 2022 or just the official audio lyrics, try it with "Itch For The Cure" intro. Awadama Fever is a song made by the same who did Gimme Chocolate!! "From Dusk Till Dawn" was later performed at Hollywood Palladium 2017 but no proshot sadly, later it was pushed by fans to be performed live at Budokan 2021, you can find that beautiful clip at BMRR. After Wembley Arena 2016 they performed live at Tokyo Dome 2016 two nights in a row with 55K fans each night, by far their greatest live concert. Did you noticed how MoaMetal gets excited when someone is talking about food? 🤭🍕 After watching Rondo Of Nightmare (and BxMxC too if you want) I highly suggest you to watch "A BabyMetal Guide" by CrypticMisery channel, is the most updated guide and focus on the info aspect, at least until Budokan 2021 concerts. The new single "METAL KINGDOM" audio only is already out, but don't rush yet, travel a little bit more with early songs. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

@@Cheezyxyz a great video to watch is "Moa & Yui - Growing up tribute" it shows the two of them basically growing up together and gives you an idea of why they are so in sync in performances. As for suggestions on a video to watch I would suggest BABYMETAL - いいね!- Iine! (OFFICIAL) (it looks like Line but it is "iine" pronounced as eee nay.) Half way through you will stand up and go "WHAT!" There was a interview, don't think it is still up, in which the woman doing the interview is totally star struck when the girls walk in and then they promptly do an A cappella version of Gimme Chocolate and it's awesome.

BABYMETAL's responses in interviews are pretty much according to scripts. If an interviewer asks a question and the young women are not certain what the approved response is, they say "Only the Fox God knows" as a stall/cop-out. Nevertheless, it is always nice to see and hear them interact outside of the songs. What was also good to see here was a respectful and encouraging interviewer. Dude did a good job. That thing about the positive messages that they mention here is something I really like about this band. That's why 'Karate' changed my mind about them: the meaning of the song was clear from the choreography and the tone of the music, even before I looked up the translation. That part in the 'Karate' MV where Su helps her two fallen friends back to their feet and they all push forward together united was a revelation to me - a shock. I didn't know they had anything like that and that positive aspect to them made all the difference for me. I think they already had some understanding of English at this point but the edits make it clear that the assistance of the interpreter was needed in both directions at times.
@chrisharris1522
@chrisharris1522 Год назад
I think they submit questions to Koba and he chooses which ones it is ok to ask and yeah the answers are scripted, but the personalities are not and I am pretty sure Moa's pizza response wasn't either lol

This interview was before they sold out the first night at Tokyo Dome and added a second night. Which was great, since they performed all of the songs on the first two albums over those two nights. Except for 'From Dusk Till Dawn', which, as Moa mentioned, was only included on the international version of the 'Metal Resistance' album. Pretty sure both sides of this interview were translated. I imagine they edited out that part.

Love seeing them when Yui (on the left) was still with Su and Moa. The Wembley gig they talk about was recorded and is superb from start to finish. I'm not a big fan of Bring Me The Horizon but they have millions of fans so probably aren't too worried! But they've been good friends with Babymetal for a few years and did release a superb and totally in-yer-face, heavyAF song together - KINGSLAYER ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fKyXvNkGQKc.html . They've never performed it live together so beware of any fancam videos that claim it's a live performance. It'll be BMTH with Su on backing track. If you want to see them at Yokohama Arena, moving above the crowd in a pyramid-shaped device as the finale of their show (quite a sight!) then it's while they were performing the mostly English lyrics song, THE ONE, a song for the fans - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TZRvO0S-TLU.html . 🦊🤘🤘🦊

That was cool, it's the first time I've watched this interview (just like the user Schneider) - it's a throwback to the "golden era" of BABYMETAL with all three of the young ladies. I love hearing their talk and all three seem to be such likeable and lovely persons. You can feel their personality in these interviews and on stage and it's one thing that makes BM so enjoyable and great (for me). And I definitely love the positive message they put across with their music.

Nice reaction. I enjoy their interviews. Humble and polite. There is somethings in this interview that shows their personalities. Yui sitting there kawaii as can be. Her polite hush tones. Moa smiling when food is mentioned. Moa is definitely the foodie of the group. After Yui left the group. Su said it made the bond between her and Moa even stronger and she realized how much she depended on Moa. How much did she? the signs where there from the early interviews. When Su would answer questions, she would turn slightly to Moa and Moa would nod confirming her answers. Sometimes Moa would look over to Yui and she would get in on the nods as well. It felt like they were talking telepathically. Angels indeed. Also, in another interwiew Su was asked if she liked the food, she ate the night before. Su turned to Moa for the answer. Moa said she did. And that became Su's answer. Moa the all knowing. lol about food anyway. Here we get to see another Su trait as well. When she gets excited about an answer, she starts to talk really fast. You'll see that happen in many interviews. One of my favorites is when they were on a show in Japan. The interviewer says he understand they are studying English. And decides to test them a little. So, he says a phrase and they try to repeat it. Moa gets part of it and Su and Yui just say rarahrhahrahh. It's hilarious. I feel that way every time I try to say something in another language other than English. When asked where do you see Babymetal in 5 years? Who could really answer that? They could hope for more success. But they are to humble to predict a glorious future for themselves that way. It happened anyway. Now we wait for them to perform live again at the end of this month. That day will be a great day.

As ever: Moa answers the questions superbly. Su just _owns_ the questions. She's more like; you don't even know what you just asked: Begone, mere mortal. Yui , dear sweet cute Yui. I don't really know how she reacts. Because just that face melts my heart to bits and I go a bit wobbly and have to look away and try and remember how to breathe. Damn; I miss Yui.

I generally try to avoid double-dipping in the comments but wanted to point out the interviews are done with the aid of a translator and what we see/hear is the edited result. [Edit: oh, yes, you got there.] Obviously Yui misunderstood the opening question and jumped the gun, not waiting for the translator. As years went by, Su- would respond more and more in English. Moa seemed to be the quickest on the uptake understanding English, but was a bit more reserved about responding in English. Su- also would occasionally jump ahead without really understanding the question.

The one thing English speaking interviewers need to learn when interviewing a foreign language band is to not make the questions so lengthy and also ask just one or two questions at a time. Sometimes they have 3,4 or more questions in each “question.” I was taught this by more than one translator. They all said they end up have to cut out a lot of what the interviewer was talking asking about. The translator here did a really good job of communicating both ways. And…..I miss Yui.
