Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 You guys, it's been really a long time since your last BM reaction, I'm glad to see you're back with more BM songs and enjoying this new BM sound not so many people are getting what is all about, and complaining about not being so heavy and whatnot. For me L&D is another great pop rock ballad with beautiful SuMetal vocals piercing into our hearts. Love the J-pop sound from 2000 and the nostalgic vibes mixed with the edm sound. BabyMetal began in 2010 there were three, Suzuka age 12 Moa Kikuchi (shown in the video) and Yui Mizuno (who left in 2018 due to health reasons). Both Moa and Yui were only 11 when the group began. All three were friends and classmates who attended an idol school (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life the girls would learn and train to be idols and graduate at age 15 to move onto whatever entertainment path they chose. Kei Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old and needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi believed that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers and dancers and a phenomenon was about to occur. At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues) and Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). To answer your question about different styles, Babymetal combine different styles of metal with different styles of popular music. A good reaction and I hope you choose to continue discovering this band, they do not have any bad songs although some might not be to your taste, but it is worth checking out

This is definitely a song that leans a long way towards the pop end of the BABYMETAL sliding scale, further than most I'd say, not that that is a bad thing - variety and changing things up is what they have always done. They have about 60 songs now and each is different to the last - and yes they mix and blend so many different musical styles and genres with the metal - they will surprise you every time with each new song.

Schön, dass ihr zurück seid, habe euch schon vermisst. :) Babymetal bringt die Tage ein neues Album heraus, diesmal ein Konzeptalbum "The Other One", am 24.März 2023. Light and Darkness ist die vierte Singleauskopplung daraus. Sie touren mit Sabaton durch Europa, und sind unter anderem in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover, Berlin, Köln und München. Ich denke nicht, dass wir die Bühne wie hier im Video, live in Deutschland erleben werden. Das Video ist dem Konzert vom Januar in Japan (Makuhari Messe, glaube ich) entnommen, die Tonspur hier sollte die Studioversion sein, so machen das Babymetal in der Regel häufig mit ihren "Offical"-Videos. Su-Metal (Nakamoto Suzuka) ist schon immer die Leadsängerin von Babymetal, die Band wurde ja um sie herum aufgebaut. Moa-Metal (Kikuchi Moa) ist nach wie vor in der Rolle die als "scream and dance" definiert wird, sie hat auch ein Mic. Yui-Metal (Mizuno Yui) hatte Babymetal ja 2018 aus wohl gesundheitlichen Gründen verlassen, seitdem sind Babymetal offiziell nur noch zu zweit, werden aber von den "Avengers" unterstützt, welche den dritten Spot ausfüllen sollen. Die letzte dieser ehemals drei Avengers ist Momoko (Okazaki Momoko), die seit 2019 immer wieder und zuletzt ausschließlich mit dabei ist. Am Foxday, 1.April eines jeden Jahres, soll im diesen Jahr nun angeblich der dritte Spot entgültig vergeben werden, was bedeuten würde, dass Babymetal wieder ein offizielles drittes Mitglied bekommt. Einige hoffen dass Yui zurückkommt, andere, wie ich selbst, finden, dass Momoko es längst verdient hat, ein neues Mitglied zu werden. Aber "only the Foxgod knows", wie es bei Babymetal so schön heißt. Wenn ihr Su-Metals volle Stimme mal quasi roh erleben wollt, dann kann ich euch die Piano-Version von Monochrome (die zweite Singleauskopplung aus dem neuen Album) empfehlen, die der Kanal "The F1rst Take" vor ein paar Tagen online gestellt hatte. Vorher solltet ihr euch aber unbedingt den Orginal-Song anhören. Bis dann, vielleicht sieht man sich demnächst auf dem Konzert, ich selbst fahre nach Frankfurt am 22.April.

This was from their new concept album The Other One coming out in March . Performed at there come back from their hiatus show in February. L&D ist aus dem Album "The Other One", das am 24.03.2023 veröffentlicht wird. TOO ist ein Konzeptalbum, das nicht als 4. Album zählt. Es enthält Lieder u.a. mit ernsteren Themen, die nicht unbedingt Ihrem bisherigen, üblichen Stil folgen. Monochrome ist fantastisch, falls Ihr von TOO ein weiteres Lied hören wollt; am Besten zuerst das offizielle Lyric Video, anschließend die gerade veröffentlichte Piano Version auf dem RU-vid Channels First Take, eine perfekte Version. Die Lead-Sängerin Su-Metal war schon in jungen Jahren gut, aber jetzt im Alter von 25 Jahren...! Babymetal hat viele Lieder, die unterschiedliche Stilrichtungen mit Metal kombinieren, jedes Lied kann aber immer als Babymetal erkannt werden, egal ob EDM/Metal, Bollywood/Metal, Pop/Metal, Metal/Metal usw. Das erste Album "Babymetal" von 2014 ist eher "jung und wild", unterschiedlichste Stilrichtungen. Auf dem zweiten Album "Metal Resistance" von 2016 werden eher unterschiedliche Metalrichtungen durchdekliniert wie Djent, Powermetal, Progmetal. Auf dem dritten Album "Metal Galaxy" von 2019 werden u.a. Musikstile unterschiedlicher Länder mit Metal kombiniert, z.B. Latin/Metal (Night Night Burn), Bollywood/Metal (Shanti Shanti Shanti), Polka/Metal (Oh! MAJINAI). Dieses Album ist auch eher ein Bruch zu den früheren Alben, weniger Guitarrensoli, andere Stilrichtungen. Die Leadsängerin Su-Metal war zu diesem Zeitpunkt knapp 22 Jahre alt, MoaMetal 20, YuiMetal hat 2018 aufgehört, die Sturm und Drang Phase ist hier vorbei, Babymetal wird erwachsen. Vorschläge: - eher "heavier": Road of Resistance (unbedingt Live in Japan anschauen), Megitsune, Headbanger, Akatsuki, Karate - weniger "heavy": Monochrome, Brand New Day, Awadama Fever, Gimme Chocolate - Sonstiges: Syncopation (fantastisches Lied), BxMxC (Su-Metal kann einfach alles), Shine (Legend M Performance), Shanti Shanti Shanti (nicht das MV, besser eine Liveversion oder sogar Compilation), Iine (WTF-Faktor), jedes andere Lied :-) Babymetal ist im Mai übrigens auch in München 😀 Die aufwendigen Kulissen sind leider nur in den großen Shows in Japan, bei ihren Auftritten außerhalb Japans ist das eher unspektakulär, sind ja auch kleinere Hallen. Da Babymetal "nur" Special Guest bei der Sabatontour ist, wird da auch kein großer Aufwand sein, aber das wird bestimmt super, freu mich drauf!

Cool, dass Ihr wieder zurück seid. 🙂 L&D ist jetzt nicht mein absolutes Lieblingslied vom neuen Album (das ist "Divine Attack"), aber die Musik macht schon Spaß. Übrigens sind sie "nur" als Special Guest voin Sabaton auf Tour, nicht als Headliner. Und ihre große Show und Bühne gibt es i.d.R. nur in Japan zu bewundern.
