My favourite thing for reactors to say at the moment is that this song is surprising and unexpected. Because that's the main thing I never want them to lose. I'm sure this will become even better live with more prominent guitars giving it a little heavier sound.
After dark Knight carnival show they went back to three girls but Babymetal is essentially just Su and Moa but that would probably change with the shows coming up April 1st and 2nd with the buzz that they will be adding permanent third member and the strongest candidate to fill that position is Momoko she has been the only avenger left since they have been back in Japan and performing in every show since then as backup dancer what everyone strongly feels they are looking to change that
Official just means released by Babymetal, as opposed to a fan camera, or similar. I believe it’s more often used for concert footage than say a music video.
You asked if they've made anything else like this. Brand New Day (3rd album), DA DA DANCE (3rd album) and perhaps IINE (1st album) come to mind, in that order.
@@Killermcknight Brand New Day is more math rock/pop rock with Tim Henson and Scott LePage of Polyphia having written the guitar parts. I would say DA DA DANCE is the closest, but it's both more metal and more of a Eurobeat dance floor hit that fits perfectly as a theme for Initial D, while Light and Darkness is more electro pop and city pop. IINE is a crazy metal rave. Uki Uki Midnight has some dubstep in it. From Dusk Till Dawn is some kind of avant-garde ethereal trance dubstep metal. And ↑↓←→BBAB, which has never been performed live, is nintendocore. I love all of them.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I assume Amuse is currently releasing MVs with live footage + studio sound, in other words "imperfect live video", on purpose, because they have to block their "real live videos" by copyright strike in order to sell them in a form of Blu-ray/DVD. After the two-year long hiatus, this is a good tool to remind people of the attractiveness of BABYMETAL and gain new fans, I believe. Momoko is dancing with Moa. I hope she would be one of the new trio in April but Only The Fox God Knows. I witnessed this performance last month and was mesmerized at the venue. Although I could not digest everything at the live debut, I finally grasped its artistry as a whole by this MV. This song reminds me of something but it is very difficult to explain it. The part with Su's calm voice makes me uneasy about something. The part with her powerful timbre and decisive facial expression together with sharp moves by Moa and Momoko makes me decisive for something. The problem is "what the hell is my 'something' ?" Please stop shaking and teasing my emotions, BABYMETAL! 😡 😄
In the intro of the video, I was talking about how, "some people commented about their experiences" at this live show and I was totally thinking about you Flugelhorn! lol As you can tell in my closing remarks, I am putting my money on Momoko but your analysis/decisiveness on this video has me so damn curious! When you figure out what the "something" is you have to share it with me! You can not drop that on me without finishing the thought and conclusion!! 😂
excellent content Killermcknight-Metal, most of the fandom is 99% sure that it's Momoko, getting an official Metal name and possibly her own headset with mic, both Riho and Kano are very busy with their own careers, that they didn't have when they first became avengers in 2019, during down time Momoko tried out for a K-Pop project in Korea, but faced an uphill battle with the judging situation, so Moko-Metal just might be introduced on fox day. Moko is one of Momoko's nicknames as well as Momo, it could be either one.
Always expect the unexpected from BabyMetal. You can not predict what they will do next, and i am a metal/rock fan who loves this song. Definitely, i fell off the fence for this song 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Excellent reaction, thanks! No, there is no official confirmation, and yes, this is Momoko. And no, the avenger on "PA PA YA!" MV was definitely Kano. 😁 Yep, this is mostly EDM-J-pop-metal and it's way out my alley musically. I'm still not sure about this one but I believe it will sound heavier live. BUT I already like the song and found some cool elements like the build-up on the pre-chorus (which reminds me of Sakura Gakuin's "Heart no Hoshi", by the way), that unexpected note on the chorus and the double bass pattern right after the chorus. I can't wait to see it live!
This is the studio audio over the live performance at Makuhari Messe in January. The track to be released for March will probably be The Legend, since that's the other new song they played live. Yes, that's Momoko in the third spot. She was there for most of the shows in January, just not for the opening and closing of the show. There is a like 90% chance that the new member will be Momoko, since the upcoming shows are in Yokohama in Kanagawa prefecture, which is Momoko's home prefecture (mind you, its also Yui's home prefecture...), and they like to do these kinds of big milestone shows in the performer's home town. Also, as of now, Momoko is the only one of the Avengers that is available; Kano is in the idol group @onefive, and Riho is signed to another talent agency as a solo artist. Momoko has been the Avenger for the past 27 shows, including all of 10 Babymetal Budokan, and the shows in January, so everything points to it being her, unless Koba is swerving us.

The production team for this song is the same team that created Shine, and you could say that they are a production team that aims to break the stereotypes of metal. This time, they added elements of CITY POP and brought back the vivid colors of love to a world that has lost its colors in black and white and will never let go of that love! We sang about a world full of love😊. But still, where does SU take a breath 😊It's a busy song for vocalists 😁. The dance is beautifully synchronized and the clear voice is mesmerizing. The KAMI band was going wild in the background😁. I spent the first day in front of the band stage on the north side so I was very happy 😊 On the other hand, I am happy to see their performance properly in this music video and enjoy it twice 😃.
Oh cool, didn't realize it was the same team as Shine. Shine is probably my favorite BM song. Looking forward to Killermcknight doing that trilogy! Killermcknight. You said that you actually think you like and gravitate more towards BM over the other metal bands and you weren't quite sure why. I think you feel that way because they make you smile and happy. I think that is mainly the reason why. You have Su's voice which is getting better and better as time goes on, you have Moa with her infectious smile, and then you have these amazing songs that typically actually have a positive message tied to them, or are just silly songs for fun. There is rarely a dark song that talks about death and despair and all that stuff that most metal talks about. You watch Babymetal and you see these pure and innocent ladies who are reviving a genre in their own style and it's fun and mesmerizing to witness. That is my theory anyhow.
I'm not on the fence. I love this song so much. Also, when I hear people say anything negative about the electronic parts I chuckle because apparently they forgot about Iine, Awadama Fever, and From Dusk Till Dawn.
Nice reaction. For those who aren't old enough to remember that is straight up Disco they're playing until they mix in the metal. What the song needs is more Moa. We can always use more Moa. With that said, I think it's important to note that Moa didn't move into the middle when she sang her part. Which had been doing for the tour of their 3rd album. Which for me is a sign that a new third member is on its way. This way when it happens the choreography won't have to change. Especially since an official member would most likely be singing Moa's part with her. The way Yui and Moa use to. The great shot of Momoka at the start of the video gives me hope that she is the new member. If Yui isn't coming back for it. Momoka deserves that spot. She's in synch with them. Her dancing has improved so much with them. And She is a former member of Sakura Gakuin. Like Su, Yui and Moa were. For me the song gives a good balance between light and darkness. The song talks about how they go together. But I wish the difference was a bit more drastic like in their earlier days. But still a good song. Su's vocals are soaring at times during this song. Moa is just adorable singing her part. Lastly, I've been pulling for Momoka to get the job for a while. They even lined them up in size order for the video. Momoka looks slightly taller than Su. Going from left to right. We have Momoka Su and Moa. With that the triangle has reformed. Enjoy the guide. Just know that you could read novels about them and still not know all there is to know. How many people were holding their breath, as Su's note went higher and higher, and waiting for the beat to drop?... I didn't start breathing again until the instruments kicked back in. Seriously, i think Babymetal has been taking lessons from edm tracks on when to drop the beat.... not that many bands, especially metal, is so good at building up that anticipation before dropping the beat, no one does it as well as Babymetal. 😅🤘🦊🤘
Throughout babymetals history they have always danced around that EDM sound within some of their songs as one of their songwriters is into EDM music light and darkness is different but it's still within their style of music it still has that Babymetal feel to it
Yes, they already did songs that were more towards pop (Brand New Day, DA Da Dance), even towards EDM (Iine) and Dubstep (Uki Uki MIdnight and From Dusk Till Dawn)!! I'm from the BM fandom that comes from the pop scene, so i'm very happy about this song! After the first 3 songs I was a bit scared ngl that they would stop going around genres how they used to do! This one reassured me a bit :D Now I'm waiting for Metalizm and TIme Wave as other songs with promising sound :D Oh and if you want to find a video with subtitles, the fanmade channel who did it for Metal Kingdom also did it for this one! YOu are right, this is Momoko, but I don't think this is a signal. This album had 2 girls on the album cover, on all the merchandise and articles. Here Momoko is still an avenger, so i wouldn't consider this as a proof!

This song has anime montage/end credits vibes for me. Because of that, I am going to use this song as a gateway song to get my teen anime-addicted nephew hooked on BABYMETAL. He has heard the old very kawaii BABYMETAL songs which turned him off, but I think these more mature sounding songs will appeal to him more. I also want him to like them because I'm going to make him come with me the next time BABYMETAL has a show in the San Francisco bay area. 🤘🦊🤘
Am I on the fence with this song? Nope. I'm all in. It fits! This song is track nine on the upcoming album, after the devastation depicted in Monochrome (track eight) ... why wouldn't there be zombies dancing around Su at the beginning. Add some desolate, yet heart-wrenching lyrics, set to a heavy, EDM influenced pop framework and you have a super strong song. If you want a modern Babymetal song, this is the perfect example. I like the slow switch in the choreo as well. Away from the distinct rhythmic, stuttered zombie dancing to becoming more human; it was almost like Momo and Moa were recovering (merely an interpretation). I really liked this song. I think this is going to be Babymetal's biggest album to date.

I don't think it signals anything that Momoko is in the video. Kano was featured in many Official MV. I do think it most likely Momoko will be named the new 3rd member. But not for this reason. Although, from the 2 videos we have, it seems the interaction between the three and Momoko's synchrony with Moa bodes well for her selection. I also think there is a small possibility of someone else being named. As for the song it does sound to me like a J-pop song reminiscent of late 20th Century Idol. I have been listening to a lot of Akina Nakamori's music over the last few months or so, and the song would fit right in with her 1980's discography. My thoughts on the arrangement though seem to keep drifting toward a more current time frame as I hear and absorb more of the backing. And there is that City Pop sound, especially the Perfume-esque sections where Moa sings. I don't hear any more of the hard rock/metal influence than what is in a lot of pop music of the last decade or so. Not a pop song, but a J-pop song. Marty Friedman did a great explainer for what makes Japanese music different, and to him (and me) more compelling. I have always been a push-over for a really good pop song that has a great arrangement and a truly outstanding vocal lead. I really like the song, but as a Su-metal stan, it is all about the vocals and the song composition, arrangement, orchestration, engineering is all about supporting that delivery. Your mileage may vary. And as at least a few others have noted, the TOO songs so far seem to be about just that: delivery of a Su-metal vocal performance. Maybe that is a bit overstated considering the message of Monochrome.
I really hope that Momoko will become the third member in April. And I think it will be probably her (maybe 70%). But her being in an official music video doesn't really mean much as there are official music videos with every avenger.
I think I'm in tune with many others with this one, it's beautiful for sure.... Just not what I was expecting, which also is not a bad thing. I love the heavy of the Metal with other elements thrown in to give it that signature fresh new twist. This was more the twist with an element of Metal thrown in. Hate to sound like the broken record, but if they do make this heavier live in concert, that will seal the deal for me... between just like, and love.

At the moment Babymetal are a Duo Sue and Moa. The 3rd dancer here is Momoka who is one of the Avengers but has been in the 3rd spot for about the last 30 shows. The general view is there will be a 3rd permanent member introduced in Aoril. The smart money is on Momoka but no one knows foe sure

As other have said having Momoko as the avenger in the mv is nothing special, she’s been the avenger for the last 30+ shows since Riho and Kano are busy with their own projects and yes, many fans predict her becoming the official 3rd member on fox day. As always with Babymetal, exact the unexpected 😂 I like the song despite having more of a jpop feel to it.
