These two have grown to be such best friends. They love one another and always treat each other with such kindness and care. I wish the best for their blossoming friendship.
@@xendlesseax Honestly, I'm not sure Moa ever saw Su as a fellow "little girl" given the height difference (especially back then) plus how seniority works in Japan. Even so, their own stage teacher was happy to see worldwide success really hadn't changed them from the joyful young girls he remembered. Su & Moa just mesh perfectly.
Neat video that shows the closeness and loving friendship these two young ladies have after years of traveling the world together at such a young age. I can only imagine how tiring, lonely and scary their first tours could have been as young women in a stereotypical macho male music genre, doing something that noone had done before, and often in countries far away from home, and where the people didn't speak Japanese. Not only did they survive thru those early years, but they have thrived and succeed into a huge international attraction. Selfishly, as a fan; I hope they two of them continue to find happiness and fulfillment in Babymetal for years to come.
They've got lots of big brothers and uncles in the Metal community. They've toured with Bring Me The Horizon a few times and Ollie has often said how they took the girls under their wing during a few early festivals. Rob Halford and Rob Zombie have both expressed their love of the girls as well, along with Metallica, Chilli Peppers and Sabaton. I don't think they've got anything to fear
@@stuartedmond7372 Imagine yourself back when you were 12-14 going to strange country for the first time, where hardly anyone spoke your language. It would be a bit unnerving wouldn't it? Then top it off by the fact that you are performing in front of thousands something that had never been done before. IF you don't think the girls had some stressful days, then you live the life of bliss. When I was 13, I was already a 6 foot tall 200 pound athletic young man, so I normally felt pretty secure and safe in my surroundings, but can you imagine being tiny young ladies in the same situation? Now I'm confident that the girls in Babymetal had chaperones on tour with them to look out for them. But bottom line, it really is a testament to Su & Moa's mental strength, that they not only survived the early tours, but have lived to thrive in their profession. They are indeed special young women.
@@randomman4938 Yeah, Moa admitted she was terrified before the watershed Sonisphere 2014 show. It takes a lot more than 50,000 possibly hostile drunken Brits to rattle Suzuka -- she just doubled down and decided to give the best performance she could. Yui meanwhile probably needed a system reboot after that even though the show was a smashing success and led to them getting bookings all over the world. To Su's & Moa's credit, they've been working so hard on their English since then and I'm proud of them. It really says a lot about actual metal musicians that almost all of them saw these then-underage Japanese girls and collectively decided they deserved protection from the haters. Rob Zombie was not shy about taking the piss out of anyone and everyone insulting them. Rob Halford adores them as the cute Asian granddaughters he'll never have, and he respects Suzuka as a fellow singer. Oli Sykes went on a drunken rant at SummerSonic about how much he loves Babymetal and, sure enough, got that collab they both wanted. Of course it also doesn't hurt that Suzuka & Moa (and even Koba) have a long history of Asian-style humility
I read an article that said Moa was really grateful to Su for believing that they could keep going and everything would be fine. That's love right there

VERY late but I 100% agree. Even just scrolling through RU-vid the amount of little things you bring up that really help us appreciate the members of babymetal themselves. Not to mention all the work you and the team put into the Foxhole in general and it’s seasonal events. i recently watched a clip of them from sakura gakuin in class. moa ran up and gave su a big hug and said, "i love you" (subtitled of course),they must have been about 12 and 13. she's always looked up to su as the big sister she never had.
Moa really loves Suzuka, yeah because lately I've been watching their activities together at Sakura Gakuin until Suzuka's graduation which Moa is so very sad about.
The One (Stairway) video from 10 Budokan is surely as direct a message as anyone could expect. But notice how at the end Moa andSu become ballsof lightflying away into the cosmos, but they are joined by a third ball of light, which has to be Yui.

If that clip at 0:54 is from one of the Legend M concerts, I'd be disappointed, because it isn't on the BluRay release of Karate from those shows. That is a special look because while Su often gives that look to the audience it just hits different when she gives it to just one person (extra special cause Moa, but dang I am suprised Moa didn't melt right then). They do seem to have a special relationship and I am glad they were able to support each other for so long, and still continue to do so.

The friendship these two beautiful young women have is so special. It all began around 2010, or maybe a little before, and since then they done some exhaustive touring to many countries around the globe. That all began in 2014 when Su was 15/16 and Moa was 14/15. Gradually they learned English, but to begin with it most have been so scary for them, basically thrown into the music spotlight while they were only children. They've been threw a lot since then, lost Yui from the band and then had to initially tour as two instead of three. They got some unfair stick in America, which reduced Moa to tears, because there wasn't enough time to bring in someone else. Then the Avengers stepped in and Momoko in particular really stepped up to the plate. And in among all of that they became even closer, if they hadn't the band would have probably folded. They have backed each other up on numerous occasions and have established an unbreakable bond. I hope that endures the passing of time and are still friends in retirement.🥰🥰🥰🥰
I really understand friendship like them is very rare because moa and suzuka are friends since childhood and they love each other even when they grow up they are still united but their friendship I think is incomplete because there is no yui

A common theory why Yui left seems to be the closeness of Su and Moa, but that closeness has always been there hasn’t It? I mean back In the day Moa sobbed and begged Su not to graduate from Sakura Gakuin .... Moa has always Idolized Su, they have I think a profound love and respect for each other. I got glimpses of things that make this believable during a show summer 2017. It was all little things easy to overlook and blow out of proportion, but one has to wonder.
That seems exceptionally unlikely(and a bit ridiculous), seems much more likely to be the sadly common anxiety/stress, or simply not wanting to be in the industry.
Moa and yuis friendship was the strongest but it might be that moas friendship with su is the strongest right now. I just hope they all still look out for yui

@@urazsoktay5275 If you're asking if I have insider knowledge, of course not. simply speculation based on various interactions throughout the years, Moa slipping here and there with both her attraction towards women and Su, etc...but it can be fully innocent slips. just a mystery that really I am not wildly invested in. Babymetal is a band, not a dating show, so its not really my concern and I dont mind, just hope whatever their life brings, they are happy when the camera is off, be it purity, boyfiends, girlfriends, wild debauchery, etc. Whatever makes them smile.
Buttons-Metal I'm sure already knows this, but for the uninitiated… Moa is an only-child while Suzuka is the youngest of three sisters. Each fills a sort of familial sweet-spot the other lacks (even Yui had this, being the middle-child in between two brothers). Moa has always admired Su. Still does even after all these years. Given Suzuka's habit of spacing out, she's probably glad to have Moa around to keep her grounded. Moa loves Su, the big sis she never had, full-stop.

As to their status with each other you need to read Su's 10th anniversary interview, it might surprise you. Moa is an only child, she got her wish to have sisters. Su and Yui. Reportedly Moa visits Yui regularly and I assume so does Su.
This is the performance of "Shine" during Legend M. Some would consider this to be a defining moment between Su and Moa performing together. Su has even spoken of how special it was ect ect.
Buttons, you opened this can of worms, so, here goes. I have five older sisters, so, I do have an insight into female-female relationships. None of my sisters was as close to another sister as Moa/Yui were from ages 10-16. Those two girls openly hugged, held hands and were even halves of the same unit. However, a change came over Yui in 2014. Yui seemed to be okay with BM being big in Japan, but worldwide probably scared the daylights out of her. She went from being chatty Cathy to being the silent partner. She probably became more needy of Moa and this is when Moa started exchanging glances with Su. What finally happened? Only three people know and they're not talking. Again, having five sisters, I do have an insight and there was some kind of betrayal here. That Yui was replaced by three girls was a wise move by Amuse Inc. What that means is that Su/Moa can keep on keeping on and the third girl in the performance knows that she can be replaced in a second (literally if another is suited up backstage). Just my two cents.

People have speculated on this so many times so no worries. Lots of theories on why she left and has not returned. One popular one is that when she did indeed fall ill, the time she was away from tightened Su and Moa's friendship needing to rely on each other even more. Maybe she would have felt out of place returning like a third wheel if you will. If Su and Moa are "together" is whatever. I just make silly things to mimic how they are silly with one another. Needless to say OTFGK what is going on.

@@Yaturu The girls you got to know 7 years ago and their songs are still there. same way classical music lives on long after the composer dies. songs and videos allow us to time travel a bit. Its not letting go to what was, its accepting what is and what will come without demanding that everything go back to what already was. Appreciate the time for what it was. Accept it lives in the past, and visit it from time to time. But be in the now and understand that things evolve. I know when I intro people to BM, I start them off with RoR and sonisphere's idz because in my opinion that is peak BM, but I see BxMxC video is also a good interesting fusion song with just Su and Moa doing something weird and different, and I am looking forward to seeing what Momo can bring into the mix. And props to her by the way. She knows the size of the shoes she has to try and fill and even though will never be a Yui replacement, her heart is in the right place to try and be a good counter to Moa's dancing. I wonder if she will do a song or two herself. As far as what Yui is up to. Yeah, it would be nice for just a sign of life somewhere...living in France as a happy housewife or whatever (actually, don't even care where she is...just that she is alive and happy somewhere is all I would care to ever know). She won't be doing any solo career. Sadly her vocal talent wasn't really profound. Funny thing is when I do these "shipping" edits it is the most popular things on my Twitter. Alot of the Japanese fans seem to love them and see them for what they are... Harmless fun being cute. Ive seen just about everything BM has done and if you more in tuned with how Su and Moa are playful with each other you may want to relax a little. Or am I? :-P Seriously, though, whether their relationship goes beyond being friends or not, we'll (probably) never know. But it's clear that they have a very close and intense relationship, even as friends and colleagues, having spent so much time together from a young age and having lived the adventure they've lived together. Which, yes, is definitely clear from their interactions. That's what I value and respect the most. Anything beyond that, concerning their personal lives, is not for me to draw conclusions about. (And we can't, really.) But, despite the taboo surrounding the subject, originating from the fact that they were so young for most of their careers, I do hope that they've found or at least experienced plenty of love and intimacy by now, individually. Being young and in love is one of the greatest things in life.
