And it was grand and it brought entertainment and and joy to the masses across the world and in the words of bill and Ted it was most most triumphant lol
⚡ 💀 💕 / 💓 ⏰ This song covers all of those traditional Heavy Metal song themes, like waking up excited for a new day at school, and deciding on your lip gloss and cute hairstyle for the day. : ) "Doki Doki" is supposed to be like the sound of an excited heartbeat. This was their first single, music video, etc. BABYMETAL was still a sub-unit of the school themed idol group Sakura Gakuin. It was this video blowing up on social media that helped BABYMETAL start to go viral, especially outside of Japan. The 'Doki Doki ☆ Morning' DVD single was released October 2011. Suzuka was thirteen, Yui and Moa were twelve. Pretty much everything that followed was because this video unexpectedly blew up. Their original budget was so small that Su's coat was borrowed from one of the Sakura Gakuin teachers. Moa's vest was borrowed from Yui, and Yui borrowed hers from fellow student Raura. The girls taught the skeleton dudes the dance moves themselves. Unfortunately they haven't performed it live since Su's 'Legend S' 20th birthday concerts at the end of 2017.
Sakura Gakuin is babymetal pre babymetal? Or is that more just like a school? This song is cute and to make it so simple as getting ready for a new day at school is definitely fitting of kawaii metal
@@Detrucci Sakura Gakuin is an age-limited school-themed Idol group. The singing and dancing sub-units are modeled after school activity clubs, like Mini-Pati (The Cooking Club) and Twinklestars (The Baton Club). All three of the original BABYMETAL members (Su, Yui and Moa) started in both BABYMETAL and Sakura Gakuin in 2010. BABYMETAL was the "Heavy Music Club" subunit. After Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or Su) graduated from Sakura Gakuin in March of 2013, BABYMETAL became an independent project. Yui and Moa continued in both until they graduated from Sakura Gakuin in March of 2015.
You have gone all the way back to the beginning of Babymetal. Doki Doki Morning was their first song and first video. I envy the fans that have been with them from the beginning and were able to watch them grow up in real time from these cute little girls to the super ladies that they are now.
The only thing I kinda don’t like at this point in time of BM is that Moa seems to mime a lot rather than sing which disappoints me a bit. I have to be as much a critic as I am a fan and one one of the things I respect most is that they always perform live. Now there’s only two (singers) I would love to see Moa and Su collab more in an equal sense rather than Su always taking lead...going back to the first album we had Song4 (nuts but great) and SIS Anger which they did without Su and live.
Haha, that was fun. This was their first ever song and was recorded in 2010. The video was made in 2011, so they were 12 and 11 when it was recorded, 13 and 11 oe 12 when they did the video. Doki doki is a fast heartbeat - it was all about waking up and looking forward to an exciting day meeting their friends. The scary part was Moa and Yui - and it was scary because 'metal'. Your reaction at that part was hilarious.
J-POP and METAL mixed as it best! This is one of my favorite BM songs! so catchy! This is the first ever Babymetal song, it's from 2010 but the video was released in 2011 They were 13 (Su) and 12 (Yui and Moa)
As their first ever released song, this is the one that defines Kawaii metal at its core. A mix between japanese idol themes, lyrics and visuals, and hard core heavy metal sound. And then they proceeded to expand and smash that definition with each and every subsequent song. Everytime i watch this clip I got a cuteness overload.
...and that's how it all started... Su (13, almost 14), Moa (12) and Yui (12) by the time of the shooting of the video. I love these years, the path of the rise of Babymetal... just a "heavy-music" club of Ssakura Gakuin in the beginning and very soon after, a act to stick around for many years to come... we'll see where they go, but for me the years between 2011 and 2016 is where I most love them and where (IMHO) they got their peak and really became legendary ... no one will ever do it like they did as it's such a unique act. This starting point is just adorable - although I understand the confusing thoughts for those who see this MV for the first time... for me it was all good, weird and strange, but all good ... I think I was going "OMG, so cool, so cool, adorable, heavy, scary, OMG, I love it..." .... The first Babymetal album is, for me, a pearl in rock history... it's really chaotic with so much mix of styles but, nevertheless, perfect! PS - I would still go back in time and say that it all started with Karen Girls "Over The Future" ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-otn2UB-Q7Pw.html ) with Su (and Ayami)... Yui was a fan back in the day and wanted to be like Su... later on, they all got together in Sakura Gakuin, Yui and Moa got in after this really kawaii "Over The Future" choreography ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9dLoimjaeOs.html )... a few years later we have the cherry on top: Babymetal in one of the IDZ concerts, Yui has her dream come true - perform "Over The Future" ... Yui and Moa start it off and crowned by Sumetal ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WTi1ioxlRCg.html ) and it's one of my fav moments (of many) of Babymetal in these years... (the enthusiasm in this performance is off the charts, specially for Yui, I'm guessing... and the music itself has such a nostalgic feeling at this point...) There are so many moments, stories, curiosities, etc etc in the "Babymetal Book of Lore" ... that's stuff of legends :-D
Hahaha! That was great! The music video for this song is mental. This was their first song, recorded way back in 2010 when BABYMETAL was still a sub-group of Sakura Gakuin. The song's about a girl excitedly getting ready for school, doing her hair, putting make-up on... It doesn't get any more metal than that!
If this doesn't put a smile on your face then there is nothing in the universe that will. Their first video, first song and the girls were 11 and 12. Kawaii overload - too adorable. There's a commentary on this video from Su, Moa and Yui, made a few years after it was released, discussing the making of the video - it's KawaiiAF! : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6ay81Oc96fI.html
This was the vid I saw in Dec 2011 or Jan 2012 - - I was hooked and dug up everything I could find like all the Sakura Gakuin stuff.. you will have fun with the BM stuff you haven't already covered.
@@Detrucci Jeje, i love your reactions, especially from Babymetal and Bandmaid. Although i dont know much english, i try to enjoy everything, and i learn english too hahahaha
Haha, that was entertaining. No matter how many BABYMETAL songs you have heard, you should still be prepared to be surprised. If this song doesn’t manage to pique J-Pop fans‘ interest in Metal, nothing will.
Look carefully at the closeup of Su's eye at the beginning. Not the only time they do eye reflection tricks in MVs. In another video, they do live commentary while watching this MV and mention they actually WERE on turntables for the spinning part.
Detrucci Good to hear. A lot of people on the Babymetal Discord want you to do it. Could probably guarantee 30-50 live viewers. The guys on their can give you required links to full concerts.
Great reaction 🤘 the beginning for Babymetal and kawaii metal 🤘 Next song from babymetal for you, its no rain no rainbow legend s video ☺️ this song give me tears every time listen too this song 😌
There's even one with original comments from Suzuka, Moa and Yui. Worth a look definitely! and YOUNG? Maybe you really should watch some Sakura Gakuin Videos!
If you like fun metal like this you definitely should watch the new Eskimo Callboy "Hypa Hypa" video. Almost everyone did it so far.😅 But Eskimo Callboy in general is also good.
The song that started it all. It was released in October 2011, and in December Metal Injection had it at #9 in their year end review, and everything took off from there. Speaking of Powerpuff Girls, check out Buttercup by Shonen Knife. SK is the original kawaii rock band, they started in 1983 and are still going. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C7ZFeViTl4g.html
